i'd kinda like to see a team based on different time periods. so it could be something like, red=sengoku, blue=medieval, etc. and the sixth could be the representation of the present.

I would like to see knights; maybe they could travel to the future to fight the main villain (like a revers Timeranger).

I also love the ninja seasons and wouldn't mind a third one. I think a birds of prey theme would be cool, but not have it be like military/protecting organization themed like Jetman.

So Jetman suits+Gaoranger-style Mecha+A no-budget mission control like Dino Thunder or Magiranger?

Why does everyone default to Gao concerning animal mechs when other series had been doing it for a decade by then?

I'm surprised we haven't gotten COMPLETELY insect inspired Sentai. Like red being a spider, black some kind of beetle, green a mantis, yellow a bee, white a moth, and pink a butterfly.

The chemistry with Kamen Rider writes itself and because no one suspects the butterfly.

They've done just about everything else :lol

If you want to throw a curveball, give pink the beetle and red the butterfly. That's what no one would expect :lol

(Oh, and if you want a completely insect team, the spider kind of ruins it. Replace it with something like a firefly or dragonfly or something)

And with that last one you've got me wondering who'd win in a fight, Captain Reynolds or Captain Marvelous.

I wanna see Battle Fever J style suits again at some point.

What I've noticed is that since Gekiranger (arguably since Dekaranger), Sentai series seem to be a blend of two concepts.

Gekiranger = Kung Fu + Animals
Go-Onger = Vehicles + Animals
Shinkenger = Samurai + Origami
Goseiger = Angels + Natural Elements
Gokaiger = Pirates + Space
Go-Buster = Spies + The Internet (+ Animals?)
Kyoryuger = Dinosaurs + Samba/Brazilian Culture
Tokkyuger = Trains + Rainbows


So with that in mind, I propose a few concepts:

Cowboys + Planets (incorporate Roman Gods as needed) - It could be like The Magnificent Seven, with various badass cowboy archetypes from different towns (or in this case, planets) assembled to fight whatever evil organization.

Universal Monsters + Musical Instruments - I just want to see a sentai team composed of members of a rock band and influenced by classic monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, The Creature, and Bride of Frankenstein. How rad would that be? If Kiva can tread in this territory, I have no doubt Toei could do a sentai based on it.

Sports + Animals - Each member is based on a different popular sport, and their robots are called Mascots. Boom.

Medieval Knights + Insects - Combining two of the most sought after concepts. I feel like there's a natural relationship between Knights' armor and insect exoskeletons.


I think any of those would be badass entries to the franchise that still work within the boundaries of the genre.

Well that'd give a new spin on the title of "Ranger".

I'd love to see a cowboy/western theme, but considering the villains in Tokkyuger appear to be western train bandits, I don't see that happening for a while.

Nascar or Professional racing (like a race around the world). I agree with the cowboy thing too. I would also love to see a knight theme. That could be a magiranger level of awsome!

Then we know what the theme for the Cowboy Ranger villains will be: 19th century robber barons! They go from planet to planet stripping it of resources and oh wait we just had this one, didn't we?

Actually a Victorian Steampunk Theme would really, really suit sentai.

I'd love to see a Sentai like Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters. The suits could be Witch Hunting tech, to protect them against Witch magic...and witch piss. And then they could chase witches across the world.

The more I see your username and avatar, the more I would love a Lucha or international competitive team motif. Like one could be a luchador, wrestler, sumo-wrestler, MMA-styled like Gekiviolet, boxer and karate expert (which we kinda had).

I love what dairanger and Gekiranger did with giving each member a different style of fighting.

Although I don't really like Dairanger, I like this concept a lot. Both because it's a cool concept, but also we need at least ONE sentai, where every member can stand on their own and not fall behind.

I bet I've said it numerously in this thread, but that is still what I want from sentai more than anything else. No more Red for Reds sake, no more the developed second in command...and the other boy. No more, we'll we put all this effort into yellow and...wait shit, there was another girl on this team? Oh well.

And it doesn't count, if the team have perfect balance, for a sixth to appear and take over the whole show. As much a I hate the olden day sixths which were basically pointless, I hate it just as much when they appear, function as a one man sentai team and have like every arc for the next twenty episodes dedicated solely to them. So it becomes the sixth, red and the other ones.

Holding out for ToQger to alleviate this problem with its gimmick. But it probably wont.

I have this theory that the sixth ranger in Sentai pretty much was absorption of Rider elements into Sentai that they still haven't gotten rid of. Think about it, a lot of their arcs are about them and them alone, with later integration with the full team once some of the sixth's plot is resolved. Sound familiar?

Anyways, I want to see a Cowboy themed Rider or Sentai. It could work better with Rider though, but who knows if we'll get either.

I'd like to see a time sentai, where every member of the team is from a different era. So it could be like, a cowboy, a tribseman, a sort of Victorian Era gentleman detective, a robot from the future and a modern day martial artist.

That sounds pretty interesting. They'd be from all over the world, but I don't have a problem with that :lol
