So ecstatic that Over-Time is doing it!

Fansubbers aren't obliged to do anything for anyone. They do it as a hobby so there's no point complaining they aren't doing something at a suitable pace when they're free to do it at their own leisure.
|
That was kind slow starting but still a fun ride to sit though

I really hate this attitude you have that people owe you something, a sense of entitlement. Your posts are overly negative, you're rude to other people, and hide it under the guise of an "opinion." I'm telling you, your opinion is wrong. I have never seen someone expect or demand something like this before. Fansub groups don't feel they are better than other people, they don't want others asking questions because do you realize how many questions they would get? It's not that they feel they're holier than thou (that's more your role) but because they cannot answer every single question asked, and most of them are things like this. "When is Timeranger going to be done?" When it's done. If it's a year or 8 years or something, take the hint, they're either not interested in doing it anymore, or something happened to the sub group that was working on that series. They aren't here for you. I've learned through life that if you want something done and you cannot do it yourself, either learn how to do it, or if someone else does it for you, be patient and not demanding. This is a perfect example of what I hate the most about this fandom and why I feel I'm out growing it. Or sick of it, one of the two. So either wait patiently or pick up a translator program and learn Japanese yourself. But stop expecting others who don't even know you and have to put up with thousands of others, like you, to wait on you hand and foot. It's not their only job, nor do they get any sort of pay for it either. EDIT: I originally came in here to talk about Trains. Saw the first ep. Was okay. Like Brainchild, I won't be rushing to see this every week, but it had some good spots. |
Saw the Episode again with way better quality this time. I am still really hyped about everything I saw :lol
The first Episode was definately purely focused to showcase the characters on their most basic level, the gimmick and lots of action. The next Episode has to show how interesting and involved the actual story will be. The whole Norikae Change gimmick is a little superfluous since they could just give each other their weaponry but if that is the way they wanna do it I´m not complaining since it doesnt disturb my personal viewing experience. The Mecha fight was pretty good for a first fight. I am usually not a fan of them but I enjoyed what I saw and its million times better than Kyoryuzins first fight :lol I like all of the characters so far so no complaining their. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that we got so little screentime for the villains. |

Yup it was pretty much just there to show us that there are Villains in this show :lol

I'm sorry. If my posts came off as rude to you, that was not my intention. I am just very vocal about my opinions as I don't believe in holding back my feelings. I'll look over some of my past posts and see if they come off as you say because I am not trying to be so. I'm being serious here. Outside of two instances, I have never meant to come off as rude to anyone. I speak my mind. I love Dai, Jet, Zyu, Gokai, Geki, etc, and always speak highly of them. I hate Gosei, Go_Bus, Go-Ong and have very little positive to see about them. There is nothing I can do about that, but if you can point out to me which posts specifically, I'll see if I can see what you are reading. |
A damn SOLID first episode.
I'm all aboard the TrainBOW! |
Subs are up!
Imagination Station apparently did episode 1 before the announcement that Overtime would be doing it came out. So this is a total one off project. But hey we got subs a little early to check out now! |

Can't wait for this evening! |
If anything watching this subbed was a worse experience than when I watched it raw - wish I could swap my vote to 'average'. The villains motivations are entirely generic when it gets down to it, the backstory and dynamic of the team is poorly plotted and the whole colour swap thing makes even less sense, although the show actually admits it's a bad concept...which I guess makes it better? I think?
'Eh, none of it was unbearable but it's still frustrating for a show with such awesome designs and action. Absolutely love the Conductor as well, 'IMARGEENAYSHARN!'. |
I really really loved it more with subs. They always give much context to scenes that need it. Like at the end when Ticket says they were all chosen to be ToQgers because they're essentially doomed to die :lol
Generic motivations aside those villain designs are amazing. General Schwarz is the most metal of metal bad guys ever. The Crows are a great design, but pulling a Magiking 24/7 and tipping their hats in the middle of fights is weird and pointlessly leaves them open. The show is self aware that some of what it does is ridiculous, and it mildly breaks the 4th wall to interact with us while questioning it's absurdity. I actually really really love this. If anything the subs made this first stop (oh yes I punned it) even more enjoyable than I thought it'd be. Can't wait to be back with more next week! |

I don't have a problem with opinions, but try to be more open-minded about them. Put yourself in their shoes instead of thinking someone owes you something. Just because someone starts something, doesn't mean they will finish it. Things happen, change, and in the end, it's a free service to you that honestly is quite thankless and unappreciated. I understand not wanting to hold your feelings back, but you should when the situation calls for it, like this scenario. |

I will say that I kinda liked that they pointed out the ridiculousness, but it also made me wonder why they bothered to keep the colour swap in at all if even the show thinks it's dumb. I personally think it's gonna get old so fast if they keep this gag a running thing. |
I like that it gives an in-show reason the villains can't just interrupt them while they're morphing. The characters...eh, they're alright. Red was way different than what I thought he was gonna be though. Blue is my favorite so far, I guess. Hopefully they all get more characterization later down the line.
The color switch thing....yeah not really a fan, nor do I see a real point. Though my real problem with it is that they have to physically swap the power train cell things. Seems to slow everything down. Though I kinda like how far they're going with the train theme. Villains didn't do much so far, but I like their designs. Well most of them. We'll see how they shape up later. The finisher was...interesting. I liked how the monster didn't know what the fuck was going on either though. The conductor is amazing though. I have no idea what his deal is, but so far he's cool. That twist, he, or...I guess the puppet spilled at the end was interesting. I wonder how they're gonna expand on that next episode. Anyway, I thought it was an okay first episode. Definitely liked it better than Kyoryuger's first ep. |
I'd say it'll be used on occasion. Mostly just to confuse enemies. But I highly doubt that by the time 6/Rokugo is introduced that it'll still be in use. It's one of those gimmicks that is fun for a bit and on hte occasional use, but will probably fade to the background rather quick. I have to say I liked it though.

Personally I'll be glad if it's gone, sooner rather than later.

OK, I'm all aboard for this series.
The cast is very likeable & they bounce off each other well; they have good chemistry and I look forward to learning more about them. While Right is noble enough to charge into battle, he's not smart enough to win right away- a great change in the Red Ranger dynamic after King Daigo's unstoppable awesomeness. Themesong is much calmer than last year but I enjoy the rhythm more. Villains are interesting, since they mention "preparing for the Emperor" that likely means more joining their side as time goes by. While things did seem fairly fast-paced for a first episode the action was well-shot and ToQOh's fight was definitely worth watching. I had no idea they'd go this all-out with the train theme but I like what I'm seeing so far. And that ending comment from Ticket... if it means what people think it means than all of a sudden this series has a distractingly dark undertone. Overall a very satisfying start to a very promising new show! :D |
From what little we know about Tokkyuger it's not going to want to pull its punches anytime soon. That bombshell at the end with our newest Rangers.... Is the Conductor really on their side or will he end up using them to further his own dark designs?
It's not the strongest start but overall it's a good enough beginning. I'm willing to ride the rails with Trainbow and figure out what's what with the Train Sentai! |

Well damn it, I tried deleting all of my downloads of the file and that still took my back to the Adobe Reader, so I guess I'll just have to figure something out in the morning. This sucks.

Maybe this show will have hidden depth, and do a full on Urobutcher on us. It certainly has all the set up with the IMAGINATION and all the bright colours and general goofiness to suddenly pull the rug right from under us.
I mean the dark overtones are already there from get go honestly, from the nightmarish designs of the villains and the kidnapping of kids with some weird demon train only children can see. I kinda assumed the whole dead thing would be an asspull as it seems way too early to land something like that in our laps, but who knows right now. It's probably the only time actually watching this subbed added to the experience. |
Just watched episode 1. I'm late to the party!
Well that was a lot of fun. Cool cast, good looking design work, interesting train-fight scenes, very atmospheric bad guys. I dig it. Not sure I really see the point of the color change gimmick. Maybe the chaos if causes gives them some sort of advantage? Although, it's fun to see a male pink for a change. I wasn't blown away by the action choreography. Seemed like there could have been a grander statement made with the first action scenes. Love that this year's theme is imagination. I think that will lead to some creative episodes down the line. And that was a cool implication in the cliffhanger. I'm struggling to see why none of the subbers are into this series. It's totally fun! And when was the last time the first episode of a sentai was indicative of the series to come? I'm liking where the show is headed. I'm excited for the ride. |

So I've kinda been down on this show since day one. I thought the suits were awful, the mech was lame, and that Toq5 looked like the most insufferable character since BoukenYellow. And honestly, given most of the mixed response I've seen so far I pretty much went into this expecting it to suck and that I could keep ignoring Super Sentai for another year.
Now I'm not going to rush to judgement and I am going to give the show a few weeks to really settle into its groove, but so far? I think I may have been wrong. I'm liking a what I'm seeing so far. I'm liking it a lot. The suits actually look really good in action and the villain designs are gorgeous. Even Toq-Oh looks much better in motion than I ever thought it would (I'm kinda loving the stretching limbs). The color swapping gimmick is weird and kind of confusing, but the show is looking to have fun with it - I actually liked how Right just kept grabbing the others' trains until Owner... er, Conductor pretty much told him to knock it the fuck off. :lol Actually, I'm liking the humor on this show in general... for the most part. Toq5 I'm still a little iffy on, but so far she's reminding me a lot of Doc from Gokaiger as much, if not more, than of Natsuki. Yeah, she's got that "look at me, I'm acting like a toddler so you'll think I'm cute!" thing going on, but it's less insufferable so far. The self-awareness gags, though - like the monster's multiple "what the hell is going on here?" reactions - did amuse me a lot. And then there's Owner... er, Conductor. It's pretty obvious now why they got Kobayashi to write this show: there are a lot of obvious Den-O influences here. Trains flying in mid-air, weird old dude in charge of the train, very Denliner-y interior to the Rainbow Liner, the Naomi-esque robot chick we've seen pictures of... this cannot be coincidental. I actually got a lot of Den-O nostalgia while watching this. The plot for this episode itself was pretty rushed and I don't feel like I have a good handle on all of the characters beyond the standard Sentai archetypes they fit into (aside from Toq4, who is pretty much a total cipher at this point). The pacing was really fast, too - the show is not introducing things slowly. It kinda works, but it's very different from the more determined pacing of its Superhero Time partner. I expect it will slow down after this, but the first episode really didn't give you any time to catch your breath. But yeah, I really liked it. I have a lot of high hopes for this season now, although I do have to acknowledge that I thought the same about Kyoryuger at this point and we all know how that turned out. Fingers crossed, though, because this episode was a lot of fun. tl;dr version: :thumb: |
