Man I wish I had his painting skillz...
Still with exams over I can finally finish mine off and do a little photoshoot with them =] I really hope they don't hold Beet and Stag back till August so they can throw the frog in the assortment... |
I have a few questions regarding the candy to go-buster-oh.
First off I have difficulties with my hand eye co-ordination so I find fiddly things rather difficult. I believe I won't have any problems putting it together. Now for my questions. Which parts need to have stickers applied and are they difficult to apply for someone who hasn't built models for about 13 years? How durable is the kit? Thank you |
Most of the stickers are easy to apply, its only the tiny ones like the face detailing that can be a bit tricky.
The kits are pretty durable too, Go-BusterOh is just a brick but the individual kits are really sturdy even with articulation. Obviously its not the highest quality of plastic but they're still good. |
After getting a nearly complete Goseiger set yesterday from Hyre, I decided to start building the kits starting with Gosei Great. It was definitely a fun build and I took my time with the stickers so hopefully they'll stay on for a while. I will probably paint it eventually but for now I'm going to leave it stickered. Gotta say this little guy is pretty impressive! Although the transformation is simple (I think it's even easier than Gokaioh) the posability and detail is great! Definitely makes me not want the DX version though as I hate the idea of paying $70+ for a mecha that barely transforms (made that mistake with Gokaioh already :D). Tonight I'm going to try and build Gosei Ground.
|
i got most of the gokaiger line, i want the goseigreat and ground so badly. and to keep the stickers on, i place the stickers on as normal, then i got some clear nail polish (ya i know it wierd get over it) and coated everything in it. they seem to be sticking fairly well and now everything has a shiny glossy finish:D
|
Goseiground is quite the parts former, but the combination with gosei great more than makes up for their simplicities. Definitely my favourite minipla kit out of what I own and one of my favourite figures out of all the lines that I collect.
|
i just saw the design on gobuster cheetahs shoulder.... O MY GOD GOBUSTERS IS PART OF GOGOV!!!!!!
|
I need to get the Goseiger mecha :( the Ebi and Ika origamis from Shinkenger are another 2 pretty high on my want list.
|
ANy idea when the Beet Buster mecha are due out for Minipla?

Now I'm intrigued at the combination...definitely have to try that tonight :D I also have Datas Hyper, all three header sets, Gosei Wonder and Gosei Ultimate to build. It's going to be a busy week lol. I'm interested in seeing the combo between Great, Ground and Datas! |
i think that combo exists. but yeah just get the little bottle thing. word of warning: scrape most of the stuff off on the rim of the bottle, DO NOT drown the sticker it turns them into a slip and slide and will never stick on. if you want it to be glossier do a second coat wen its drys
|
I have the second edition Gosei Great, and I find it to be a bit of a letdown. The only improvement it has over the first edition is the use of metallic sticker sheets. Gosei Shark is still molded in white, thus painting it is a must. The lower legs split to improve stability in standing poses, but the ball joints supporting the halves tend to pop off very easily.
It's not a bad kit, but because I had finished assembling Gokaioh and GekiTouja, I was expecting something equally solid. The only reason why I got Gosei Great was to do a 199 Hero Great Battle tribute slideshow. Check out my other slideshows here. |
y must all have goseigreat! :'(

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...c8c218d591.jpg Finally got round to taking pictures of my Go-buster-oh and GT-02 and RH-03, so prepare for a small image dump. The gang: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0801.jpg GT-02 and RH-03: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0792.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0793.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0795.jpg Go-buster-oh... I find him awkward to pose, so i didn't bother =p http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0776.jpg Flying Kick: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0785.jpg And this photo tells me I need to touch up my paint =P But it's my little mod to the mask, i thought it stuck out too far with the way it attached before, so my fix for it is friction =p http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0783.jpg And one because it's epic, flash drowned him a bit though =/ http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/DSCN0803.jpg |
How long has that been floating around? :lol
The beetles look really good, probably won't be able to afford them 'til around August but no biggie. That's some really nice paint detailing you've done on Go-BusterOh too RiderSkyward, I didn't even bother attempted the mask because it was such a pain so I give you major props simply for trying. |
Cheers man, the stickers just weren't doing it for me so i figured i'd give it a go.
I think it appeared last week maybe. They look pretty damn good to me, but I'm definitely going to have to paint them both in a nice silver and gold =p |

I use a bit of superglue on the back of the stickers to get them to stay tight. |
i dont quite understand wat ur sayin
if u meant is there a difference between the glossy and nonglossy i usually coathe entire part, usually i coat the entire toy, only wen its in pieces so to not ruin the joints |

ya, but be careful!
|
I have just one more question.
Are there any tools I will need before getting the mini pla go-buster-oh/ Thank you |
hmmm. nail clipper so to get it off the spru... id suggest clear nail polish or super to keep stickers on, the super glue is easy to figure out how to use, the nail polish ull have to look back in the thread a little bit to see. but ya i think thats it
|
By nail clippers do you mean the small scissors?
|
With minipla you can just push them off the sprue, but you might need an exacto/sand paper to get rid of the plastic nub marks.
|
no i mean like fingernail/toenail clippers, although if there sharp enough i guess scissors could work potentionally

two little curved blades on two pieces of metal connected and a third piece to push one blade on the other

Looks good.
I'm going to CA for 8 days this weekend. I'm trying to decide if I should take the Go-Busters, or Gokaiger mechs to paint and assemble while I'm there. Or if I should take MG Figurerise Skull. It's hard to gauge just how much time I'll have to work on them. |
dont take skull, too many small pieces for one of those crappy small hotel tables
|
Well, it's actually a really nice beach house my in-laws are renting for the week, but there are also going to be 25-ish nieces/nephews, so the 'too many small pieces' thing probably holds.
So the Gokai-machines and Go-Buster-Oh it is! |
ya. have fun stickering every single part of patstriker! >:D
|
I've already done Patstriker. I put on the stickers with the Gokai-logo and the rainbow stripes, and painted the rest. I thought I had a picture of it somewhere, but I can't find it, I'll have to take one.
I think it looks pretty good. I went and got a spray can of some clear coat, and it made it look pretty swell, in my opinion. I plan on taking the spray and a bunch of paint markers to replace most of the stickers. |
