the first episode was better than a exspected, i dont like whatnive seen of the pink ranger as of right now anyway she may get better but for now i dont like her.
|
Well, that was better than expected. I haven't watched since RPM but everyone else's opinions haven't been good so my expectations weren't so high.
I think it was a good choice to introduce rangers more gradually and I'm liking Shelby so far. Original footage is always good and the villains seem fun this time round. |
Well that was different.
Looking forward to the rest |
Hey guys, does Nick.com post PR on their site on a consistent basis? How did they do with PRMF and PRS with that?

The episodes were always up the day after it aired on nick.com. So check in on Sunday after episode 2

Honestly better than I was expecting. I was not a fan of Kyoryuger, the dancing/music gimmick just grated on me way too much. But I really liked the suits for the rangers and the mecha, so I'm really happy to have a show featuring them that I actually care to watch.
Some of the acting was really cringe-worthy though. I kinda expect that out of Power Rangers, but moments here seemed particularly egregious to me. Not enough to put me off the show by any means, but it was noticeable. I liked how much of the episode was new footage, and the direction they're going instead of just copying Kyoryuger. Definitely something the series needs to be doing more of. Definitely off to a good start. |

You know some people just like like talking to themselves. Some of the best chats I've had have been with me, myself and I.

Well, I don't mind the fact that Dino Charge is different than Kyoryuger, but I'm rather underwhelmed by its first episode. That Yoda character who gave the batteries to the dinosaurs was rather cringe-worthy, and I don't really like the Red & Pink rangers. Anyway, I do like Kyoryuger and I hope PR DC will be better in the next episode.

Just caught the episode.
Was that all original footage (barring the clips in the opening)? I'm impressed with how well it flowed, if anything. And Shelby basically being the main character of this episode was a solid move in my opinion. I might actually follow up on a few episodes if it keeps up the quality. |

No, I talk to myself, too at times

This far surpassed my admittedly low expectations.
Being a 100% original episode seriously helped. That was awesome. My only issue was with Keeper... His massive, flat, unmoving face is just really awkward. I don't hate him for existing like some seem to (not using the Torin suit for the mentor role is a shame; it could still get used somewhere though), he just doesn't look. His character's fine. Loved the tease of the Zords to come by the dinos that answered Keeper's call. Dang, Fury, Poisondra, and company are old! It's really interesting that we don't see the whole team morph for the first time either. That's some nice focus early on. |
Does anyone have a link to the episode that is not Nick as i cant watch nick.com or the channel because my cable company is evil thanks!

I gave all of my thoughts on our two episodes of Ranger Command and one on Talkin Toku, but I loved it and I am really excited for the future of this show.

I can't......dang it....
I really wanted to mega dislike this new series. But I just can't. The entire setup of the series works so much better than Megaforced. Making Shelby the initial focus was a great idea. Keeper, and even Fury aren't bad characters, even though Torin will be missed. Master Sledge I'm sure will look like something else by the time we're done. My only gripe are the voice actor for Poisandra. Candelira's voice was so...amazing. It's hard to put that into comparison. Still, this might be the first Ranger series I care about watching weekly since RPM. When even the theme song doesn't bug me I know it's going to be better than Megaforced. Pros: Like the background similarities between Tyler and Daigo Shelby focused background works well Little KyuRyuger footage, more original content. Probably won't last, but definitely welcome Small Jungle Fury in joke for nostalgia Good dialogue, non-wooden actors, good timing on the story points Some of the generals are still in the series. Good foreshadowing for everything else in the series. Amber Beach is about as good a generic town name as Angel Grove. I can dig it. With a shovel. And a bucket. Kendall aka DC Purple is my kinda hotness. Cons: Shelby is the worst waitress ever. Ernie would have fired her. Adele would have set her straight. The Keeper is what happens when you let Pikachu near ET. Bad Pikachu! So what, Sledge is like Boba Fett, but whipped? And why collect a bunch of asteroids and bounties and not drop them off to get paid? Isn't that a bad idea? And I'm going to permanently call him Sledgy. I miss Nossan's puns. |
Okay, so with episode 2 airing I decided to see if I could find the first episode on Hulu.
I could not. But I did find a mid-quality illegal upload on a popular video streaming site, so I guess I do have a workaround if Viacom is going to continue to be a giant bag of dicks (which they are, because they're Viacom). It was... I'm not sure how to describe it. It's a modern Power Rangers series, but it didn't make me want to pour bleach in my ear in the hopes that it would scrub my brain clean. Is there a word that means the opposite of "bad," because I think this show is actually un-terrible. The plot isn't just the first episode of Kyoryuger with "all-powerful perfect messiah who is benevolent enough to grace we foul mortals with his majestic presence" crossed out and "Tyler" written in. The majority of the actors seem to actually be decent at their jobs, with Tyler in particular having both a knowledge of and ability to use emotions. The villains, despite having the same costumes, aren't intolerable (and with Sledge around, they even have something to make them look good in comparison to). The CGI was... better than Birdemic. Mostly. I think... I think this show might have potential. I mean, I'm sure Saban and Nickelodeon will find some way to totally fuck it up in the end, but I actually want to see more instead of returning to ignoring the franchise for another year. |
