Can someone explain to me why God of War looks like "The Last of Us: Viking Edition" now? I mean I get that that's the prolouge of the game, but theres stuff like "Location Discovered" or Viking-Kratos getting experience in tracking which confuses me. I mean... tracking?! Isn't GoW the game which throws enemies at you to murder them with your epicness? Also is this a reboot or not? If so why make the new protagonist look like Kratos with a beard? Or is it Kratos who started a new live after GoW 3?

As for Crash Bandicoot, the Skylanders thing was inevitable, but it still sucks. At least they remake the first three games, not just port them with slightly better graphics. I hope they understand how Crash is supposed to work and build on the formula to make the games even better.

Also: I hope they make some more cutscenes, for the first game especially. And please, just remove Tawna from the first game. Replace her with Coco if you need to keep the Damsel in Distress plot alive (for whatever reason), but please, get rid of Tawna for good this time.

Its sonething that was rumored a while ago that the new gane is set in scandinavia with Kratos trying to start a new life. So this tine he will fight creatures and gods from norse mythology.

The presentation itself was really good, their setup was really cool looking, and the live orchestra was AMAZING. I hope they do that again, because that was easily the best part.

We only know the details of what they showed us. I'm so tired of everyone jumping to conclusions on this game when we saw what was mayb 10 minutes of an 8+ hour experience.

What we do know is this is years after the third game. Pandora's hatred has been flushed from Kratos' system and he washed up in Norway.

I'm sure it will become more like a traditional GoW game as it continues on, but I like what we hae seen so far because we have already had six games in one style, it was time for a change. That is why I was so hesistant on a new game because I never expected Sony to change up the formula.

As for the EXP, it seems like it was more going towards his son than anything else. Something is probably going to happen at the beginning of the game that is going to send Kratos into Fury mode.

I see… I still don’t get why they use Kratos then. If they want to go a completely different route in terms of gameplay, using the old protagonist is a bad idea IMO. God of War set in Nordic mythology is not a bad thing, and neither is the system with the kid, but I feel like Kratos is completely out of place here.

They should’ve created a new protagonist.

I agree, but it's branding. People hate Halloween III just because Michael isn't in it. Nevermind that it is an excellent horror movie, it doesn't feature Michael, so it sucks.

Only other thing we'll be seeing from Nintendo today is a bit of Sun & Moon gameplay, which is happening now. Nothing new there yet.

As far as Zelda goes, it's pretty and looks promising, but I don’t know if I want to purchase an NX yet and I don’t think it will look anything close to this one the WiiU.

This is the direction action games are heading. I personally think it looks pretty awesome, and I haven't been interested in GoW for YEARS. And why would they need to make a new character? Do you really want to see angry Kratos from the past 4 games AGAIN? Change isn't a bad thing, especially when you have 4 games that are all the exact same thing.

They're not remakes, they're the old games with slightly better graphics.

I wish they would just re-issue the originals without the bullshit remasters. Just keep the games how they are meant to be. I hate that video games can't replay on older systems or be re-release similar like how movies are. Classic movies are always put on Netflix or get re-release in theaters for one day. I wish video games had a Netflix type of system where people can play older games via streaming. I know emulators exist, but they are not legit systems.

That is an attitude I never understood. No one is taking the old games away. Just because they re-release them on newer consoles with some better graphics doesnt mean you are forbidden to enjoy the originals.

And not everyone is a hardcore gamer that they are willing to overlook the outdated graphics to enjoy the gameplay. Especially older 3D games that look awful today. 2D is a style that aged great but playstation? Terrible. So if a game from that era I never played comes out with graphics that look a lot better I am all for it.

Nintendo's conference was a travesty, if you can even call it a conference. They spent 55 minutes on Pokemon to the point where it was pretty much a Let's Play and then a mini Let's Play on the new Zelda. If Nintendo only had two games to show, they shouldn't have even bothered with a conference type stream. They did though, and therefore it is only fair to grade them like every other conference, and I give them a big giant E for EPIC FAILURE!! They have pretty much ignored all of the other 3DS games they have coming out for just Pokemon and telling us redundant information. They couldn't even be bothered to make a trailer of their upcoming games.

The new Zelda looks like The Witcher meets The Wind Waker and I can not wait for it. Of course, I'm not sure I'm willing to buy a new console for it.

That is true. I do wish we would have more stuff similar to the virtual console on the PS4 and Xbox One. People like me like to play things on how they are originally made. With the VC on the Wii U, I like how they keep games on how they are. However I do feel like emulators on the PC have hurt possible classic game re-releases because people can download them for free on their PC.

I also feel like if they do remasters, they should give people the choice to play the original as well. If you look at Star Wars, you can watch the original and remastered editions on DVD. I don't know why video games can't be the same.

It's a God of War game, so of course it'll have Kratos. It's just a different Kratos. If they removed Kratos it'd basically be something completely different. So I'm not really sure what YOU were getting at lol. You want a new game that's God of War but doesn't play like the old games and doesn't have Kratos?

Technically, a remaster is just the original game but updated resolution and cleaned up. It wasn't until recently that companies started actually re-doing things, which I don't really like. People expect completely updated visuals and improved menus and stuff like that. I just want the game with better resolution and widescreen.

I'd like to see a God of War game without Kratos. He's kind of a horrible protagonist. The whole tragedy in his story has kind of stopped justifying his actions come GOW 2.

I think it'd be cool to have a game like MGS2 or DMC4, where they'd make Kratos a character in the game but you don't play as him.

See, that's exactly it: Kratos being in this game is the only thing that makes this God of War, so why have him? Kratos is tied to Greek mythology and the iconic GoW-style of gameplay, changing everything around him makes him look out of place.

It's like you make a movie about a sci-fi spacefighter pilot, but then decide you want to have the setting to be the Wild West. With a small western town, gunfights at high noon and all that good stuff. Do you keep the pilot as your main character? No, you choose a cowboy or a sheriff or something like that.

The new God of War game looks like a spin-off or a completely different game yet Kratos is there. It's just not working.

Spin-offs that focus on different gods of war from other mythologies have been discussed in the past so I don’t get why they can’t make a clean cut and tell a new story. Or you now, don’t call the game God of War if it’s just not looking like it. But as Dr. Kain said, they want to push a well known franchise. It's just not feeling right to me.

And if they want to have Kratos visit other mythologies then they should better make the game feel like a God of War game. This is looking like a more action based The Last of Us, not God of War.

That’s my problem with the game. Feels nothing like God of War, but is called God of War and Kratos is there. If it would be a spin-off title with a new main character but also set in the GoW-universe (only in a different part of the world at a different time) then fine. If it would be a new GoW sequel where Kratos goes north to beat up some Nordic gods in his classic style with a few new twists and turns to the formula, also fine.

But this game is neither of those things, that’s my issue with it.

Xenoverse 2 looks good. I did wish we got a new Power Rangers game announcement. I wish PR would get a good game like Transformers and TMNT did. I mean Power Rangers has the same nostalgia value as Ninja Turtles and Transformers. Platinum Games making a PR game would be awesome.

Well for one thing, GoWII and III were all one long game just broken up.

Also, the tragedy was he went insane from Pandora's Box. Look at how he was in the first game to the second and third games. Remember, he opened up Pandora's Box in the first game, and in doing so, made everyone go crazy and they all became bloodthirsty and vengeful from it.
