Does seriously enjoying Decade count? I'm a bit out of touch, so I'm not sure if any bad talk I hear is playful ribbing or genuine loathing.

For me, it's the wasted potential; it's a great premise that never really lives up to itself. The ending is just like the end of an episode - like there wasn't one. I still enjoyed it, despite that; the concept was cool (Dr. Who in DC's Crisis with a smidge of Quantum Leap) and the actors were likable.

I liked him too. The fact that he's, ya know, one of the few humans in Faiz that isn't a complete asshole helps his case a lot. He was just a sweet guy who wanted to see everybody happy. He's probably the person who suffers the most from Faiz's whole 'lack of communication' thing. Horrible things keep happening to his friends and nobody cares enough to tell him what's going one.

As for my unpopular opinion... I actually don't have a problem with child actors. Most people can't stand them but I usually think they're fine.

Kuuga was too slow and boring for me.

The Gaim soccer movie and ep tie-in put me off Gaim for 3 weeks after I watched them. So as a result both can suck it.

Let's Go Kamen Riders was a horrible start to the 40th anniversary of KR and is the worst KR movie I've ever seen.

No, I liked the Soccer movie. Yes it threw me off hecause I didn't know it was an actual tie-in. I actually skipped the movie (as I do with all movies), and was kind of messed up/confused. So I went and watched it. I liked it.

Kiva got better for me after I watch it a few years later. I wasn't that in to it back when it air in 2008. Gaim's movie was horrible because of forcing the soccer gimmick in to it, but I like that every main characters's lines is a summary of their roles in the tv series like what Takatora, Ryoma, and Sid said.

All other neo riders sucked until Decade came around. Kamen Rider Decade should have a yearly 13 part episode just to keep us all informed on what new adventures he's going through.

Kamen Rider Drive was a stupid concept. Hey, now hear me out... Instead of the Rider riding a motorcycle.....lets get crazy and put him in a car. :rolleyes

Instead of Amazons, it should've been Kamen Rider Ghosts.

I’d like to see a female secondary rider. I doubt this will happen because, as Annuga said, Rider’s target audience is young males.

Meanwhile, it's the first Rider series since Kuuga to actually make extensive use of the vehicle past the first five episodes.

I also think they might be able to get away with it in an adult-oriented movie or series. The target audience, while still presumably largely male, is probably past their "ewww girls" phase at that point.

That's not really true, the Riders in Faiz and Blade at least made frequent use of their bikes throughout the entire show.

Never had a problem with this, the last few rider barely used the bike.

So far kamen rider Marika is the only female rider that have decent amount of serious action. Cutie Honey and Sailormoon live action is the closest we have to a female tokusatsu.


Rx drive a car too. I'm more bothered by the fact we rarely see insect theme riders. Gatakiriba from Os is like the last insect theme riders I can think of. Remember the times Showa era and Heisei era was dominated by insect riders. Since riders isn't doing it anymore. We should do a full insect theme sentai next year like beet/stag gobuster and two from hurricangers.

Would making him a clown rider who rides a motorized unicycle make it better? :lolol

There is one, she's in Ex-Aid and she's calledKamen Rider Poppy. Nico also is kind of a Rider, though she just uses a generic Chronicle suit so I don't know if you count that?

The show was very car-themed, it wouldn't really make sense for the main Rider to have a motorcycle. At least the side Riders had bikes.

Which leads me to my controversial opinion: what's the big deal with bikes? I've never watched Kamen Rider to see him riding around on a motorcycle, and I've never really been particularly fond of motorcycle sequences in the shows. I don't really understand why people get upset when there's not a lot of motorcycle action in Kamen Rider shows, other than "but it's called Kamen RIDER" or "it's tradition!" Like...sometimes there just isn't room in the plot for motorcycle sequences...

It's akin to Super Sentai becoming a solo hero series.

At least for me, I feel like bikes are something that hypothetically makes Kamen Rider distinct, and when given some love, you can end up with a guy like Kuuga, who basically made a martial art out of fighting monsters on two wheels.

It's just something that varies up the action a lot from the usual stuff and given that bikes are always going to be part of the franchise's ~iconography~, it always feels really lame to me when they just get forgotten about. Look at Ex-Aid. Everyone is actively called a Rider in that show but only Ex-Aid himself has even rode a bike, and even then only like three times in 30 episodes.

That's why the Tridoron is one of my favorite bikes even though it's a car. The guy was called Drive, and he actually drove places. It was a way more refreshing and novel concept than it should've been. :lol

Wizard wasn't all that bad.

The idea that a Kamen Rider needs a motorcycle is sorta just part of its imagery. Yeah, they rarely ride them at times, but Kamen Rider is synonymous with a dude who riders a motorcycle. So, at the very least, they need to be there for promo and stuff. Drive was pretty much just a one off to have some fun. Tridoron didn't sell very well but it was clearly an attempt at giving Rider an extra big ticket item they could toss out into the toy line fairly early.

But yeah, when done well, man is the bike fighting a lot of fun.

Except the Fushigi comedy tokusatsu shows exist and those are as "female tokusatsu" as you can get. Not to mention the Wecker series.

I guess the whole "he rides a motorcycle" thing has always seemed kind of gimmicky to me, and it seems weird for the franchise that's basically the "face" of tokusatsu to have a gimmick like that.

Its not that it was bad, it is just there were things that could of been done better. Like the main villain who I had a couple issues with. They didn't really try to hide the fact that he was that one mage, he also was kind of a bland villain. While he had a goal that I did like, he had nothing that made him really memorable. He wanted Haruto to get stronger but not too strong, so why was he not Haruto's teacher? That was the one idea I had to fix Wizard, make him a main charcter that could help Haruto with his magic. That way he can make sure Haruto is not too strong and appear as though he cared about Haruto so when it is revealed that he was Wiseman people can go "Oh crap!" instead of a bored "oh ok". Also I still go on about it when ever I remember Wizards but . . . WHAT DID GREMLIN MEAN BY HE WANTED TO BE HUMAN?!?!?!

Of course there are people who like Kiva. I love the show since he was my first rider. Kinda wish I had more Kiva toys. I will gladly defend but not to the extent of Fish Sandwich when he defends Ghost.

I've never seen the show but I believe its live action version of Pretty Cure. Its made by the same people who made the Tomica Hero series and Ryukendo.

Yeah, it does give me a similar vibe to what I've seen of those shows.

Cutie Honey the Live and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon are female-led tokusatsu.

I didn't really notice it at first but I watched the opening again after you mentioned that and I think I agree with you. I specifically get Ryukendo vibes from the villains and the part where the girls where striking, for lack of a better term, battle poses at about 1:00. Takara Tomy has some really wacky villain designs don't they.

That show's actually headed up by Takashi Miike. It's not the sort of project I ever expected from someone like him. His previous tokusatsu series was Keitai Sosakan 7 but he's mostly known for doing super violent and bizarre movies.

(I saw the first two episodes of Idol Miracle Tunes and...uh, it's not for me, it's literally a live action idol superhero show)

See, and the Tridoron is my absolute favorite rider machine, I think. Cars like that are just cooler than motorcyles will ever be to me.

That said, I really like riders having vehicles of any type, no matter how seldom they use them. Really helps the series stand out to me.
