Boom Studios could still be allowed to publish their comics, it just wouldn’t be the Hasbro Universe canon version that IDW is doing for the other Hasbro brands. But if Hasbro goes full reboot, then I reckon they’ll want all existing stuff shuttered to make way for it.

For context, Hasbro ordered IDW to wrap up their Transformers comic, so all attention can be put on the Hasbro Universe from next year, which IDW is a creative partner on. They love their full on reboots. They also cancelled the current animated Transformers series, for the same reason.

Very different scenario here. Bandai for one has a financial stake in Toei now. They can probably work something out, but I think Toei is just walking away. Simple as that. Hasbro can do whatever they want, the franchise is divorcing from Super Sentai.

I just found a mistype in Hasbro's Announcement. It should be "Saban Brands, Power Rangers and Other Entertainment Assets" not "Saban Brands' Power Rangers and Other Entertainment Assets". Also it says they are getting Saban Brands in the title of the announcement. Because if it was just Power Rangers it would have just said Saban's Power Rangers not Saban Brands' Power Rangers.

While streaming has altered the way of some people are consuming their entertainment. I don't think we will see the end of boradcast and cable. For example even with expansion of movies and television were seen as something that would end radio and yet we still have radio stations. Streaming is just a new media format.

Dunno. They've got their own game studio now, and the Transformers Earth Wars apparently did pretty well, so hopefully even if Legacy wars ends we'll get something good.

Heck Rangers kinda makes sense sharing a universe with Rom and Micronaugts.
RID had also run it's course and told it's story. The same thing may apply as well for the comics. At the very least James Roberts has reached the point where he's wrapping up the story he's been telling.

And Power Rangers itself is a franchise that reboots every year- er few years.

No but you see, Divagaox is a consultant for a completely different company, and lives in a part of the world that neither Hasbro nor Toei work out of, so obviously he's correct.

I almost mentioned that. I guess it would be possible for Hasbro to make their original live action Power Rangers shows. They would still pay Toei to make original suits for the Rangers, Zords and Monsters. HG made Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles without dubbing and adapting any of the Macross sequels.

So the idea of a original live action PR series is not totally impossible.

I see people sharing a picture of that caped pink ranger on Facebook a lot. Is that Ranger Slayer? I think a figure of that could probably do pretty well.

I was under the impression the mecha she uses the one that looks like it's made up of different parts of the Thunderzords is Rangerslayer I could be wrong. Actually, I want figures of the caped Pink, the mecha and Lord Dakkon.

It's not a mistype. Hasbro hasn't bought Saban Brands, they've bought a handful of franchises from them. Saban Brands as a company is still around, and they have other franchises still.

Well Hasbro doesn't have Jurassic Park/World anymore, that's at Mattel now.

I just realized that the only two animated action shows that Hasbro has done recently are the Prime Wars trilogy, which is terrible, and Cyberverse, which hasn't aired yet but sounds like kiddy garbage (And I was one of the people who thought RiD was really good).

So if Hasbro is going to be making Power Rangers into an animated series, then we can expect garbage, or what we've been getting already but without any of the fun stuff involving the Sentai. I mean, obviously they COULD try and make it a quality show, but considering what Power Rangers is, I really doubt they'd try.

I doubt that Saban would want he's franchise again in the future, i think he's done for now.

He's still involved with the franchise as a creative consultant. He hasn't left it at all.

Mattel may have had the license for the Centurion toys, but the franchise belongs to a separate company altogether.

I personally would like to see a reimagining of the original MMPR as an animated show taking cues from the BOOM! comics and have it streaming on Netflix while they continue to make live action seasons using sentai footage.
