Also for every watered down show we could get, we could also get stuff like Time Force or RPM |
Do not forget this tonight peeps!!

Kinda mad it's at 12 and not 1 tbh.
|
I would be fine if we got official Kamen Rider subs and dubs in the US. With dubs, they have gotten better over in the years (You still had good dubs back then too). Shin Godzilla's dub was pretty good and felt like it was dub seriosuly than the old Godzilla dubs.

Stream starts in roughly quarter of an hour!!

The mooks look awesome, Valkyrie's confirmed to be a woman and the driver voice is ridiculously smooth. I likey
|
Hiden Aruto (Zero-One) looks like if Kairi and Geiz had a love child. XD I'm loving everything I've seen in this conference. I'm dead. Slain. DESTROYED!!

It's written by the Ex-Aid writer and directed by the director who done Zi-O, Zyuohger and Lupin vs Pat. So I think we're in for a good time

Ooooh, it's gonna take some episodes for me to get used to his voice coming from that suit.
Anyhow, trailer was cool and it gives me the impression that it's gonna be a complicated premise that has a serialised story like Ex-Aid and Build. I like both those shows so that's nice to me |

Ghost's composer is returning, one of the things people would consistent'y praise about Ghost was the OST so this should be good
|
The show looks good overall and I like the Driver, but the suits still look like local heroes and don't do much for me. I'm jazzed for a female Rider, though. I am eager to know when the toys will be going up for pre-order at Japanese sites. I need the bonus Ridewatch.
|
Aruto: I AM IRON RIDER. :lolol
|
I like the premise of human-AI robots that can be hacked (lol those Chobit/To Heart's Multi ears). I like the designs. I like the characters. The only thing that can really screw this up is the stupid comedy that completely destroys any semblance of weight or gravitas. That one scene in the trailer where he does that exaggerated expression when it's revealed he's the CEO of the company has me worried, but otherwise, the trailer looks promising.

They showed a snippet of the opening and although they're not ready to announce who's on it, it sounds like the guys who sang Gaim's OP

Zero-One and other Riders is awesome!!! :D

"Kamen Rider Zero-One takes place in a world where society has developed artificial intelligence systems to help them with everyday tasks. The main Rider is Hiden Aruto, who is the new CEO of the company Hiden Intelligence, who creates a lot of these AI systems.
The villains of this show are a terrorist group of hackers who can hijack AI systems and cause them to go on a rampage. Because of this, and Anti-AI System group known as A.I.M.S. uses Rider technology (Vulcan and Valkyrie) to destroy rampaging AI systems." I see why they got Ex-Aid's writer back, Ex-Aid felt like it wanted to do a "Fuck CEOs" theme but the writer didn't really get the hang of writing a 50-ish episode show. Alongside the possibility that Kikai from Zi-O was done to test the waters on AI themes with the website outright mentioning job automation as a theme I'm very curious to see how this is going to turn out. Also the mooks look like Shocker grunts that's amazing |

Really excited to watch Kamen Rider Kikai, uh I mean, Zero-One. The suits look amazing, the premise sounds interesting and the grunts looking like Shocker grunts with Foundation X technology hammers the nail through my head.
Also, it it just me, or do the fingers on the suit seem to be longer than usual? |
God damn. I love everything about this!
|
This press conference was pretty great, the suit action for 01 was really nice although I do have a slight problem with the way the silver parts look in motion it may have been because of subpar lighting. Henshin sounds for the 01 driver seem really smooth, and that TTS thing at the end was just perfect. Vulcan and Valkyrie seem really cool, and seeing the Vulcan suit in action definitely makes it a lot more appealing. Horobi and Jin seem pretty okay, a little sad that Horobi looks just like Enter thought because the suit is my favorite of what we have so far. Oh and if that was a snippit of the opening at the end then it's pretty great.
Also yay, first post. |

The "authorize" and "turns to a rider kick" parts of the Driver sounded great; too bad they then had to do the absurd singing voices in the middle. Sounds like each Progrise Key calls out the key's listed ability name. I think I might actually want to pick up one of the DX keys, although naturally, they'll make it nearly impossible to obtain without purchasing the Driver.
Henshin pose is super-elaborate, alas; I kinda wish we could go back to something a little less exaggerated. We had a streak of relatively natural poses, and then Gaim happened, and now, we can't have nice things. (I like elaborate toku poses when it's Sentai; it just bugs me in Rider.) I watched most of the conference but, y'know. I'm not actually fluent in Japanese. Sounds like the second of the two terrorist-villains is Horobi. I didn't catch the name of the other; could he be Jin? I'm really, really glad we got the extended trailer that actually gives us a good sense of the series. There's some really nice built-in tension in the premise. Presumably, AIMS takes a hard-line stance against hacked AIs. Oh, and our hero's close ally is an AI? Yeah, I can see where that's going. That it's Ex-Aid's head writer is very promising: he made the best of an uninspired theme and gave us a number of seriously memorable moments. This already sounds like a stronger theme from which to build. I'm very pleased by Kamen Rider Valkyrie's inclusion at the outset of the series. This is the most prominent a female Rider has been so far (at least on the TV show), isn't it? That sword prop is sickening in the best way. The Progrise keys are the coolest collectible widget in a long, long time. Reminds me of Lock Seeds, but look less blatantly like kids' toys. I'm actually liking the in-action suit a little less than the static images we've seen, but it'll most likely grow on me. I'm now looking forward to this show more than usual for a new Rider. This is just looking promising in a way I haven't really experienced since I started following the show. |
I'm overall pleased with what I see. But i'm not liking it 100%.
things i've noted : - I find there is a very Kabuto-ish feeling to the series. With the corporations handling henshin devices and having "swat like" forces being deployed to counter the mooks. While it's not a feeling I like a lot, the nostalgic callback is enough to make me pleased. - I'm liking the main cast. In particular Horobi and Jin. The actors really have a "vilainous aura" to me. I like Valkyrie too, even if I expected more a "yellow ranger short haired girl" kinda style instead of the "long hair pink ranger" style. Fine by me. Vulcan, you can totally tell who he is by his human appearance. Hell I've never seen a rider looking so much like his transformed form in human form xD. I was right about the 2 of them being some kind of buddy cop duo. I feel Hiden Aruto is the weakest of the main cast, but he will obviously grow on me. But only if his goofy side doesn't appear too much. Make it like the Emu stumbling from time to time and that's all. His rider appearance is kinda threatening, so don't make him a goofy character outside his costume even though he seems to be a late teenager who becomes an unexpected CEO. - There is one major thing I don't like though : the sound design. When i saw the henshin sequence by itself performed by the actor, i find it both simple and cool at the same time. But when I hear it again playing with the soundtracks in the back + the voice of Aruto, my ears don't like the blend. It was one of the force of Ex-Aid to me. The soundtracks, belt sounds, slashing sounds/hits and actor voices blended very well. I don't feel that's the case here. Overall that's still pretty solid and I can't wait for it to start. PS : It seems like we will have a topless transformation by a vilain right in Episode 1. Dan Kuroto would be proud. PPS : Lulz at the Protag being called Hiden Aruto (Hidden Heart). Calling it right away. He is that special overused trope of "He is secretely (maybe even unknown to himself) an Android that is the most close to human possible so technically he has no heart but in the end it doesn't matter who he is, he is still a human inside" EDIT : Ah ! watching the trailer again I know why I don't like the sound design. It reminds me of the W soundtracks with that brass instrument being a bit prominent, and I didn't like it too much. |

More infos on Hiden Aruto (I don't like the 1st part...)
Hiden Aruto - Kamen Rider Zero-One: In order to see his late father smile, he planned on becoming a comedian, but unfortunately lacks comedic taste. He's just scraping by as a well-known entertainer. One day he was suddenly appointed as CEO of Hiden Intelligence by his grandfather Hiden Korenosuke as written in his will after he passed away. Although he initially refused, he transforms into Zero-One after seeing a rampaging HumaGear before his eyes. Only those who have been appointed as CEO can utilize the Hiden Zero-One Driver. Then after officially assuming his position as CEO, he devotes himself to fight against the "http://ThunderclapofDestruction.net" terrorist group and the rampaging HumaGear systems. |

With Hiden Grandfather name also being a pun on "Hiden Heart" (Hidden Core). I kinda expect his dad being something like Hiden Shinzo (heart) or even better Hiden Jinzo (Articifial/Cyborg)
