I dissappear for a month, and find a new General thread in the old one's place. What a time to be alive. Glad to see everyone's still in one piece.

Hey AkibaSilver! How are you? Did you have a good holiday and new year?

I never understand why the unkown/lords from kamen rider agito always do that thing with the hands when they gonna kill someone.

It's more a prayer/ritual sort of thing. Killing humans is a Sin, but one that they must carry out to destroy the Agito -- so their doing the sign is something akin to "Forgive me for my sin, Father".

(Thanks for pointing this out! A little mad I didn't pick up on this!) |
Strange to think we live in a timeline where live action versions of Pokemon, Sonic, and Dora get good reviews.

Of course nobody got it worse than Jeep Swenson, who played Bane. Cuz that guy died the same year that movie came out. Quote:

So Japan decided to have this guy as the Japanese voice for Tom Holland's character Ian in the Pixar movie Onward.
https://i.imgur.com/6R9607l.jpg Makes sense cause he has made a name for himself as an actor post-ToQger. |

I finally saw Doctor Sleep and I really enjoy it. I like that the movie didn't try to rehash the first movie and did something original for once unlike most movie sequels (I'm looking at you Force Awakens). It's a noteworthy sequel that is done right if you ask me.

I’d like to see a Kamen Rider version of The Masked Singer just because. XD

Do they wear masks over their helmets? :p ... Or they could just; you know, not be transformed and then disguise themselves. But where's the fun in that?! |

Hey Everyone. It's been a while since I last came to the TokuNation Forum. I know Name Changes are no longer allowed, but I'm unhappy with my Old Username and I want to change it. Who do I need to contact, if I want to change my Username?

So that CG-animated Dragon Quest movie that's on Netflix... dear lord, I’ve rarely witnessed a movie that went from "Cute" to "Oh my god what have they done" so unbelievably fast. Like, I had to physically wrap my hands around my head in disbelief. I couldn’t fathom what I was seeing.
I will still put it in a spoiler-tag in case someone really wants to see this first (please don’t), but... man. So, 90% of the movie is a semi-faithful adaption of Dragon Quest V. Like, it’s okay. You get some kicks out of seeing the characters and monsters from the game, the music is great ('cause it's from the games) and they do make an effort to cram the entire game into one movie. Solid fun I’d say. But then... the ending. Holy shit. Just as our heroes fulfill the prophecy and end the threat of Grandmaster Nimzo... the entirety of the movie is revealed to be a VR simulation in which a nostalgic adult who played Dragon Quest V as a kid wants to revisit it with the newest technology. Instead of Nimzo a virus manifests, put there by some asshole hacker who just wants to ruin the experience and tell everyone playing they're "Losers". That's it. The slime monster that traveled the protagonist is revealed to be an antivirus program (I'm not making this shit up I swear) and they defeat the virus. The guy, now aware he's in a game finished it anyways because "It's real to him" and then the movie ends. What. The. Actual. Fuck. Who though this was a good idea? Why? There were more than one guy working on this, right? When did the rest decide it was okay to proceed with this instead of strapping the lunatic who came up with the idea to a chair and whip him with game controller cables until he admits his wrongdoing? I cannot believe this is real. I don’t want to. They make a Dragon Quest movie that's solid, like innocent fun, nothing award winning - and then they end it like this? Help. I’m losing it. Someone melt down a copy of Dragon Quest VIII and inject it directly into my bloodstream. Something must be done to make this right. If someone owns a time travel machine, anyone, please go back two hours in time and smash my PC before I can watch this movie. Tell them it would be for my own good for it would be the truth. And now excuse me while I finish this once innocent Sunday in terror. |
I Plan on watching the Dragon Quest animated movie soon. I'm curious to check it out.

We have Dante, Bayonetta, and Guts in the same game. Now just add Spawn, Devilman, Hellboy, and Doomslayer to make the ultimate demon slaying game. |

Speaking of how the hell am I supposed to play DQ8 when it's pricey as fuck |
I watched the final episodes of BoJack Horseman last night and I'm going to miss this show. I had a great time with this series and it's a shame to see it over. On the bright side, the show won't suffer from seasonal rot like most show do.

I have returned after a long weekend of working. It was the final weekend performances of the musical I did spot op for. I hung out with the cast a lot since it would be the last time most of us will see each other ever again. We had lots of fun eating and talking over the weekend.
On a sad note I found out on Saturday that my acting coach passed away. She's the one that gave my school the connection to the theatre that would eventually lead to my employment there and she helped me prepare for my audition (that was unfortunately unsuccessful). It was hard, and she touched the lives of so many there at the theatre. But not to end on a sad note, our last performance was yesterday night. Afterwards the producer threw us a party, and then after that some of us when out to a bar. Andrea McArdle (the original Broadway Annie) bough us all a round of drinks and she gave me a hug when I left. I also told one of the cast members that I'm non-binary and he was quite supportive and we added each other on social media. It was a wonderful time, a fun production to work on, and I'll miss this cast. |
