I believe it's less that and more like the rating of the game franchise. If the game the series is being pulled from goes above a certain rating, for the American Trailers only, they'll only name the character and not the series. Like I think for Assassins Creed it was Smash Bros x Altair in the American trailer, but everywhere else it was Assassins Creed.

Yeah, it just has to do with the M rating the original game has. They just credit the character rather than the franchise. Same thing happened with Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes and Vault Boy from Fallout.

Yeah as others have said it's mosy likely an ESRB thing. Funny thing is that the European versions just used Assassin's Creed and Fallout but now they suddenly changed it too while Japan never changed it one bit. Apparantly those rating systems changed some guidelines after Joker's addition

NRS said that they are done with MK11. It's a shame that we never got to play as Ash Williams from the Evil Dead movies. Hopefully, he will be in MK12.

Skins have stuck pretty strictly to being canon forms of the characters (we haven't for instance gotten a MMPR Blue skin of Movie Blue), so it would be pretty unlikely for him to get a skin that's anything but MMPR Black. ... MMPR Black with the Boukenger vest, maybe?

Probably the MVC2 version. With the RE remakes still being fresh on people's minds, it would be better if they stick with a classic version.

I'd be down with seeing MvC2 Jill again. Mainly because MvC3 Jill was up there alongside Spider-Man as one of the most difficult characters to play. Good lord, learning her combos would make MMO players feel the carpal tunnel :lol

I also would like to see Miles as a separate character from Peter. Since the MvC franchise doesn't really like changing characters' playstyles between games (The only instances I can remember being the aforementioned Jill and Thanos in Infinite), it means that one of my favorite characters, Spidey, has always been one of the most frustrating and counterintuitive characters to learn. So having "Classic" style Spidey for the few who know how to use him as well as Miles as a new Spider-Man with a different style would be quite nice.

Concerning your list, I actually think Capcom making the call to use Super-Skrull as opposed to the FF made sense, since he provided the entire team in one package, but it would be neat to have a Ginyu style character.

Also, I didn't notice it, but Silver Surfer actually reminded me of a movelist I made up back when MvC3 was released :lol
He was a stance switching character (Normal fighter and perpetually on board, able to free fly and still block like MODOK). It was neat.

Modok in MVC3 was a very random choice. I remember in 2010-2011, I was like 'Huh?" when he was first announced. Rocket Raccon was another character that many people were confused by at the time because people outside the comic book fandom had no idea who he was.

I loved those inclusions, though mainly for just how out of nowhere they were.

Shuma-Gorath, Spiral, Marrow? One thing I always loved was their eclectic inclusions. Even Capcom's side tends to have some head scratchers that I love. Anakaris and BB Hood over literally any other Darkstalkers characters? Roll? Jin? Effin Phoenix Wright? :lol

Of the numerous reasons to be upset with Infinite, it's milquetoast roster of bland options was one of the big reasons with me. If you're gonna take my X-Men, at least use replacement options like Warlock, Darkhawk, and Malekith to satiate my "Who the fuck are they" quota :lol
