The only reason not to watch every Black episode is if you have photosensitivity reactions to flashing lights. Even the standalone episodes of Black are great fun.

All Together! Seven Kamen Riders! is now up. This was kind of the grand finale of the original Showa era after Stronger ended. It's the last appearance of Tachibana Tobei and the final time that Toru Okazaki would appear as Amazon. It was also Hiroshi Fujioka's last appearance as Rider 1 until the 40th anniversary movie crossover with Gaim.

Tachibana appears one more time in a special that aired one week before the first episode of 1979's Kamen Rider. It's called Immortal Kamen Rider Special and from my understanding is pretty similar to this one with Tachibana regaling the stories of the Seven Legendary Riders to a bunch of kids, except it also teases the introduction of Skyrider.

And while it is Fujioka's final on screen appearance until Heisei Riders Vs. Showa Riders, he did provide his voice for Let's Go Kamen Riders.

I'm sorry to say, but I thought the show was mostly boring and a slog to go through. It was very slow paced and 80% of the show was...
-Golgom do something
-Kohtaro reacts to it
-Kohtoro helps VOTW (which is mostly kids, who have very little variation)
-Gets into fight
-Transforms and kills monster
-Kohtaro says farewell to VOTW and then rides off.
And yes, the Shadow Moon stuff is the best thing about the show, but it doesn't happen until the very end of the series.

Ended up watching Reiwa First Gen. I didn't see the other two movies but I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the sub here; aside from an obvious mistake or two (Rising Sting Scorpion.....) and a couple disagreements (Aruto's "there's only one person who can stop you" followed up by "me" instead of the more punchy "and that's me!") it was very VERY competently done, especially in how Aruto's puns were translated even if we didn't get many of those. I hope this is the kind of quality we'll see on Tokushoutsu's Zero-One subs because this was some good stuff.

I hadn't seen Reiwa The First Generation till now so I was impressed with how good it was. Felt like a nice passing the torch from Zi-O(Heisei) to Zero One(Reiwa). Looking forward to official subs in the future.

It was nice to get to legally watch the movie.

Comparing how much the bikes got used in the W movie to this one, where Aruto only uses it to drive to work, really underscores how much has changed with this franchise.

It's kind of surreal that the Zi-O trio seem so close in their normal high school lives but only use their first names (or real names) when their memories come back.

A lot of subtle and not so subtle passing of the torch with Zero-One as the new "Ichigo" of the Reiwa era, to the point where he manages to defeat the technical Ichigo of his time.

Finis felt like the last movie Time Jacker who is trying to alter time and take over the world "just because." And she's barely in the movie as is. I guess she took a page from the Shocker Manifesto and thinking Kamen Riders are a source of evil because that's what Shocker designed them to be.

I love how Ichi-Gata has Ichigo's scarf while using his super-speed. It's kind of blink and you miss it, but it's a nice touch.

I feel like Zero-One should've been the one to beat Another Zero-One. Like, he gets no scenes with Fuwa and Yua and suddenly they manage to overpower him and he just blows up like that. I mean, props to giving the second Riders a big win, and I guess it's humanity overcoming the evil Humagear, but thematically it just didn't feel right with Aruto trying to repudiate Will.

I think Tetsu Inada should've voiced Another Ichigo considering he was Ichigo's VA whenever Fujioka wasn't, although Koji Ishii did a decent job of sound like an evil Ichigo.

Is Tsukuyomi the first female Rider to have a Rider Kick?

How the fudge did Jin and Horobi tank a triple Rider Kick from Geiz, Woz, and Tsukuyomi? Like, not blowing up is one thing, but they should've at least de-transformed.

I guess timeline-wise they couldn't slot in Shining Hopper or Shining Assault Hopper so Zero-One will have to settle for just going through multiple form changes while Zi-O gets to use his Final Form. Not a bad take on the classic finishing Double Rider Kick though.

Jeez Sogo, you guys just bonded and now you want them to forget this crossover even happened? I guess we're getting Heisei vs Reiwa out of the way from the get-go.

Jin and Horobi talking about how their going to wipe out humanity is kind of funny when the whole plot of the movie basically proves how thoroughly they're going to fail (and already did fail).

Fuwa and Yua have...very awkward co-worker talk.

Shippers gonna ship, but I got strong falling in love vibes from Is staring at Aruto at the end there.

Well, I was surprised to see the Reiwa movie on the official Toei channel.
Watched it, and liked it.

It's my first "new" Kamen Rider media I'm watching since Episode 3 of Kamen Rider Saber ( I dropped that one, I don't like how it heavily used 3D environnements and effects straight from Unreal Engine...I didn't like that at all, and I couldn't connect with the characters)

So...yeah...this movie made Zi-O a little less hard to swallow because there were things in this series that went terribly wrong x) (and I like Zi-O, that's the thing...)

I have nothing constructive to say other that I liked it and that I will import the Zero Blu Ray once it's available...well, anywhere in English.

Now, i'll just have to watch the other Zero One movie then wait until the end of Saber to probably restart watching some Kamen Rider.

Toei uploaded an abridged version of the April 3rd 50th Anniversary Commemoration Press Conference complete with English subs, which is really cool and I think is further proof they're finally getting serious about bringing Kamen Rider worldwide. Picked up on some cool tidbits that I didn't see much discussion about here:

- Toei wants to simulcast Kamen Rider Black Sun worldwide
- They also want a day and date global release for Shin Kamen Rider (!!)
- The three specific projects were chosen to commemorate Ishinomori's manga (the original manga, the Black manga, and Fuuto P.I. was a manga as tribute to Ishinomori)
- 2021-2023 are considered the 50th Anniversary, commemorating the original series' run from 1971-1973
- Anno had been developing Shin Kamen Rider while he was working on Evangelion 3.0 after becoming friends with one of Toei's producers

Great to see X get uploaded, and full of nostalgia for Decade since he was my first completed Rider series, movies included. Just remembering how new and different it felt watching it, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I'll get around to watching these when I have free time.
