- - Kamen Rider Die found some old toku magazines from 2004

The Thunderbirds merch may be there due to a) it’s considered a Tokusatsu in Jajapn (where the definition is ‘ a live action project that heavily uses special effects”) and b) because there was the movie coming out at the same time this magazine was published.

Judging by his dyed hair this must be around the time Matsuda was filming that Vampire Host drama thing. He went from Kamen Rider Batman to Crab Orphenoch and back to a bat-themed monster. :lolol
And if y'all see the page that says MAIL, that is Shinji/Ryuki and Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill. I guess they filmed some drama together. |

It's been a blast seeing this stuff through your eyes. I'd said I was eventually going to scan these magazines, to make it easier for people to read through them, but, uh... anyone feel like giving me a hand -slash- doing that for me? Left to me, it's going to be a long while to get all these magazines scanned and posted. I'm happy to send them to another fan who's willing to do all that, though. If you live in the United States, I'm happy to pay to ship these four magazines out to any fan who's willing to scan and post these magazines in full (preferably as a PDF). Just PM me if you feel like you're the person for the job, and we'll make this happen. Otherwise... I guess I'll be back in this thread with the first PDF a long time from now? Gosh, these magazines really are testament to how big Casshern's marketing budget was. That Cutie Honey booklet also really highlights how beautiful and crazy Nagai's designs are, and the sheer dedication of the wardrobe department—I love it. Thank you for allowing us to bask in the warm glow of nostalgia with this thread. It was great seeing all these old friends again. :p |
