And cars only excite them because they are forced upon them. I mean, I grew up in a village and until I went to school, I had never seen a single car and certainly didn't want one. So again, it's a cultural thing.
Plus, there are also franchise specifics. Kamen Rider is basically about bikes and so a car doesn't really fit as a main theme. Even riders that transform into a bike are not very popular, because two toys (rider and motorcycle) will bring more profit than one transforming.

At the very least if the bike can transform, Autovajin style, we might actually see it more since it'll be useful to have in fights.

I think there is potential in the option with the bike as a form/part of the form, like Geats and Gotchard.

So a huge dump of news from Colour:

Zetz has very few forms (only one listed for September)

Base form is an Ichigo homage as previously mentioned

Scarf can turn into a sword? The following forms mention weapons but it sounds like they are integrated with the forms than outright DX Weapons used for toys.

October - "Technolom Stream" a water/wind form that is dark blue/blue in color with a hook/gun weapon for long range combat

- "Esprim Recovery" A dark green healing form with a shield/axe

November - "Paradigm Wonder" a gravity control form with dark purple coloring and a hook/sword

Upgrade form may be yellow/silver

There is quite a bit of "Support Gear." Not sure if this is in reference to roleplay toys or props in the show. Some are cameras and a phone with a recorder.

Most interesting is a spider device that requires the gimmick item to be placed in it (like Double's or Fourze's support robots)

Zeztz also may have form that uses his motorcycle as armor, but i am not sure if said form is any of the above forms, or just a "mode"

Also on forms, Colour mentioned that forms are minimalistic in the vein of Kuuga or Zero-One.

Transformation sounds includes a "Wake Up!" standby with the actual henshin sound being "Good Morning Rider! Zeztz Impact!"

Gimmick is looking to be Gashapon capsules in some form.

There may also be an early secondary Rider like Valen, more info on that potentially coming tomorrow.

I have got to say, most of this sounds pretty dull IMO.

I usually get absolutely psyched when hearing new rider info, but nothing here sounds too cool.

I even came up with my own dream rider years ago on whim that had more interesting elements than Zeztz, but I really hope that I am proven wrong.

Hopefully we will get to see Takahashi have more interesting story ideas, like how we are bad people for not wanting to buy NFT's, or how dreams are really just sponsored by future AI programs to inform people to use magical AI artists.

More Zeztz stuff! This sounds a bit more interesting:

Secondary Rider is trapped in a lucid dream/dream world.

Secondary Rider name is Kamen Rider Yezz.

Will start off as a semi-villainous Pseudo-Rider with a silver color scheme with orange and black secondary colors.

Will become a Rider (sooner that Valvarad) and will gain a form that resembles Eternal Xtreme with a solid black middle, with a dark blue with orange highlights color scheme on the right, and Silver with black highlights on the left.

Head design is said to be similar to Ryuki, with a weapon resembling the Full-Bottle Buster from Build with a similar Sword/Gun mode.

Not sure if the Pseudo-Rider form has a different transformation device from the main rider form, but the belt is stated to resemble Zeztz' Driver with an attachment like a Beyblade Holder. Capsules are stated to spin in the driver and project an image "like a Wonder-Ride book" (not sure why this was stated as Wonder-Rider books didn't project, but I guess we will have to see).

It also seems like the Secondary Rider Driver is worn in the same way Zeztz' Driver is worn. No mention of any Rider homage with the secondary rider.


EDIT: Not sure if I am understanding this correctly, but it sounds like Yezz Pseudo-Rider form uses Zeztz' Driver with an attachment, but gains a new driver upon gaining a Rider Form. Not sure if that is exactly the case though.

Personal Opinion: Sounds pretty cool all around. Really odd though with both a pseudo-rider form and a rider form. No mention of form-changes yet.

Speaking of, something quite interesting is zero news of any motifs for rider forms. Elements are incorporated for Zeztz' forms but considering his Primary Form resembles the Grasshopper elements from Ichigo, I would imagine his additional forms would incorporate some motifs as well, but zero news has been provided on that front. No news on the capsules themselves either.

Lower number of forms and Riders? I'm starting to doubt Takahashi is behind this season then.

Anyway, since it's been a while, I thought I'd weigh in on the "Ichigo Homage" rumor with a theory.

What if this is some sort of way Toei wants to "redefine" Kamen Rider? Or if this is some sort of answer to Ultraman's New Generation?

At first, I thought "isn't this Zero-One's fifth Anniversary?" until I remembered it aired back in 2019. Revice was the 50th Anniversary Series (prior to that was Super Hero Senki), and Toei extended the celebration to 2023 because of Shin Kamen Rider, so Gotchard might have had that bleed in, and Legend was Decade's 15th Anniversary, so that's how he fits into the Anniversary Category. So, there should be no important dates to justify a Tribute to the Original.

Which leads me to wonder if Toei's trying to distinguish Kamen Rider in a way similar to Ultraman, hence the Grasshopper Theme recurring, since the Motorcycles have been harder to implement due to Traffic Laws (or so I hear), and with numerous Local and Indie Heroes who could "technically" be mistaken for Kamen Riders, that might be where this is going.

While I personally have no issues with Ichigo Tributes (as I've loved them), I definitely enjoy the more "out-there" Riders (Gavv has been a fantastic series). Same can be said for Takahasi as the Main Writer, I enjoy his shows, but I do feel he tends to rehash ideas, but mainly, given how different writers gave us shows like Fourze, Gaim, Build, and recently Gavv, I would like to see someone else work on Rider.

Of course, we'll see when we get the big reveal, but that's just my two cents on everything we have so far.

Speaking of motorcycles, I do think maybe Toei should consider more options like Den-O or Drive, meaning non-motorcycle riders. It could be a BMX, a skateboard, a flying carpet, a cgi horse, those coin-op things in malls, I don't care, but I think the "rider" in Kamen Rider feels like deadweight with vehicular scenes seeming more and more rare these days.

I considered 55th Anniversary, but I don't think I've seen anyone make a big deal out of 55 years of anything, so I disregarded it. But the Movies of The First and Ichigo 2016 (a movie I'm rather fond of), is interesting. I don't know if Toei cares about The First that much and the Ichigo 2016 Movie was for the 45th Anniversary. Whether these could mean anything is up in the air.

I have a sinking feeling this won't be a great show, mostly because of my experience of the show so far is that if the premise sounds like crap, it'll be phenomenal, and if it sounds promising, it will disappoint SO hard. Fruit, video games, and snacks did not sound great. The notion of shows about ghosts, wizards, time travel, and one's-dark-side immediately had me excited. To me, "dreams" sounds l promising, so by now, I just expect Toei to fumble the writing or execution.

I *love* being proved wrong. "Kamen Rider does Squid Game" on paper made me kinda cringe. Fingers crossed this year will be a pleasant surprise.

A-HA! This year's collectible widget sneaking into the promo image. Sort of resembles gashapon capsules, but with something like a hinged door rather than splitting apart. Seems not unlikely that they - or at least some part of them - can be slotted into the chest-driver. I'll give the design this: its sleekness even outdoes W Cyclone/Joker. The neck piece faintly suggesting a scarf is classic post-Showa Rider design: make a clear visual nod at the thing without necessarily doing the thing. I was expecting a number of clear Zs worked into the design, but it's practically restrained.

Update: Oh, I think I see. It looks semi-spherical, but it looks like it maybe has a flat side. If so, that's what'd connect to the Driver.

It's cool that they are going to do simulcasts in a lot of countries, might watch it for that reason alone.

The teaser seems really edgy though, and in a way that seems unlike a tokusatsu. Makes me feel apprehensive about the direction they are taking this.
