After moving my laptop back upstairs in to my room I found out my VGA cable was long anuff to connect my tv and laptop so I been watching zyuranger on my tv

So, while Abaranger is treated as a 4 man team with an additional/"6th" ranger, is that the first primarily 4 person team, or is JAKQ considered a 4 man team?
I ask because Big One is often treated as the 5th member, not just additional/"6th" ranger...

If we're going by Gokaiger's classifications, Abaranger is a 4 man team with a "6th Ranger" while JAKQ is a 5 man team.

Funny, you'd think Gekichopper would be a 6th Ranger.

And Gekiranger is a 5 man team, Violet and Chopper are normal members. It's very similar to Go-Onger.

So anybody want to explain why there is a drinking contest in a kid's show (I'm talking about Dairanger episode 12)?

Probably due to less restrictions depicting drinking in Japanese kids' TV.

Ah. Still a bit weird to see it though. Hell, my girlfriend saw it and thinks Sentai is even weirder now :lol

Sentai can be really, really weird. On quick reflection, the weirdest moment for me in Sentai so far was the G3 Princess group in Go-onger.

I think it's the drinking contest for me....for now.

There are plenty of drinking episodes in Sentai. Drinking in kids shows aren't considered as bad of thing in Japan, just like showing blood or cursing.

A few examples of drinking episodes: Fiveman (4), Dairanger (12), Dekaranger (17), Gekiranger (30).

If you only watch one more episode of Sentai in your life, make it Fiveman episode 4. It's insanity is amazing.

Right just finished watching Zyuranger due to i going through all saban first 7 season in sentai format and my godd was the last 4 episodes dark and i mean Dark. ok

so there are theses Dino Eggs in the episode where the rad bug first showed in MMPR. well these Eggs started to show up again i soon took them as filler until episode 47. before hand the reappeared and well then stayed in king bracion for 30 days. it then up it comes about in episode 47 that if king bracion dies the gardian beast die as well due to the fact if the dino eggs die so do the beast Die as well so then if you remeber few scenes of doomsday part 1 and 2 then you might know the rest i tried be a spoiler free as possible i just cant remeber how to block spoiler parts out. but here some thing confusing is the fact is how zyuranger ended and when goushi comes in in the zyuranger tribute is confusing and unexplained unlike the jetman one so yea i say watch it its good emotional and dark at times but good. i am now moving on to DaiRanger season 2 of MMPR so i hope i enjoy this as much as zyuranger.

Got a chance to watch some Gokaiger in Korean.

fun factor: the guy who voiced Zoro in the Korean dub of One Piece voices Marvelous. He has also voiced Tendo Souji/Kabuto in the past.
cool factor: most of the Korean voice actors who dubbed sentai shows for a Korean audience in the past reprise their roles (they went all out with this that they even managed to get the guy who voiced Joe/Yellow Lion from Liveman. BTW, the same guy also voiced Redflash, Redmask, Changegryphon in the past.)

Kakuranger 15 and 16.
Holy hell, episode 15 was awesome. Tense, suspenseful, and a rather melancholic ending. It was seriously awesome.
16 was just as cool, watching Sasuke employ actual stealth techniques. It was awesome.

Kakuranger also features both one of the best and one of the worst mech battles I've seen. It's great because, thanks to the Juusho fighters, calling the mecha isn't going to be just combine -> Token attack -> Finisher like most other series, so it's great to watch. However, the moment Muteki Shogun shows up, it's literally just performs the finisher and the fight's over.

Muteki Shogun is such a terrible waste of an awesome design. :(

watched 12 episoded of dairanger enjoying it so fare but i did feel there was a star wars vibe of ryuu ranger dad appearing episode.

Just watched episodes 1 and 2 of Jetman. Why have I not watched this before? It's freaking awesome. The foot soldiers are cool looking, the Jetman are nice (especially Blue Swallow to me). It's just, great!

Oh, did you get to see both Father Magnet and the drunken tofu episodes?

Yea I'm on the episode where won tiger appears proper and I like kiba ranger it explains a lot of the footage used in season 2 made tommy out of character but liking it the be watching season 3 after dairanger what is kakuranger but that's another 28 episodes till that happens. But really liking dai

Just watched episode 1 of Goseiger. Nothing too bad or good either way, but I'm just watching to see if GoseiKnight is as badass as everyone says.
Also, Alata doesn't bug me that much, even though other things I've read suggest some people think otherwise

Currently watching the 10th episode of Megaranger and I'm actually enjoying the series so far. I think Chisato/MegaYellow might be my favorite out of this series' team of rangers though it might change once I see more episodes.

Just watching some more Jetman. And by God is Gai a bad ass. He's probably my favorite character next to Ako.

He pops around 16 or 17 if I remember correctly. And trust us, he's a bad ass.

Don't worry man, it gets better. Chisato is my favorite character as well. No to mention tied for my favorite Sentai heroine.

Just make sure you're head is well supported. He shows up with such little regard to story that you might just get whiplash.

Just watched more dairanger how many filler eps are ther cause kajaku seems like filler now and those 3 idiot monsters do as well also is that guy with pet turtles the guy that turns in to tor the shuttle zord. By watching episode 26 and is good so fare kiba ranger still my fave wish kou told them he was kiba ranger though

I'm hesitant to call Kujaku and San-Baka "filler", since they appear reasonably often and all the way to the last few episodes. And I think Kou reveals himself as Kibaranger soon.

Yea I know but I was think the dino eggs where filler until the last 4 episodes where they become a major plot device. That's why I said they feel filler and know there going to be more but those 3 idiot gouma are filler there no way they ain't

But I will nevertheless enjoy the episodes that we do get that are subbed from start to finish. Just for the sake of curiousity, who is your favorite Sentai heroine?

They aren't really filler, so much as part of the individual characters' story arcs. Each of the characters has a side character whose story mostly involves them more than the full team: Ryo has Jin, Daigo has Kujaku, Souji has the Idiots, and Kazu has Kameo (at first, he kind of gets forced out of it as that plot goes on). Rin is a little different in that she gets Kou, who in turn has his own story arc and supporting cast, which kind of sidelines her a lot.

Yeah, it does suck that it's not entirely subbed. Whenever the site TokusatsuDVD opens up again, I'm buying all of Megaranger right off the back to finish it up. I'm really interested in how they did the whole Psycho Rangers saga and how different it is from ours.

Currently marathoning my way through Akibaranger Season 1 in preparation for the awesomeness of Season 2 this weekend :D

Been watching some more Akibaranger since my DVD came. And I can easily say that's it's a contender for my favorite series.

I've been watching Go-onger the last couple of days. Finished episode 4 last night. I'm liking it so far. The only thing that I don't like is Souske's voice. It can be a little grating at times. I like the character just fine it's just the voice I don't care for. I know I know...superficial.

Seems like how I felt with Jan's voice when I started with Gekiranger. :lol Sosuke did grow on me a lot though, to the point that I can confidently say he's my favorite Go-onger.

I really enjoyed Jan's voice and energy, even from the start.
Yeah, he was an obvious copy of Ban, personality wise, but Jan just did it better, IMO :p

I still think Ban was way more likable and fun. Jan jsut had too many characters quirks and his made up language could grate on me. Sousuke really does have an odd voice.

By the way I'm up to episode 12 of Akibaranger again. It's been too long since I'd watched Season 1 and I'm happy to report it's just as glorious the second time through as the first. Can't wait for Season 2 raws to start popping up! :D

Eh. I think my issue with Ban was position. Ban was a high ranked police officer. He really shouldn't have been acting like that, or at the very least, not be getting away with it all the time. He commanded respect with his team despite not deserving it, it felt like they followed his lead because he was the loudest (Hoji would've made a better leader. Not as fun, most certainly not, but in universe it would've made more sense).
Jan is acknowledged as a beginner and treated as such. He's not the leader of the team, and it's just easier to see him acting like he does and why everyone puts up with it (And he does mature, which Ban doesn't).

Though, his made up words can get grating, I'll give you that.

Zowazowa was the one that made sense because it signaled an enemies appearance. The others felt unnecessarily confusing.

Ban on the other hand led the team not by choice, but because they had no Red, seeing as the previous one had been injured and started Fire Squad secretly. Ban was chosen and given that role by Doggie because of the potential seen in him. His attitude and personality had nothing to do with the decision but his skills and talents had everything to do with it. He may have been inexperienced in police work overall, but his skills were unquestionable.
