I felt like the Queen was from the Orb Origin Saga, but don't quote me on that! I feel like Shisa might be from the Geed movie, but again, don't quote me on that! In the final analysis, it doesn't detract from them and I am left with only one genuine thought: Ultimate Force Zero and Galaxy Rescue Force Team-Up!!!!!!! |
The Queen is actually the previous queen before the one from Orb Origin but otherwise your correct on everything else. And while were on the subject of surprise cameos how about the original versions of Ultimate Force Zero appearing!

The Gukuru Shisa is from the Geed movie, but we don't know if it's the same one that was in the Geed movie, or just another member of the species. |

Also I genuinely like how in the latest Absolute Conspiracy, Tartarus shows up in front of the heroes to show off how big and bad he is... only to be immediately scarred of by Legend!
And with this, I have a second thing where I can point to say "I sure like Xenon in that!". |
Holy crap, they actually dug the Ultraman Xenon suit out of the dank and forgotten corner of the basement it's been stuffed into for the last 15 years. Between that and the Max theme song being brought back, this one was a huge treat for me.
|
So, is Absolute Conspiracy a prequel? IIRC Ribut is already part of the Galaxy Rescue Force in the first Ultra Galaxy Fight.

But if this does take place before the other series then it makes sense. I really like them showing the Galaxy Rescue Force by the way, and I like that it is composed of multiple alien heroes from around the multiverse, I assumed it was an Ultra-only operation. |
At the beginning of the first part, Zero did describe this as being the incident where Ribut joined the Galaxy Rescue Force!

The next chapter will be two points in history; the first will be way back in time when Father and Mother were respectively still called Ken and Marie and Belial was still around, the second will be when Taro was still young and Tregear was a mild-mannered scientist. Regarding Tregear's story I assume based on the synopsis on the official site that maybe it could be around the time Hikari was at Arb or maybe during Ultraman Mebius since they mention him one day vanishing. The final chapter from the look of it seems to be post-Ultraman Z. At the least definitely post-New Generation Climax. |
Yeah, like... the very first scene just looked straight into the camera and said "this is Ribut's backstory".
|
I wasn't aware the story of Absolute Conspiracy was going to be split up into hard chapters this way, but I kind of dig it? Seems like a natural way to shift the focus to different groups of characters without the story feeling bloated, which is probably an important consideration to make when this thing has ALL the characters.
Also, even not having properly seen Max, I realized what they were doing when the Max Galaxy showed up and got real excited. I guess any time a theme song plays, that scene is just guaranteed to be awesome. |
Thanks guys. I had forgotten that they said it was Ribut's backstory. :lol A collection of stories throughout time is an interesting path to take.
|
What I really like about this web series is that they are filling in the canonical gaps within the lore while adding new things. Considering how the previous Ultra Galaxy fight was pretty much the introduction to Tregear perhaps this can be considered an intro to Absolute Tartarus prior to the 55th anniversary show.

Apparently, Image/Skybound want to do their take on Kaiju Battles with...UltraMega!? It's NOT Ultraman... technically, but...

Woo boy. Looks pretty edgy, all interest just completely sapped from those preview pages and description. Pass.
|
The designs feel like major Ultra ripoffs. I get that that's the point, but it feels a little too blatant IMO. Look at Radiant Black, which is homaging toku without being a carbon copy of Kamen Rider.

Now watching Ultra Q.

EDIT: Hold on, let me correct myself: The first 4 episodes were great, and then it went on drugs mode. |
I think I’ll share this since no one else has. The Ultra Heroes expo 2018
https://youtube.com/watch?v=RLv2c9kWOlg My verdict: it’s even weirder than Rider and Sentai Final Stage shows. |
So what exactly happened at the end of "The Underground Super-Express Goes West"? Did all the passengers die? And what's with M1 suddenly saying "I am seagull"? This episode was going fine until this ending!

~ Ultraman Belial |
Ep. 4 of The Absolute Conspiracy is up!
Experiences of Early Belial and Father of Ultra (referred to as "Ken") are highlighted. Absolute Tartarus decides to play around with the past. Numerous villains are congregating! The Land of Light has a legitimate Congress! Zero narrates and Geed is name-dropped. What is it all building-up to? P.S.: No Max or Ribut here! |
Belial got cucked by Ken and that is how he became evil. And he was already a douche from the beginning? Wait, if I recall something that I read in the wiki, didn't Mebius say Belial was cool dude back then?
|
You know, seeing Father of Ultra just completely ignore the significance of Belial's outbursts for who knows how many years really adds fuel to my secret fan theory that the Land of Light is a society so utopian they're all utterly lost when it comes to dealing with anyone who deviates from their perfect system. I think the biggest lesson anyone learned here was Ultra Seven refusing to associate with his own son until he stopped being so edgy. I'm just saying, it isn't always hard to see why Tregear got so fed up with these people insisting on their own righteousness. :lol
(And yes, I'm aware I'll probably have to either retract that last statement or double down on it depending on how the next couple episodes play out.) |

I'm gonna pull a Star Trek here and say that the Land of Light may need they're own Section 31 or "In The Pale Moonlight" moment! :lol |
I haven't seen much Ultra, but the lore and history in this episode was still really fun to see. Someone in the YouTube comments mentioned the possibility of this Belial not becoming the Belial we know, and that possibility for multiple timelines really intrigues me.
I'm also really keen to know what's up with Absolute Tartarus. Could he be the next big villain like Belial and Tregear? |
I have to say, as nice as this was - I wish they gave Belial at least some redeeming qualities. The dude is a complete arse, so it's kind of baffling how he was allowed to continue like this without someone intervening to set him straight.
Personally, I would’ve portrayed Belial way more friendly and heroic, with insecurity being his main drive towards ruin instead of simple lust for power. Like, instead of him executing these aliens during the war like a madman, I would’ve made it so that Ken and Belial are ambushed, Ken gets hurt and Belial mercilessly slaughters them out of rage. Because he loves his best friend dearly and seeing him hurt shows a darker side of him. He snaps back after, they don’t speak about it, Belial gets closer with Marie, Ken is appointed Commander, all are happy, but Belial feels like he can’t keep up with his friends. His dark thoughts are nurtured because he feels the third wheel constantly and eventually just seeing Marie casually chatting with Ken drives him over the edge. The training match happens as is, and after he is beaten by Ken the love for his friend turns completely upside down. He feels used and lied to by everyone and urges for raw power to set things straight. It wasn't bad though all things considered, for as much as I would’ve changed it, it was a great back story for such an important character to modern Ultraman. And the end is especially interesting because now we have Early Style Belial in the present and a timeline where he never became evil and went missing instead. Although I feel like that either Belial will be returned to his timeline and become evil regardless, or that the Belial in the present becomes evil and that's their way of resurrecting him for future shows. |
Have to agree about not being tooooo fond of Early Belial's characterisation. As funny as it is, how incompetently unobservant everyone else in the Land of Light is, it's not as compelling this way. I think they honestly should have gone all the way in aping Anakin from II and III :P Maybe they're saving the 'oh look at how good he used to be!' solely for Tregear, but still!
|
I think they should have still had Belial be as power-hungry and murder-happy as he was; but leaning more towards a practical justification -- he feels it's the most efficient thing to do to win, he thinks Babarue and Nackle would have reported back to Empara, he shows no mercy towards those who'd hurt the Land of Light, etc. It's a classic one and one I think would work out; I don't think portraying Belial as having the same heroic ideals as other Ultras would really jive with his characterisation.
|
I feel like one scene change that would have helped was Babarue and Nackle going to attack Ken when his back was turned only for Belial to come in and save him, calling Ken naive.
That being said I kinda like that Belial was sort of an arse mostly and that Ken was really just looking at their relationship through rose-tinted glasses. Mostly because this basically means that yes, that one little stage showing of Belial beating Ken with a steel chair while training, is totally in character. |

Question about the Land of Light people...
Say you wanted to be a legendary hero like your idols (Seven, OG Ultra, Ken, Zero, etc.), would your dreams be completely screwed if you were born looking like this? Or is there some process that makes you look closer to a standard Ultraman? I can imagine there being a class full of these guys and any of the new gen ultramen just shows up, showing off their unique genes that makes them look more heroic. |
You look at Taro and 80 and try to tell me looks have anything to do with being a hero. :p
|
I mean there Sora who know working for Galaxy Rescue Force alongside Ribut. And she was originally a Stage Show exclusive Ultra! So long as you put into effort anybody can join the Ultra Brothers or any of the other factions.
|
There's at least three anime Ultras who look exactly like that
|
I mean, an Ultra's face can change slightly when they obtain a new form. So if an Ultra really was bothered by how they look, they could probably just go off and train for a bit. :lol
