So, okay, dumb question because it's 345 in the morning:
Is there any actual functional distinction between a male using the Princess Shinken Red key and a female using the regular Shinken Red key? Because it's the exact same power set and the costumes format based on the user's gender. |

But it does come in handy that it allows 2 people to functionally use the same power at once. |
What is the most bloodiest Super Sentai Show?
Kamen Rider Amazon is the most bloodiest Kamen Rider Show but does Super Sentai have their own bloodiest show? It's like a bloodbath! Lot and lot of blood! |

Otherwise same junk different strokes. |
Which Sentai Show you liked but Everyone else HATED the show?
For me, I would say ToQger I think Emperor was unique than other Shadow Line Crew I thought Akira was cool as a Sixth Ranger Most of ToQger got their spotlight beside Red Ranger Remember pick the Sentai show that wasn't beloved by everyone but you liked it! |
A Sentai that I liked that everyone else hated?
Hmm...I can think about a lot of inverted situations, but otherwise, none are coming to mind. I think it's because I have good taste. |
Zyuranger. Not that everybody hates it, but I feel like it's better than most people give it for. The overarching plot isn't the greatest, but the combat, the characters, the music, and the suits are all fantastic. I also don't mind the kid of the week aspect.

There wasn't any noticeable handoff, but there obviously wouldn't have to be as long as they can both access the ShinkenRed powers at separate times. |
Ohranger, what happen to this sentai whose unfair.
|
Idk if this is still popular like it once was in 2011 or so, but judging by what I've seen that people don't really like it now, but Boukenger is one of my favorite Sentai seasons, it's not perfect and has its issues but what series doesn't?
An excellent cast who grows together as the series goes on, one of the best Reds, Pinks and Sixths ever and a great Blue and Yellow, deep themes with indirect references to earlier Sentai, an interesting villain dynamic and the treasure hunting theme was awesome. |

Then again, I was bored out of my mind with Shinkenger and I remember barely any of it, so I could be very wrong. |
Ninnin vs ToQ Raw: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/kfAZFfcxv7d9YNgltK8
I like this movie, it's balanced between ToQ and Ninnin portion. The Furries got a nice cameo there. The way they handled ToQger as a return team is sooo nice, I like it. P/S: Tokatti and Mio got actual relationship, best movie ever :D |

I've got a thought question about Jyuohger, now I know it's still early and we're only like 6 episodes in, but does anyone else feel a disconnect between the DeathGaliens' motives and the Jyuohgers' goals?
Meaning, there doesn't seem to be any resistance whatsoever coming from the DeathGaliens from keeping the Jyuohgers' to accomplish their goals, they aren't trying to keep the Jyumans from returning to Jyuland or anything, not that they have any knowledge on that yet but there should've been just a hint of them investigating what is ailing/bothering the Jyuohgers and the exploitation of that ordeal should have begun IMO. The villains are in NEED of some work. I think that's where Ninninger did a good job with the villains with establishing a strong premise of a rationale to keep the heroes from achieving a higher power so that they can obtain it to build a world dominion. Nothing the DeathGaliens have done so far even remotely has the same amount of firepower the Kibaoni clan has done. There's very little explanation as to what the "Blood Game" actually entails, as we've only had one little thing about it and it's to amuse Genis, but nothing more than that. What is their endgame with the "Blood Game?" What else are they trying to accomplish with that? I feel the main focus right now is that the Jyuohgers are only trying to go back to Jyuland; which it SHOULD be the obvious endgame/plot, however nothing more is happening and fighting against the DeathGaliens are just a side gig that just needs to be done. There's no REAL struggle happening, just battles that have no war behind it. The Jyuohgers aren't even trying to investigate what the "Blood Game" actually is, and how they can exploit their weakness to prevent any more destruction from happening. The hero/villain dichotomy just isn't mixing well and I fear it could very well be a detriment for future arcs in the series. But other than that, I love the characters of our heroes thus far, love the development of what they are like and what each of them individually want to accomplish. Now, I might just be overreacting here but given that we're 6 episodes in (too early I know, but still, lol), just seems like the formula has been established and there's no more potential growth of meaningful conflict between the heroes and villains. |
I think, what happen to Ohranger was unfair.
|
What are you talking about?

Also, being an anniversary show they probably were under a lot of pressure and having to change the direction of the show most likely did not help this. |
I think they're referring to the writing changes Ohranger had to undergo after the Sarin gas attacks in Japan?
|

Yeah, 1995 was not a great year for Super Sentai. I still love Ohranger but it was unfortunate what the show had to go through. |
Quote:
Not a great year for Sentai? It wasn't a good year for Japan in general... |
It wasn't just due to the Sarin gas attacks. There was a pretty bad earthquake around the time as well. Considering those behind Sarin were a cult and can be viewer as terrorists, a Sentai show going back to the more war like routes and featured an invading terror armor that destroyed the city probably wasn't the greatest timing. So they did what they felt they had to do, except so much was already written that the show jumps back and form from old school dark and war Sentai to Zyuranger like, so that plus the events created for not a lot of good public image.
Still sold toys like hotcakes though. I wonder how well it would have done though if they kept with the original tone. I remember reading an old article that talked about how Sentai nearly "died" due to Ohranger (if anything nearly killed it it was Fiveman apparently). It ended up talking about how while children adored Zyuranger the adult fans didn't take well to it because they wanted more serious stuff that was akin to the 80s or Jetman. Dairanger ended up being the opposite; adults loved it and kids didn't like it as much. |

What happened with Fiveman that the series nearly killed the franchise overall? |

I wonder if any of the twenty-first century installments have nearly ended the franchise. I know Gekiranger and Go-Busters didn’t do so well in Japan, but were their failures enough to make the production team consider cancelling Sentai?
What would you consider to be the best/ your favourite of the anniversary series so far? |
Quote:
Zyuohger is good so far as well |
I don't think ratings really matter in comparison to toy sales (Which is how Go-Busters stayed afloat. Didn't Go-Buster Ace sell like hotcakes?)
How did Fiveman do poorly enough to almost bring the franchise down? And favorite anniversary? I dunno. Like, only Gokaiger milked the anniversary aspect. Beyond that, Gaoranger had Vs. Super Sentai and Boukenger featured AkaRed and his merry band of past Sentai heroes, but both of those were specials with little bearing... So I guess Gokaiger by default... |

The gender-specific henshin roleplay toys did not do well and the Magma Base, which was a fresh concept when Turboranger did it with the Turbo Builder, hardly sold(also Turbo Builder was 12800 Yen while Magma base was 16800 Yen) thus resulting in one of the worst toy sales for Bandai(while on the same year Winspector was printing money for Bandai). And while the show was not that bad, the merch had bits and pieces of mannerism seeping out. Five Robo is a generic mid 80s sentai robot, Star Carry/Star Five is pretty much a design recycle of the Tank Command from Flashman. Super Five Robo and Magma Base are just recycled versions of the Super Turbo Robo and Turbo Builder from Turboranger. |
Ah, I see, then.
Strange, but I guess it makes sense. I can also totally see Magma Base not selling. It does make me wonder if carriers ever sell well, though... |

If it looks cool and plays well as a toy probably. And reasonably priced. :) |
What's kind of sentai Theme we can expect in 2017 ?
|
Well, considering how there's no rhyme or reason to them, who knows.
|
Gashapon machines and capsule toys.
Each capsule toys will contain some kind of monster, and each ranger will have a "Main" capsule monster that they, perhaps, keep in their pocket, to morph with. |

Yes, I do.
I'm just really used to everyone pointing to a KR series going "They did it, so Sentai can't" when people think up ideas for Sentai :lol |
