Tategami, Durandal and Solomon definitely feel locked in for Wave 9, and I imagine Saber Ghost as well. It miiight be too early for Cross Saber but I could see it going either way. That would leave one spot left for... the Gatriker? Dezast? Accessory packs? Pretty Den-O??? We'll see; Wave 9 reveals do begin next week!

Along with the new pics, here's two more added to the list. I thought Cross Saber alone would be a real pain in the butt to sticker, now multiply that by three.

Anyone else find the candy included with SO-DO, YU-DO etc to actually be alright? I've long since heard the term "horrible included candy" or w/e used to describe what you get with candy toys, but I dunno; far from my favourite but it tastes decent to me. Especially nice to have after building something

The sugar tablets from back in Ex-Aid and Build were great, but the gum you get now I'm not a big fan of

YU-DO Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger is just as awesome as the show!

Even having just had a couple YU-DO before, I'm seriously impressed with how damn good these are and how much budget clearly went into each one -- their colours are just popping and bursting as much as a Sentai should and beyond; the range of articulation is still fantastic for 450 Yen candy toys; the larger robos are so much fun to put together; the accessory pack's extra weapons and hands gives the group so much personality... I'm so, so happy to have dropped the money on this lot. If there's any downsides, I'd probably just say that Zenkaiser and Magine's stickers take a while and can be painful at points; but that was probably obvious already? And it's well worth it for them to look as good as they do. Perfect wave!!

The gum is fine, nothing special. Gives you something to do while you're attempting frustrating stickers.

Those YU-DO look so good. They really capture the chunky suit designs. It actually makes me think the actual suit actors make them looking like moving toys in a very charming way.

Kind of like the robot fights but lasting more than 2 attacks and a finisher!

The chunkier ones are my favourite of the bunch! In terms of the build they didn't require as many stickers and were just fun to piece together, and something about them just feels so solid! I will say there's an unfortunate negative in that their shoulders pop off very easily when you're trying to articulate them and run into their bodies, but otherwise they're just phenomenal!

Also balances out pretty well when Zenkaiser and Magine are my favourite in terms of design and characters. Ended up very well-rounded here!

Yeah, unfortunately and probably predictably there was no way to replicate the complex starry pattern with paint, so it is all stickers all the way despite how amazing the rest of the line's been so far with paint apps. And just continuing with the downsides, the Haouken's emblem can't move up and down the blade either!

On the plus side, the stickers do allow them to capture even the most obscure details like the small stardust in the background, and he does end up looking lovely nonetheless.

It's really funny that they showed this off, but this is basically part of the SO-DO Developers' development of Xross Saber where at one point they thought they might be able to reproduce it with clear plastic; and so they used Espada as a test. Why Espada? They note that they can't even remember why!

The entire blog is basically, like, detailing a battle between the dev team and Xross Saber's design and how impossible it was for them. Keep in mind; this is the team that has managed to tackle incredible stuff before like Decade Complete 21's cards or Vulcan Rampage Gatling's robo animal skeletons, and go above and beyond to include as much paint apps and extra accessories as possible. So for THIS to give them this much trouble and frustration, woo boy, you know this was a hard one for them!

Oh god, this is going to be a pain to sticker. I can't blame G-San though, they put him in an impossible situation with this suit. I appreciate the sheer amount of work they took into trying to make it work

And keep in mind, uh. There are at least two more Xross Sabers!

Lord... I feel learning to how paint would be faster and less stressful than doing that at least three times, probably one more in the last episode too

I called it was going to be a pain to sticker, although I joped they'd manage to at least paint a bot of it. Honestly I probably would've preferred them using clear glitter for this. Also, just imagine how muxh of a pain the other forms are going to be, when Brave Dragon has one of the smoothest designs of all the armours.

Maybe they can return to this clear/glitter format when they do Kamen Rider Meteor!

So folks, I need to catch up on SO-DO. I'm trying to decide where to start. I want the genesis riders (and the other p-bandai gaim sets, since I missed those pre-orders), saber waves 5 through 7, both den-o waves, double, kuuga wave 2 and one of the bikes, and all 3 waves of gaim... which is a lot tbh. So where do y'all think I should start?

Hmm that is a lot to collect. I recommend starting with the older releases as things start to get harder to find. I don't think SO-DO and similar candy toys are exactly reissued like regular toys.

I'd also recommend starting with the older toys because, unless you really love slathering your figures in topcoat nail polish, the stickers are going to be adhesive-less if you wait too long. I did some Build figures last year that had stickers that were so unadhesive, they weren't even really stickers anymore, just colored paper I was massaging a toy with. If you put off those Den-O or Double ones much longer, it's just going to be a miserable experience trying to sticker them.

That is interesting. Not long ago I picked up a toy made in the 90s, sealed in box with stickers. The stickers still stuck great. Probably different quality. But yeah, get to those older releases!

So I've gotten 3/4 of the Blade crew together (and they look great), and I was wondering - what's the best place to get Blade himself? He's going for 1500 Yen on Manda, and that's more than I'd want to pay for one little candy guy on his own.

Next up, Crimson Saber! Neat!! What's even neater is the parts this guy comes with -- he includes two different swords with slider position set at Rekka/Nagare/Ikazuchi and Gekido/Hayate/Suzune; and a stand adapter to have the Seiken flying like he summoned them!

And FINALLY... SHODO-O 7!! This baby releases in October with a ridiculous amount of guys. Rogue! Cronus! Wild Chalice!! All of these guys are great; with Rogue and Wild in particular completing the Build and Blade lineups. Included are different types of Wild Slasher, the Nebula Steam Gun and a shushing hand for Cronus!

Where things get REALLY wild though are the armybuilders! You've got Ride-Players with their gun and sword modes... and then Blade's Dark Roaches and Albino Roaches, which yes; include parts to make the goddamn monolith. SHODO can get insane sometimes!

So now that the Apple armor exists I fully expect them to do a Forbidden Fruit-thingy figure pack. Probably Kamuro, Mars and Idunn, maybe with a Jam thrown in if they want to bump the number up to 4 (or another Baron, which is gonna be really eh for me) Which leaves us with Knuckle Jinba, Duke Dragon, Tyrant, Baron Lemon, Duke Sengoku, and Saver. Do I want them all? Maybe. I love these left field releases from the SODO team.

I imagine they'd do a movie-themed pack of Bujin Gaim, Kamuro, Mars and either Jam or Gaim Yami
