Wow yeah that price is high :/ I really hope 2017 isn't going to see a markup on prices.
Anyway I said I'd get him and I still want to, but I know Jugglus is out that month as well so he'll take priority funds-wise. I'll grab Goku if I can swing it. |
Shenron and Kid Goku are going to be the only Dragon Ball Figuarts I'd need to buy ASAP.

It is about time. Now if they can get Boo and Jaco out already!! His price seems about right. Figuart prices have really skyrocketed in the last 18 months, so this is pretty low. Of course, I still need to get SS Vegeta, Nappa, original Vegeta 2.0, and whomever else has come out since Whis that isn't a battle damaged version or repaint. Plus, Goku comes with Kinto-Un and Korin. |

And if I look back like 3 years when I started collecting figures cost like 10 bucks more now which is fair considering how much they improved. I don't see what has "skyrocketed" here. Maybe you're talking about western movie lines and stuff but I assume those are more expensive because of techniques used to realize them and because of the licensing deal not being as favorable for them. Now that I look at this way, Kid Goku has the price of a regular Dragonball Figuart, and they probably choose that price on purpose and tried to make it worth it by including more accesories. Quote:

If he actually comes with all those accessories than yes, he's definitely fairly priced. Hopefully more pictures come out soon to confirm it.

Kamen Riders were also less than $40 but now they are $60. Hell, look at the Ultraman line. Ultraman (not anniversary one) and Baltan last year when they came out were like $45-50. Ultra Seven was $55, Metron was $60, and King Joe was $75. That is more than I paid for my Ultraman with the buildings and King Joe didn't include a single accessory. The least they could have done was given him an alternate gun arm from Ginga. Gomora is the only one who I felt was priced right. It's not just Figuarts though, even MonsterArts are overpriced. I've yet to buy the GMK and 54 Godzillas because they are each $20 too much. 54 should be $45 and GMK should be $55 at the most as neither come with any accessories. |

The figures with the older bodies at that time were like 4500¥, that's a difference in about 10 bucks. I have no idea where you shop and what you paid, but I'm talking about Tamashii's prices here, which is the only thing you could criticise them for, changing currency rates or markups by Bluefin are not their fault. Shinkocchou Seihou is, of course, more expensive, but the mainline Rider Figuarts have gone through a similar price change as the Dragonball stuff. Kamen Rider Gaim was 4104¥, Ex-Aid is 5184¥. About 10 bucks more in 3 years. Quote:
King Joe is more expensive due to more plastic being used I assume. Quote:

Well you have me on the Kamen Rider "main line" then. When was the last time Bluefin released a Kamen Rider Figuart? They never did anything from Gaim, Ghost, Drive, or Ex-Aid.
Did they even release the new versions of Skull, Accel, and Hardboiler? Quote:

They did release them. They are releasing the new Shin Ichigo figuart from what I've seen on their Facebook page.
