Power Rangers S.P.D. aired some of its episodes out of order.

I saw the first episode of Megaforce again. After watching the first few episodes of Goseiger i noticed that the first battle of the Mega rangers was horribly edited. I noticed they kept jumping locations a lot.

Are they out of order on Netflix too? Like, are the episodes numbers wrong?

So I just finished a week long venture of watching Power Rangers SPD and overall, it was not a bad series. I have mixed feelings on DekaRanger, so when this series fired aired back in 2005, I really had no intention of really watching it. Now that I have done so, aside from some specifics, the show was enjoyable and is probably the last Power Rangers series to be so, but I won't know for certain until I finally get to sit down and see if RPM is as good as people make it out to be. Nevertheless, first, the rangers. The rangers themselves were a nice diverse cast of characters, but they really did not grow that much. Sky seemed to be the only one of them that had continuous development throughout the entire show, while Jack seemed to have development only in the first several episodes and then the last few. Syd, Z, and Bridge were pretty much the same characters from episode's 3-38 without ever changing. However, the worst is the Omega Ranger. For one thing, keeping him in costume all of the time really hurt the potential this character had, but what was worse is that he was pretty much just there just because he was in DekaRanger. He was used as nothing more than back-up, wasting a perfectly good time to make him stand out from the others because he was from the future. This is one of the series' major downfalls and one of its worst parts. Cat and Boom had far more development than this guy and they were secondary characters. Hell, the Alpha Squad were better developed. Speaking of which, while as a fan it was cool to see them utilize the MegaRanger/PRiS helmets for A Squad, the execution was laughable. I am not sure if it was just the black, their necks being so thin, or what, but it looked more like someone had just Photoshopped the faces of the helmets onto them as it looked really out of place. Finally, Doggie Crugger also got on my nerves at times as he would just randomly get all pissy for something that happened off-screen or no reason at all. Grumm, Broodwing, and Morgana/Mora were a mixed bag as well. Grumm's costume looked ridiculous to the point that I prefer to call him Disco Skeletor, and while he seemed like he was supposed to be a threatening villain, it is hard to take him serious when he is walking down a hallway holding a child's hand. Mora and Morgana were just down right useless. What was the point of having a girl turn out to actually be a grown up if you aren't going to utilize that either? Why not just have her be a little girl the whole time? Or just have her be a woman with the mindset of a girl, NOT BOTH!! Broodwing was the only one who seemed to know what he was doing the entire series (which probably has more to do with the Deka footage), but his character was once again wasted by his pathetic last few moments of begging for forgiveness. That and he is taken out with the most underwhelming fight scene in the entire show. The episodes themselves were not bad, with a handful of cringe worthy moments spread throughout. The first team up with the Dino Thunder cast was pretty good, but my god, the second team up does not make any sense. The episode itself does not fit in at all with any of the episodes in the series, and the execution was pretty awful. In fact, I'd probably say it is tied with Insomnia (a clip show that brings up one subject matter that is never mentioned again) and Perception (a point of view type episode that should have been interesting, but was down right boring) as the worst episode of the entire series. To make matters worse, the last few episodes of the series just feel rushed as if they were cramming a 5 parter into three episodes. I won't go into specifics so I can avoid spoilers (even though the show is 8 years old), but it was half-assed and like Broodwing's final battle, underwhelming. They also felt a bit out of place and things the previous few episodes were hinting at seemed to not even appear here. Oh, and the CGI in the final mech battle was down right terrible. As I said before, overall, the series was not bad. It had a lot of great moments to it that did outshine the bad, but there was so much potential wasted here. Finally, the Michael Bay explosions get really annoying after a while to the point that I just started screaming the dialog from the Robot Chicken Michael Bay Presents: Explosions! movie trailer. With that said, I give Power Rangers SPD a 6/10. |

Oops, that should have been a 6, not a 7.
Two out of 5 would be a little low as I'm grading it compared to other Power Rangers series. |

That ticked me off if only because Doggie's wife (Arsinia) was ugly as sin. The canine make-up worked well for a male character but not a female one. Kat was about 9000x more attractive. |
