I think Jan did the annoying voice better than Ban. Isn't it strange, though, that we had a whole continuous string of "idiot Reds" from Dekaranger to Go-onger that was broken only by Boukenger? :confused:

I really do like his voice actually. Best annoying voice for any character I think. And Sosuke really was a giant idiot. :lol

To be fair, everyone in show reacted with confusion to Jan's words, relying on context and body cues to figure out what the hell he was talking about :lol

But the decision to just arbitrarily add Ban as Red over picking Jasmine or Hoji just never made sense to me. His skills were superb, yes, but everything else seriously was lacking. He never thought ahead, he didn't work well with a team (Initially, at least), he was constantly at arms with the others (Granted, Hoji was kind of a douche at first, though), coupled with his constant brashness and impatience, he didn't seem like leader material.

Hoji was aloof and distant, yet he still worked so perfectly with a team that, under his lead, they captured a monster so quickly the public didn't even know what the fuck :p

Also another point is that Gekiranger seems rather decentralized in leadership anyway. As far as I have watched in LWW, Jan is not really portrayed as a leader per se, but just one point of an equal triangle.

In fact, I think it's remarkable that Jan hasn't gotten anything preferential for being a Red. He gets the same upgrades, and equal number of weapons, etc. The only thing that is a bit skewed in his favor, perhaps, is his larger mecha.

You're about to see in the nexxt set of episodes that Ran is chosen as the captain of the team. Something they actually reference for quite some time. She is their leader even if Jan's the red.

Yeah, I think I said something like that earlier before.
While a character is named a captain, there really isn't a solid leader in their trio, and they all seem like equals, which I enjoy.

Also, while a staple of every sentai (Ignore individual forms, form megazord immediately), I feel it works in Geki. They all have to work in sync for GekiTouja. It really feels like Geki wanted a single mecha but marketing wanted a combiner (Same thing Gokai experienced).

What about Bouken? GoGoDump is like, 90% of Daibouken :lol

That would be pretty awesome. Honest Heart definitely makes better leader material than Unbreakable Body.

The point of the episode was that they were ineffective with a chain of command during the heat of battle (And then she becomes a delinquent...Yeah...)

Yeah but they still reference her as being the captain later. And she takes charge of situations like, all the time. It's not a huge spoiler and we will be watching the episodes that make her captain next week.

I really can't recall them bringing up the captain thing more than one other occasion, and that was when Ken joined up...

I do like that they build up GekiViolet's appearance. A lot better than, say, DekaBreak's or GokaiSilver's (And LEAGUES better than GoseiKnight's).

It takes a while, but places establishing the character and story over just showing off his bitchin' suit, and I appreciate that (One of the many reasons why I love Geki).

When Ken joins, when Ran's mother arrives and a couple other instances where she just sort of takes charge and handles the situation by directing the others.

Yeah, I'm honestly drawing blanks on those situations...
Oh well, I guess LWW will get to those points eventually.

I watched the first episode of Tensou Sentai Goseiger.

I really like the voices of the villains. Buredoran does sound better as Vrak, but close enough, y'know?

Alata is creepy. He also cannot emote.

Why is there a child?

Well, the thing is, when Megaforce first aired, I loved every second of it (more or less). When I was watching the first episode of Goseiger, I was wondering when it would end. You may have liked it better, but I didn't.

I do agree with him that the first episode of Megaforce was better than Goseiger's. Not saying overall it's better than Goseiger, but simply taking the first episodes into account I like Megaforce's better.

Nozomo comes into his own after Gosei Knight is introduced, and even more so when you watch Goseiger x Gokaiger 199 Heroes. He's not in all the movie but I did enjoy the scenes he was in. Buredoran Brajira will become one of your favorite characters, I promise you this. It's nearly impossible to watch Goseiger and not end up loving him. So much I still hope he becomes a Sentai Shocker and ends up in all the future movies.
Nozomo and his Father are there to help the Goseigers learn about Earth, and who they're protecting. Otherwise you'd have five homeless angels wandering aimlessly through Tokyo.

The show really picks up once Gosei Knight arrives. Because he brings the badass into this show. I promise you that.

The first 10 episodes may not make the best case for Goseiger but even with my sentai bias aside I still think it's far better than Megaforce.

They don't. I'll admit that. But the first three episodes of Gosei Knight appearing certainly make an excellent case.

Well of course Ban doesn't seem like leadership material, he's not the leader of the Dekarangers. Umeko is.

Gekiranger 34.

Holy crap, that was incredible. I never really liked whatever it was called in Jungle Fury, but Sai Dai Oh is awesome. That whole episode was just one long string of epic moments.

I am currently watching Magiranger. I have only watched the first 6 but it's not making me watch the next episode as soon as i can. it's just something i watch when i bored. Hopefully it gets better

Gekiranger 35. So, how many people do you think died when the Gekirangers threw Maku through three skyscrapers in a row? :p

Just finished watching the Jetman series. It's yet another Sentai show I managed to really like especially in regarding most of the story and character development. I even like a decent amount of that series' mecha battles though it doesn't compare to the mecha battles from Zyuranger, of course, and even the old mecha aesthetics that were used before that series, Jet Icarus in particular, kinda grew on me a bit as I watched the Jetman's episodes as well as the episodes of Liveman with Live Robo. I can see why alot of people really love this series and it's probably another series I'm adding on my list of favorite Sentai shows even though it's still pretty short.

Up next, more viewing of subbed episodes of Megaranger which I'm really enjoying more and more after each episode and maybe subbed episodes of Gingaman which I feel rather neutral towards though I really like Bull Black since he's the only character so far that I honestly considered to be outright interesting, the things within the series actually do pick up a bit when he made his first appearance, and his music themes just kicked ass. Not to mention, probably the best character in the series overall in my humble opinion. Will also get back watching the remaining 19 episodes of Liveman at some point.

It's moments like that where I kind of hope every city in Japan has it's own abandoned building district :lol
