Persona 4 Golden
Finally beat Ameno-Sagiri after leveling everybody up to level 80. Batman Arkham Asylum I'm trying to rescue Dr Young again. The thing about this game is that it its very corridorish. Granted, it makes the transition from combat to stealth scenarios a lot better but I don't like linearity. Borderlands I have to fight General-Knoxx-trap again?!?!?! |
Persona 3 Portable:
Nearing the end, and I decided to fight Nyx. Nearly got all the social links maxed out, just got the Dying Young Man and Old Couple maxed, and I'll be working on Aeigs' Also doing the Void Quest…I effing hate the Chariot & Justice Full Moon Boss. |
I'm almost done with Justice for all case 3... Thank god.
|

Currently playing Destiny as well got it on the PS3 because I'm a bumb and don't wanna shell out for a PS4 anytime soon :lol
Sadly it's nto as pretty as the current gen consoles, so everything looks a bit pixlated or blurred from a far distance. It's most noticeable when your at the tower and over looking the city. For gameplay it feels ever much like CoD but that Halo fluidity and pace to it. The armor and gear feels very much like a Diablo type of system. |
I had the worst thing happen to me today. I have had this craving to replay REmake, which will be the first time I have touched it in several years. I start playing it today and I turned it off halfway through the game as I was bored out of my mind. I have NEVER been bored playing any of the classic RE games before. What the hell happened? Did I truly lose all of my love for the series completely?
|
I just beat the third case of Justice for all, tomorrow i'm gonna start the final case.

Edit: And hit max level. |
Worst part about the Destin beta: You're level capped at 8, but you can get weapons up to at least 10. >_<
|
So i'm playing through the final case of Ace attorney 2, now i made it to the one good scene in this case! The return of Miles Edgeworth!
|
I re downloaded the secret world. An really cool urban fantsy mmo. One of the few mmo ill actually care about the story.
|
I am doing a second run-through of Shin Megami Tensei IV, carrying over my levels, items, demons etc. I got the Law ending my first round through and was not satisfied with it.
|
Playing Playstation all stars on the vita since that was one the games my cousin gave me with the vita... and This game is pretty lack luster. I think I would rather much prefer to play J-stars instead.

Make that happen. I got Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMix and... Yes. God I missed this game, and it's only better with the controls from KH2. Especially how you interact with triangle, so much easier to talk and do anything. Ah, nostalgia. |

2.5 is the one I've been waiting for. I like KH, but KH2 was the best. Drive Forms, a much better combat system, hell's yes. |

KH Dream Drop Distance is a really good game too, wish we could get a HD-console port, but it is pretty recent. |

I hate being Charmed in P3, I genuinely do.
Well... only a few hours of grinding lost. T_T |
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. So many nostalgic feelings right now...

Batman Arkham Asylum
Ivy, what the hell is going on? And put on some pants. Persona 4 Golden Not much happening yet. Let's see what happens January 20th |
Sorry for the double post.
Persona 4 Golden Holy SHIT YOU CAN EVOLVE PERSONAS A SECOND TIME?!?!?! THAT'S FUCKING AMAZING! Got Loki and that dude is just fucking wiping the floor in the Hollow forest. Well, that ski trip was fun. But it was hilarious when Naoto and Yu were having that weird conversation that sounded like sexy time. Nanako returning from the hospital was fun too. And Marie is... the destroyer of worlds? The fuck? Wait, why did Maragret and the Nose take her in then? I know she lost her memory but you think someone with amnesia would have tipped them off to look and maybe cause some trust issues. I've encountered a problem. The way I've been playing the dungeons is using 3 people, getting to the end of the dungeon fighting the boss, and using the other set of 3 to grind/ get through the dungeon in the next area. But the Hollow forest has difficult enemies, but don't give out a lot of XP. And I'm afraid of leaving because it might disappear, so I'm stuck grinding ridiculous amounts with almost no SP due to the fucking first floor taking it all away. Arkham Asylum This Killer croc shit was annoying. I'm not a fan of the Scarecrow sequences. And this last one was really fucking weird. The game kicks you out near the elevator shafts and the opening cutscenes from the beginning of the game play. Except Joker is taking in Bats. And he shoots him and the game says you need to use the middle stick to dodge. Mother fucker this is not the n64. And you crawl out of a grave and you see Batman eating a raw rat. The reason why I'm not a fan of these sequences is because it doesn't showcase an element of Batman very well. Physiological combat is an element of Batman and to have it be represented by only combat sequences is a shame. They should have some spots like that Joker Batman flipping where you have to think quick and get out of tough situations and then fight some enemies. But I guess that's asking too much from your average gamer I guess. |
Sorry for the triple post.
Persona 4 Golden Finished it! And while I didn't get the super best ending, I'm happy with the ending I got. But I find it kinda BS all of the questions aren't answered in the ending I got. Persona 4 Golden is probably one of the best games I've ever played. And it has a really really great story and subplots. it takes the JRPG genre, streamlines it, flips it on its head and makes it unique. While its combat system isn't too terribly innovative, the social link integration is a nice bonus. It is one of the few pieces of media that gets teenagers and portrays them in a good way. It seems like pop culture tends to portray teenagers as either complete balls of angst with no other emotions, or sex-driven maniacs(both guys and girls). This game is also one of the few games that has awesome representation of both males and females. Your party has an equal amount of both guys and girls, making this game pretty gender neutral in terms of appeal but also inclusive of various issues. Sexuality being a big one. And while there are hot spring scenes with the girls wearing little to nothing behind convenient fog, the game doesn't make every female oversexualized or ridiculous. Persona 4 Golden is a game that encompasses the best of gaming's past, present and potential future. By streamlining the JRPGs of old into something that feels fresh, along with the modern conveniences like voice acting, and showing the future of games that aren't afraid to be more inclusive of more then just JRPG pretty boys or bald straight white dudes. Everybody who is into JRPGs, anime or hell even video games in general should get this game.I say get Golden. While the PSN store has vanilla P4 for cheaper, I feel like Golden adds so much (extra story scenarios, Marie's story, the bonus epilogue, more Personas) its worth getting it for the extra 10 or 20 dollars. And a Playstation Vita. Atlus, you have sold me Persona 5. Now that I played the best game on Vita, what should I do next? |
I'm at the end game for Ace attorney 2, then i'm moving on to the third game!
|
Just played the first episode of 'The Wolf Among Us'. When I first finished the Mass Effect trilogy I wished I could play it again without the FPS elements which I felt were tacked on. That is basically what Telltale gave us with The Walking Dead and it actually worked really well but here...I'm not so sure. Getting a game where I get to play as a werewolf cop...I just wish I could bite more and talk less.
|
I started playing the PS4 version of THe Last of Us today. I'm nearly done with Pittsburg, but I have to say I have had some weird glitches occur that were not present on the PS3 version. For starters, at the beginning of the game when Joel and Tommy run into the building as they are running away from the infected the room took about 5 seconds to show up as they were standing in a pink box at first. Secondly, when I'm in the hotel and climb through a window, Ellie just floats through the wall. It is weird. The game is still phenomenal though. The upgraded graphics look great most of the time, but there are moments where it looks no different than how it did on the PS3. Nevertheless, it was well worth it because I love the PS4 controller and it has the DLC on it (which I'll play after I beat the main game).

Persona 3: It's final boss time!
You are going down Nyx... slowly... really slowly... I'm loving the mechanics of this fight, the arcana switching is brilliant, not only from a story point, but also gameplay wise it makes everything feel faster. It's just atfer the 6th or so cycle, it gets repetitive... Anyways, went with MC, Ken, Akihiko and Mitsuru. Which totally wasn't the party I had in mind or trained for this... but it's been working very well. *Esit: It's dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Batman Arkham Asylum
Wow, that was shorter then I expected. That Joker fight at the end was really dumb. All you do is just beat up regular dudes, pull him down and punch him 3 times. I'm glad Arkham City had a lot better boss fights. Arkham Asylum is a good game, but I might have rated it lower due to playing City first and feel stifled by the amount of stuff I can't do. I don't feel incentivized enough to go look for more Riddler trophies. Or play the challenge maps since City has a better combat system anyways. Devil Survivor Overclocked As you all probably saw in the how is everyone thread, I finally beat Beldr. But now there's more Bel demons competing for the crown. FUCK! Only god knows the kind of horror those future bosses could provide. Beldr was hell, I can't begin to even fathom the ways Belial is gonna fuck me over. |
I personally prefer Asylum to City because Asylum felt tighter from a narrative stand point. Plus, AA is more Metroid while AC is more Infamous, and I like Metroid more. I will agree that the final battle with Joker was very lackluster though. That was my main complaint with the game from the first time I beat it.

Both are way above average for a game, but I think Arkham City improved upon Arkham Asylum in every way, from gameplay to story.
Arkham Origins, however, regressed. |
Persona 3 FES: The Journey.
The Dark Hour is an anomaly unknown to most people, hidden between 12:00 and 12:01 AM, it's a period where all humans turn into coffins, electronic equipments turn off, and monsters known as Shadows roam the world, in the middle of this is the mysterious tower of Tartarus, a bizarre building full with shadows that only appears during the Dark Hour. You take control of the field leader of SEES (Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad) a group of students that have the ability to keep their form during this phenomenon, and it's up to you to unravel the mistery of the Dark Hour, Tartarus and the Shadows. Part RPG, part Social Sim, P3 works on a very interesting time system. The mornings are taken by your school, the life of a student isn't easy, so be prepared for the quiz questions, exams and all other kind of surprises that may come your way. The afternoons give you the most freedom, the games has large supporting cast with which you can establish "Social Links", do you want to join a sports club? Maybe get yourself a girlfriend? Shouldn't somebody take care of the lonely girl in the park? It's up to you, the Journey may be set but the characters you interact with and how you do so is up to you, just be sure to remember: Time never stands still. The night brings with it the Dark Hour, exploration of Tartarus consists of escalating it's randomly created floors and fighting the Shadows within it, combat is turn-based, but quickly paced, it's a classic elemental weakness system, but exploiting it grants you extra turns, and makes encounters fast and exciting. The one thing combining everything together is the Velvet Room, here you can summon Personas to aid you in battle, but the amount and strength of them is derived from your Social Links, and likewise having the correct Persona in your arsenal can help your social interactions. It's an odd combo, but it works perfectly. As for the story, it's really engaging, the first few months are kinda formulaic (full moon, fight boss, get a party member) but the mystery of the whole situation keeps you going, and by the second half of the game, everything becomes an unforgettable rollercoaster ride with enough twists to last a lifetime. So all in all it's a solid experience, even without the gameplay improvements of it's sucessor.... and yet... I can't help but love this one more. I think there are two main elements to this. First is the way the character interaction works, the main character is another silent, perfect and completely stoic RPG protagonist, but the game pokes fun at this, you will get called on that, one of your party member is clearly mad at your geenral attitude and more importantly, the character development doesn't gravitate around you, sure, the Social Links do, but the character arcs of SEES are for the biggest part independent of your interaction and have great development. Another factor is in the combat, you can't control your party directly, so you have to learn to trust em and know their tactics to work efficiently, every character has it's own skills and priorities in combat that reflect their personalities, and that adds a new layer of attachment to them, whether it comes to Akihiko weakening the opponent, Mitsuru using Charm or Koromaru spamming Mudo every chance he gets (seriously dude, it never works, please stop.) every single one of me has it's style, and as much as thy may annoy you at some point you can bet they will save your ass after you mess up. As for the other, it's a matter of the central motif, Persona 4 is poem about life, but Persona 3 is a grim reminder of death. We may die at any point, and we will, that much is true for all humans, but that doesn't mean we should stop living our lives, if anything that is more reason to enjoy life to it's fullest, because even if all Journeys lead to the same goal, the way they unravel it's up to each one of us. |
I just beat the first case of Trials and tribulations.
Tomorrow i'm gonna start case 2. |
Persona 3 FES
This first half hour of the game was really interesting, with some of the kids already knowing about Personas and shadows. Yukari is ridiculously cute. I'm gonna date her in game once that becomes an option. That hair and those eyes man. And she's so feminine. |

So been playing Battleride War 2 for thel ast little while. It's s'right, if you liked the first battle ride war you'll probably like this game. The new gameplay additions are cool and everyting, but it feels more like an expansion than a true sequil. |
Good God whoever was the planner for where all the Heart Container pieces in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds would be was sadistic. Those stupid Rupee finding games and that Octo-baseball game or whatever...
Plus, I had to look up where to get the Pegasus Boots as I never would have thought on how to get them otherwise. |
Trials Fusion DLC came out, which means it's time to burn a hole into my thumb again.
This goddamn extreme track... UGH! |
I just went through the first part of the second case of Ace attorney 3.
