Just saw episode 45 of Appmon and it was a cute episode. Can't really find anything to hate about it and hearing the digivolution theme from Adventures in Appmon is very pleasing. Plus Globemon fighting along side War Greymon was cool. Stll waiting for the god Appmons.

Would you say Appmon is worth watching?

If you need me to elaborate on why it's another good entry in the franchise, here you go. Appmon, to summarize, is a show personally consider to be one of the best Digimon shows in recent years, despite all the hate (though, the hate is mainly just nitpicks on how "different" the show is). Basically, it's a modern take on the Adventure formula, reigniting the whole "what if my ___ came to life" idea, as well as keeping the focus on new technology. The Appmon are still technically Digimon- they're just tied to apps and specialize in certain functions, rather than just being any old monster. The reason it's "different" is because the director and writer wanted to make a digimon show for the modern generation, a series that truly captures the spirit of Digimon Adventure. And that meant breaking away from what previous shows kept doing and pushing towards new frontiers. The characters are one of the better parts of the show. If you're annoyed by their catchphrases, don't fear- after the 12th episode, the show begins to dial down on their usage and they are said less frequently in the late 20's onward. It does drag a bit at the start, but keep pushing through (skip 26 if you're watching from the beginning; it's a clip show) and you'll find a great, if not enjoyable, series. :D An interview with the director and writer of Appmon, and one of the creators of Digimon can be found here. |

Not to my knowledge. But, there are Appmon centered around file deletion, rebooting, and restarting. That's as close as I think we're gonna get with "angel apps". And then there are the God Grade Appmon, which we've yet to see in the series, but are the strongest Appmon in existence (going by Grade). Though, if you meant an "angel-styled Appmon", the only one I can think of is Aidmon, a Standard Grade Appmon whose App is a "Rescue App". |

Also, is there a beetle app? |

And for the "beetle app"... no. I don't recall an insect-themed Appmon. |

So that Digimon Tri stage play with Aoninger as Tai and Shinken Yellow as Sora is over.

I also watched the Applimon episode just for Agumon / WarGreymon and it was okay. The binary code effect for the higher level Digimon is quite neat, and even though it was a CG model it looked a lot better than the Tri design IMO.
Anyways, some Digivolving Spirits news! We have another blog-post focusing on MetalGarurumon this time. Which means more kick-ass prototype shots! http://tamashii.jp/column/75/ http://i.imgur.com/wbO6J0F.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0k1hjXh.jpg Plus, we know Diaboromon is next so we get a new promotional picture featuring all three figures: http://i.imgur.com/vwWewSn.jpg In another shot, the Diaboromon figure is sitting on a table, and it seems like it will come with a display stand simply because his spindly legs might not be able to properly support the weight of the figure. But as a nice touch, it seems like the figure comes with the clock it used in the movie to count down the time until the nuke hits, it's sitting on the base of the display stand. And lastly, they mention Alphamon again so he's probably next after Diaboromon. Cool stuff, I'm really into this line! Even the packaging is fantastic, this is the kind of box I love, fully enclosed with great Artwork on the front. http://i.imgur.com/aEXvZv3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/t7o7MJF.jpg |
Anyone else kind of like those Prototype colors more than they like the actually colors?
|
Wow, that box art is GORGEOUS!
I really, really like where they're heading with these but I just can't sink any more money into yet another line. Really looking forward to reviews of these guys though. Quote:

Where the hell did they put Keramon's head? Did they split it in half then store it in Diaboromon's shoulders?

This line is hella appealing and I might end up trying to collect it :lol

I've already fallen down the rabbit hole and this line hasn't even started yet :lol |
Soo I made a Digimon, what do you guys think?
Mutalitmon: The Mutilation Digimon, a virus attributed mega This digimon is a cold careless one who will experiment on any poor, unfortinate thing that crosses it's path. It is able to grab energy and absorb or transfer it to anything it likes. It has developed a nasty virus that it calls the Horde Virus that runs through it's body so it can infect any digimon with the virus. Once a digimon is infected with the virus they are forced to digivolve into a Hordemon, a powerful digimon that follows Mutalitmon's beck and call. It's final goal seems to be uncleared as it is always thinking of it's experiments. I figured it would be a big bad that has amassed an army of Hordemon. Eventually different types of Hordemon will appear due to the virus either changing or affects stronger digimon differently forcing them to become new types of Hordes. The Hordemon can only be turned back to who they once were only if Mutalitmon takes out the virus. But when this happens the digimon is unstable from the virus severely messing with their code that the only way to truly save them would be to kill them so they can be reborn. I even figured that Mutalitmon will capture a child that had no digimon and experiment on them by injecting the virus and various data it has collected over it's experiments to see how they will affect a human. The child would become a bio digimon monstrosity. When it loses some Hordemon to the heroes it will be slightly upset but mostly happy for it will have something to research which means for fun experimenting for it. |
So Appmon episode 49 had people basically being crushed into data while screaming for their lives as they basically die. Then the said human data is is fed to the big bad of the show. DAMN! Has any Digimon series actually killed people before?

That was the first time a Digimon design had me exclaim "What the fuck?"
|
One person said because Apollomon and Dianamon are the sun and moon so GraceNovamon is suppose to be a galaxy digimon.

But it looks more like the final form of a Yugioh protagonist's Ace monster. |

Tri 5 is subbed and out.
EDIT: Just finished it and wow it has a slow start but damn it does not end on a good note with Ophanimon Falldown merging with Rasielmon to become an angel of death looking digimon and Tai currently missing because there is no way he is actually dead. |
Yeah, tri. 5 is honestly just, the fifth part of tri. More of the same. People who've enjoyed it so far will probably like this too, but honestly I'm kind of over it. Nothing about the movie excited me or interested me, which disappoints me more than the movie itself. There's one or two things that happen that are at least a little cool or interesting but I just can't seem to be able to care.
Also only one movie left and still not addressing the 02 kids at all? What the fuck? There's so much they could have done with the time they've spent on (what feels like) going endlessly in circles with the characters. Oh, and Appmon just ended. I wouldn't really compare the two, but honestly, Appmon does share at least some flaws with tri. Mainly that they spent way too much time on vacuous and inconsequential shit at times when maybe they should have devoted more attention to the ongoing plot and characters. Not that I'd lever the filler complaint at it because ultimately it is an episodic show by design, but they just...frequently keep devoting entire episodes to bullshit up to like episode 49. Personally I would have at least given Ai Onmon soon after Yuujin got Offmon or something. Feels like it would have been a more productive thing to pad out the late-middle of the show (and infinitely preferable to bootquest). Also, the God Grade Appmon should have showed up earlier. There's something commendable about only breaking out the final forms at the very end of the show, but it meant they weren't able to properly show off how powerful they actually were because Leviathan was just too powerful. Spending most of the very limited time you have as final forms over 3-4 episodes losing is not a good showing. As for the ending itself, it was fine, I suppose. Up until the last 10 seconds or so. That was just too pointless. At least the fight scene was cool. I'd give the show as a whole like, 5-6/10, max. There were a few things I did like about it, at least. |
I wonder what it would be like if Saban did a second Digimon movie back in the day? They could have edited the two Digimon Tamer movies and Revenge of Diaboromon into one movie. It would be interesting on how it would have turn out.
|
It would not turn out well.
|
I am bored so random question time~!
What is everyone's thoughts of Bio Digimon from Savers? Did you like it? Did you have any problems with it? Did you decide what your Bio Digimon form would be? I was fine with it but I hated how the megas were done. My choices were Loader Leomon for ultimate and Megidramon for mega. |
The Bio Hybrids were fine, mainly because I wasn't bothered by the Matrix/Biomerge in Tamers, and I eventually grew to deal with the Spirit Evolution in Frontier, so it felt like a possible progression.
|
So... Digivolving Spirits Diaboromon is now officially a March 2018 release and they revealed the Keramon-form... and it looks like complete shit :lol
I'm aware of the limitations they have to work with but this is the first one where one form looks like straight up garbage, Agumon and Gabumon could at least pass for what they are. I really hope Alphamon/Dorumon does better. http://tamashii.jp/special/digimon_d...g/#03diablomon https://i.imgur.com/H2mpbyp.jpg |
