I didn't even realize Ohma Zi-O went way up there... Glad I got him just because I liked the suit lol.
But yeah I can't wait for base Cross-Z. Really regretted passing on him. Less certain on how much I'd want any of the others, assuming there aren't any surprised from who we saw leading the vote. Maybe Evolt too... |
Ohma Zi-O won! He got the most votes and pre-orders are due to go live on February 12th. Other 50th anniversary related releases (including the other winners) will be announced ahead of time on each month

I'm actually surprised he won considering all the demand shown for the Build exclusives from the poll alone. But hey, if he won, that's great for anyone who wanted him that missed out!

Number #2 and #3 are colored blue and red. I suspect the blue one being most definitely Cross-Z and red being a toss between Evolt and Type Tridoron.

Def feel they should make this a recurring thing especially for stuff that limited we b exclusives. New fans of the franchise are made every day and so I feel they should give them a chance at buying past releases they weren't aware of and can only be bought now at outrageous prices. Why give that money to the second-hand market when they can get it back themselves through limited rereleases.

The seihous def need or should be considered for rereleases as well. Seeing as they didn't even do all 20 Heisei riders in the 20 Rider kicks figuarts rerelease line.
As for lack of figuarts news, I'm surprised they haven't confirmed any more Zero-one releases. Rampage Vulcan is tech next up if they're still going in order and I'm not too surprised that Saber hasn't had any news since they aren't going to do their 3 book combos forms as figuarts and the super forms of Saber and Blades just recently debuted. I personally don't like the huge gap in the current show figuarts releases...I remember when the figuarts releases were more closer to the show's debut or within 2 months. |

That's the thing about prototypes shown off at shows they're just that until we actually get release confirmation and preorders open up. They just started doing movie forms and characters again with ZI-O Ohma form, 001, Ichigata and Cross-z Build but still are sidelining final forms even though we have finally seen prototypes of them.
I'm amazed at how fast they showed off Cross-Z Build and confirmed his release also ZI-O Ohma form once he releases but what about Build Genius and Ghost Mugen? I have the same question for Zero-Two which we still haven't seen a prototype of and is one of the simplest final form designs we've had in awhile. This year marks 5 years since Ghost's final form debuted so if we don't get confirmation this year I think they'll save him for the Seihou line. |
I feel like the times of "bunch of prototypes shown off, maybe like three see release" are on their way out, is the thing. The most recent Tamashii Nations had very very few things to show, and most of them major characters rather than minor stuff - Ark-Zero, Calibur, Kiva Emperor, Zeronos; along with a couple returning things like Build Genius and Dark Kiva. About the most minor things we saw were the Toridevendor (a variation of last year's Ridevendor, so we could still see parts swap), Azu (a head swap of Izu), and Naki and Ikazuchi... which were still some of the very very few 01 reveals, leading me to believe that against all odds the 01 line is so popular they just might happen.
Not only that, but we got a lot of things released or at least confirmed from the previous Tamashii Nations, way more than usual and including ones you would have though might not make the cut like the Seihou Kuuga forms. It's actually easier to state what hasn't yet been confirmed -- Seihou Kuuga Growing, the Rise Hopper, Ghost Mugen, Grand Zi-O, Build Genius, Seihou Ridevendor, Seihou Sagohzo and Seihou Dark Kiva. And again, the last four have made repeat appearances since then! So when it comes to prototypes being shown off and then abandoned... yeah, don't think that's happening much anymore. Same goes for Ultraman; I've every confidence that every single thing they showed off recently will see release. |
Sagohzo is definitely coming out this year, though I'm curious where else the OOO line will go beside the obvious Birth renewal. More movie exclusive forms? Putotyra? Greeeed ?
Surprised we didn't get any more Den-O form reveals. Haven't finished watching Den-O yet so I'm not sure if Tamashii can get away with doing an Axe and Rod form two pack by just doing interchangeable chests, or are the backs different? Man, I really want a base form Ultraman Z; especially after foolishly skipping out on Alpha Edge |
Don't get me wrong I have indeed noticed the change in prototypes getting confirmed and released more and more with last year being one of the most productive years with a confirmation and release almost every month. Zero-one has proven to be popular and could def see all characters released just like the Build figuarts but oh wait still no Build Genius despite every other form including the movie ones getting confirmed back to back.
I'm very happy with the amount of stuff showed off becoming a reality more and more but was just pointing out how we still have the problem with figuarts of final forms getting released is still a problem and don't know why or at least now why they're dragging them out over the non-canon/alternate forms. |

Seihou isn't immune to it, either -- we got a strong enough start years ago with Kuuga Ultimate and Kabuto Hyper but we only just recently got Decade Complete despite Seihou Decade debuting around the same time as those guys. We still haven't gotten Hibiki Armed or Agito Shining either - though, fair enough, not very popular guys - and we STILL have yet to see W Xtreme, despite that having two easy recolours that would sell very easily! This company really works in mysterious ways. |

It does indeed seem they don't want to Ghost Mugen because it shares the same engineering as the other Ghost figuarts and prob be awhile just like other riders who don't have figuarts of their final forms. I'm not surprised at all about MCH being confirmed for release and in relative time going off current release schedules. They always at least do the Super forms of riders. It like you said the release schedule and choice of releases is a head scratcher when it comes to characters and forms. |

In terms of Seihou OOO releases, I'd LOVE to see Poseidon and OOO's extra CSM forms, however unlikely they seem. A Seihou of Climax Den-O would honestly be my penultimate Den-O for my shelf since it has all the Taros in one.

Honestly? Reissue. I messed with mine not long ago and I'm impressed at her range. I forgot how good her armor is at getting out of the way of her joints. And realistically she's not a release in dire need of a redo like others are. She holds up way better than one would assume.

Funnily enough, I'd say the same of Wizard Infinity. Unlike the rest of his line, there's nothing actually wrong with him; they used a completely new mold and he comes out a far more solid figure. Definite improvements that could be made to be sure, but like Kivala he's far from bad and would still hold up today!

Yeah as much as some people try to redicule the older female rider figuarts Kivala and Femme helped kicked off the better engineering we find now.

I do wonder if they'll do Diend Complete. It would be the height of hilarity if that was a normal PB exclusive but normal Diend was Tamashii.

I didn't even know about this reissue poll and like 10 of my recent purchases were somewhere high on the poll... Eh, whatever at least I have them now and don't have to wait months to get them

Hey if you can afford them get them is what I say because you'll make your money back when you're ready. All of my purchases from last year were part of the poll except base Cross-z and Lazer bike form since I don't own those and don't care for their aftermarket prices but the others like Ohma ZI-O and Evol I scored before they really inflated.

I am happy to see that Ohma Zi-O is getting a reissue because I did miss out on his initial release but now that Zi-O finished so long ago, I feel like I'm over Zi-O now. Haha

Slightly off-topic but I'm getting a bit annoyed about Tokullectibles' SS Ixa debacle. I asked them on their Twitter if they had any update on when they'd be getting more in to fulfill the orders they still had waiting this morning and got no answer as of this post.
At this point it's kind of frustrating having put a downpayment on an item I was told I'd get like almost two months ago now. |

Seems like most Bandai items are delayed to ship overseas. My Thouser is only coming in next week when the Figma stuff I bought shipped on-time. My local reseller chain also cancelled my Horobi since they "ran out of stocks", they said, can't blame 'em since they gave me a refund and it was a shot in the dark to get a non-aftermarket priced Horobi.
