Yeah, no. Anime is very popular in the western world. Dunno why, but maybe it's because some cartoons that aired in the 80's and 90's were anime (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, Dragonball Z, etc.), cementing anime in the heart of the western world.

Similarly, there are people in Japan (and other Eastern cultures for that matter) that are nuts about the stuff that Westerners produce. Just take a look at all those Japanese Disney commercials.

He has probably had not seen much anime. I notice most people who hate anime have not seen any or have only seen stuff like Naruto, DBZ, Pokemon or the typical Shonen stuff. It's fine if people don't like anime, but it's not good to bash something if you haven't seen any of it.

Good thing I have a lot of backlogs of games and TV shows.

I'd love to have a backlog of ANYTHING but I have to focus on my university studies. Ugh.
