Story wise I feel like RPM may be one of the best seasons we have gotten. It was kind of serious as far as PR goes with essentially dealing with human extinction. While not terrible persay, the ranger aesthetic and zords are far from my favorite even though the cuteness admittedly lightend things up.
Which season suits/zords would have been better suited to the story? Personally I am inclined to go with Boukenger/OO. The mechs having a sort of construction vibe and what not along with the rescue theme of mercury leads me to believe they would have fit in nicely. |
General audience loves to treat Power Rangers as a joke. Do you think the franchise will always be this way? I don'tknow, maybe that'sthe reason I'm having a lovehate relationship with franchise, because it sucks being a fan and people laugh at you because the franchise is a joke even in today's age where everyone claims to be a fan of nerdy franchises because it is cool.
It's just that IGN posted the story about Robert Axelford's passing, and there's always people posting "Lol people still watch Power Rangers?". Granted, IGN is full of assholes, but still. I'm just frustrated, sorry if I come across as salty. |

It also doesn't help that generals only remember MMPR, and it was extremely 90s and cheesy, that people remembered that it's a joke, when other seasons, even MMPR season 3, is better. It just sucks, PR is about the same caliber as TMNT, but TMNT is respected and PR is treated as a joke. |

The 2017 PR movie could have changed people's views on Power Rangers like Transformers 07 did with the Transformers series, but that never happen. |

The MMPR era looks like it was made on a budget of £20 and a few snacks for the production team. Power Rangers being 'cheap' isn't just a Neo-Saban thing, it' a Power Rangers thing.

Neo Saban did help us get Super Sentai on DVD and help import the SH figuarts line for Bluefin. At least, they market their shows and let people know that Power Rangers is still a thing. I remember during the Disney era, the shows had little to no marketing and would air on awful time slots.
I was unaware that shows after Dino Thunder was still being made because I remember there was no marketing for them. Quote:
I think most of us as kids never cared about the plot in MMPR. Even as a kid, I would be like "Go back to the fighting please" during the awful school scenes. |

However the cynic part in me is afraif that Hasbro era will make me appreciate Neo-Saban era. God I hope not. My biggest concern is that Beast Morphers still has that same feel of trying to be like MMPR except having a good story and characters this time, which I fear is going to continue in future seasons. Honestly in terms of production Saban era actually got better from Turbo onwards, where you can feel like there's an increase in quality. There's still the cheesiness, that is PR's dna, but it's not as bad as MMPR. Also please just move out from NZ. Or at least use well known voice actors, I can't stand Steel's voice. |

Operation Overdrive doesnt deserve alot of the hate it gets
It deserves some but not all |
I think operation overdrive should be called relic hunters.

If Neo-Saban did something like that, the ranger would turn back to the heroes side by the end of the very episode they're introduced. |
The Green Ranger was not bad, but it should have been two episodes. Re-watching it was a chore because it felt like it went on forever.

Maybe it's just my vague memories, or living in the UK, but I remember there being a fair bit of Power Rangers promotion for the Disney era. Like, I can remember promos for SPD and OO airing fairly often, and I vividly remember seeing an advert for something unrelated, and being hyped for, the premiere of OO! RPM definitely got messed around, that was on at an awful time, but promotion definitely existed enough to target children.

Power Rangers lives or dies off of MMPR which is why most seasons try to rehash it in order to be successful. Saban, Disney, and Hasbro did it in order to bring back older casual fans to watch the show again.

Would Hasbro capable to make a original Pr show with a original footage ?
|
Eventually maybe. But then is it still power rangers? Does hasbro create everything or still import mechs and suits and film all new? I honestly dont know.

However you can counter this by making an animated Power Rangers. |

I agree- if it becomes an animated series it loses alot of the charm.
