Yup that's it. Disappointing.
At least we got NinNinComic out of it which was kind of surprising. The rest was all previously shown off prototypes though, nothing new at all. |
I'm fairly glad Grand got out. That just means more final forms down the line.
But 8580 yen is 8580 yen. A hard pill to swallow seeing as he doesn't have his two swords. Especially considering Muteki was in the same price, yet he came with his sword. |
S.H.Figuarts kamen rider saikou x-swordman was shown on the stream
|
X-swordman before Shadow?
|
Er, Grand Zi-O before Build Genius? I mean that's great and all but something just doesn't click right here.

Edit: Here's X-Swordman. His WRB seems to have been decaled too. Which is now weird since Grand isn't. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ex95R4QV...pg&name=medium |

Probably just the quality of the pic, but ye those are the details on the belt.
Kogouken Saikou however... |
I likely won't get Saikou but he sure looks gorgeous.

Skipped Dark Kiva since I haven't watched the season yet, but I did get up early for Godzilla haha. Got it on my first try even with the page being slow from all the traffic. Now I wake up at the time I usually do to see that it's still available. Ooff Slim pickings from the stream then? That's too bad. At least Grand Zi-O is finally getting released. Glad I picked up Zi-O Trinity last year so I could have the swords. Pretty sure those second hand Trinity figures are about to get snatched up now. Saikou is looking good too I guess if we want any show stopping reveals, we have to wait for Tamashii |

Hell yeah, I'll take any final forms I can get at least this 90% closes out all the in-show rider forms now we just need Tsukuyomi. To be honest with the reveal of Build's NinninComic I didn't expect them to confirm anymore Build releases after all they need to let people throw money at that first before hypothetically confirming Genius because that would take away the attention from NinNinComic...

Now I need to find the Trinity sword... |
We don't have any scheduled releases yet for October, November, and December right?

No sword, huh. Well, at least he looks nice

Guess we're both on the eagle eye for Trinity, huh? Well, that depends for me tomorrow, I haven't heard from my bro if he went and got Dark Kiva. Quote:

Final Forms are often the last release in the mainline, so... rip tsukuyomi.

https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...AvodA&usqp=CAU W-Who knows, though? Kuuga Ultimate SHFSS is here, yet Dragon, Pegasus, and Growing are here too. It's also been a while since Kiwami and Type Tridoron were released, yet we got some new Drive and Gaim SHFs. Please! Just that small sliver of hope that Tsukuyomi can still happen! |
Good to see another final form get release grand zi-o means the line is done for zi-o and we can focus on more Saber Figuarts.
Now the wait for Build Genius is on I say by tamashii nations we find out his release. At least we got nincomic from Build so that was a better reveal it has the sword and grand doesn’t lol. Disappointing that we didn’t get shadow x-swordman want that form not the tacky looking one maybe tamashii nations exclusive for shadow? Still glad to see more Saber riders figuarts. |
Is there a feedback/survey page for Tamashii like there is for the candy toys? Many So-Do figures get made because people keep asking for them. Of course the candy toy stuff might have a different lead time than a collector's item, but still

Bandai sure loves their bare-bones releases plus the price of Grand ZI-O is the same that Muteki Gamer was last year if I'm not mistaken...plus I find it more criminal that ZI-O Ohma form figuarts didn't come with the sword since it was a key thing used in the movie compared to Grand ZI-O who can and has used any rider weapon...
|
I was hoping we would see an Ichigo first appearance SS SHF.
But now that Grand Zi-O is coming, that's the last of my personal wishlist except for Buster. X-Swordsman before Buster (or any of the other tertiary Seiken riders) makes me think he's going to have an even bigger upcoming role in the show. Okay well it looks like Tokullectibles just posted Grand Zi-O and it's cheaper than going through Zenmakert! DOH! https://tokullectibles.com/products/...der-grand-zi-o |
You know, I wonder if Build Genius is taking a while because Bandai can't decide whether to make all the bottles on the suit clear plastic or not.
I imagine painted bottles would look terrible and clear plastic would be very costly. Maybe even more costly than the statues on Grand Zi-O. |
That's actually not too much of a bad price from Tokullectibles
Just noticed the grand ridewatch lol wow Bandai...just leaving blank canvases for SHF Upgrade to fill huh |

Gaim and Drive’s stuff is because the very media for Brain, Kachidoki, King Durian and Liechi was made years after the SHFs for Kiwami and Tridoron |
The only modern case of something happening after the final form (that wasn't a years later addition or SS) is Genm X-0, which may as well have been a reissue.
|
So... yeah, I really should have taken a leaf from Kiwami's book here because this was pretty disappointing. Grand Zi-O is I guess significant, but we've seen him before and at that he's at a much higher price than anticipated and he doesn't even come with his goddamn sword. Saikou as well, is like... we knew it was coming eventually, even if not this soon; and it's disappointing to see the Ridebook on his sword - the most prominent part of the character - underdetailed.
I wasn't expecting a new Seihou line reveal or anything, but I was hoping for something special for the 50th anniversary, y'know? Like original colours Ichigou, or re-issuing main riders, or something. This is a bit of a letdown. |

What's the best place to get TWEs these days? It used to be Nippon-Yasan, but I think people have had some issues with them lately. Nin Nin Comic and Tokullectibles seem to be the ones people use now, right?

Tokullectibles to support a cool US based shop.
But I do overall prefer Nin-Nin, I've not had any issues with them for pre-orders (in stock items are a pain though). |
Blades showed up in the mail today. Due to the vagaries of preoders and different sites' function, I actually received him before Saber. The figure is not great.
I already had buyer's remorse to some extent even before it showed up, since I've found the show to be a significant disappointment. This isn't the first time the long, long delay between a show's start and the main Rider's Figuarts release means I'll have no idea whether the show will be any good when I place the order. I think most of the big problems with this figure have been catalogued already. Nagare is only a little better than a dull grey, whereas the sword tip on his helmet is appropriately shiny. The WonderRide Book is beautifully-molded, the cover is painted, and there's no image on them, I guess because we bought Zi-O figures, so they thought they could get away with it? Hand-swapping has now entered a new level of annoying due to the glove backs being a separate part. I can't get over the hand covers. I'm not used to hands not being complete in a Figuarts release, but I guess that's something we have to live with, now. You get one set of hand covers that have to be swapped between hands. I guess they did it to reduce paint costs, where they'd already cut an unacceptable number of corners. I guess they're just assuming we'll turn to SHFUpgrade to buy fixes for all their cost-cutting nonsense. I'm a little mad at myself because I've already paid for Saber, Espada, and Calibur, and I'm thinking I may make them the last general-release Figuarts I purchase, at least for currently-airing series. (Build Ninja/Comic looks like a quality release.) It's clear they're cutting as many corners as possible; perhaps they're assuming we'll buy Shinkocchou Seihou versions at some point. Sodo/Shodo should not be putting out more impressive releases than Figuarts. One other quibble: Nagare does not want to stay in Blades's hand. Most Figuarts err on the side of a too-tight grip, but his sword-gripping hand is so relaxed the figure drops the sword easily. To be clear, the figure isn't complete garbage. The molding of tiny details is terrific. You can get surprising head articulation despite the collar. The WonderRide Book is removable. Since I hate how the books break up the suit designs for this series, I'm perfectly happy to display him without it. I think my dissatisfaction boils down to not getting our money's worth in terms of accessories and paint. Some of that may just be the industry: plastic production was down last year, which probably impacted the release, since it would've been more expensive to produce. Figuarts used to be the relatively high-end Kamen Rider figure for adult collectors, and Shinkocchou Seihou has eclipsed that, even if they seem unlikely to tackle recent Riders any time soon. |

Got my Dark Kiva deposit in with Tokullectibles.
Honestly outside of the TWE window being narrow considering how quick people are to place orders with them, I rely on them most for Figuarts nowadays. Already have 5 upcoming releases preordered with them so far. |
Same here. Since Dark Diva is a general release, the price on tokucollectibles is fair enough.
|
Def is a good price from Tokullectibles
