Too bad the music is the only good thing Reconquista has to offer :(
Episode 5 was a marginal improvement but not by much. The animation still feels off and less polished than Build Fighters, the characters are still empty tropes, and thus far the plot has been pretty much stock. Boy sees girl, has love at first site, helps her escape to join her peeps, then he sort of joins them and identifies with their cause. It's all rather predictable right now. |

Out of curiosity does anybody have the HGUC Ez8? I'm curious if the numbers are regular old stickers or decals.

It looks like they could be. If they are, yay. I really want to get an Ez8 soon and was slightly dreading the idea of having to do decaling.

So what exactly is a GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE? Is it literally a heavy metal Gundam figure? Because that Banshee Norn looks really sweet.

"The Gundam Fix Figuration (aka G.F.F.) series of collectible figures was started based on the Gundam mechanical designs of Hajime Katoki and his 'Gundam Fix' illustration artbook and are released by Bandai. - G.F.F. Metal Composite - a spin-off of the G.F.F. series utilizing injection-molded ABS plastic and die-cast metal." |
I still wish they had a mass released version of the Banshee Norn green frame HG

I get that in G has it's tropes as well, but what Gundam series doesn't. Look at Destiny. One of the better series out there to some and it has pretty much the same tropes. Let's be honest, in G is getting heat cause of it's art style. I'm actually enjoying the art style, the music, and the story. I'm intrigued as to why Raraiya keeps calling the G-self papa. Also Bellri hasn't joined the pirates. As a matter of fact, he's trying to escape from them, but I'm pretty sure in the new episode he does something to the effect that he can't go back because he'll be tried as a criminal. All the fights leading up to episode 6, he's only injured the suits, never the pilots. Sounds like someone else, huh? Plus, Pirates. |

We've given this what, six episodes and it seems everyone is already willing to give up on it just because Build Fighters Try is out at the same time. The story is there, the emotions are there, heck even the fight scenes are pretty cool. (I love me some beam chain) No matter what, there will always be tropes so long as that word exists. Every Gundam series has that one hero who struggles between which side is the right side, but that's what makes it a good series. Bellri wants to go back, but after episode 6 can't because of something he does. Aida can't stand talking to Bellri but has to because he can pilot the G-Self. Noredo can't stand being around the pirates because she believes them to be bad because of what the Capital Guard/Army has told them. It has a good military plot with the Capital Army controlling the energy by keeping it for themselves while the Pirate Corp is trying to show everyone what they're doing. I think it's going to be an amazing series that gets shadowed just because Build Fighters Try is out, and don't get me wrong, I love Try. The R-GyaGya is my new favorite suit by far.....at least until I see some others make their debut. lol. |
I didn't say I was ready to give up on it? Just the comparison to the base plot in Eureka Seven irked me because Reconguista hasn't got anywhere near the emotive level as E7 when it comes to the whole "boy meets girl" angle. Aida emotes yes, but Bellri is stiff as a board and Raraiya is mostly being played for laughs at the moment. The only character I absolutely love at the moment is Klim.
But yes, comparing it to Gundam Build Fighters isn't going to get anywhere because Try is practically super robot while G is Tomino real robot stuff. People expecting robots to do grand amazing things each episode are probably going to be disappointed and a lot of the episodes aren't really going to mean much until the whole thing is clear. But at the same time, Reconguista in G REALLY isn't friendly to Gundam newcomers so it's no wonder why casual fans are going to turn more toward Try. As for more why veteran Gundam fans don't like it, we'll have to ask them :p |

Bellri is stiff, but that seems to be his character. He is constantly thinking. He spaces out all the time because of it, and when he gets a plan in his head nothing stops him from doing it. I think in G will get much, much better and more liked around the double digit episodes. For a more "normal" series like in G, it takes more time. Try is more about "What will the fight be this week?" |
Yeah I agree that if Reconguista in G does improve (I'm still kinda on the fence about it myself) its going to take time. What worries me though is, aren't Gundam series usually around 35-50 episodes each? Because this one is only currently slated for 25. Of course that number could inevitably change, but if its sticking to that then it can't really waste too much time getting off the ground.

Seeing all of your guys' stuff is making me sad I has noez money to get more Gunpla (I ache for Mr. Fenice and an Ez8).
Anywhos even though I haven't finished it, MS Team I think has quickly become my favorite regular Gundam series. |
Anyone see the new Domon SHF yet?

I also recommend getting the Fenice Riniacita over the normal one becausw it comes with more stuff and I dont like my Gundams to normally look broken. |

I guess I'll add "Damaged Mobile suits" to the list of mobile suit things I don't like that everyone else seems to.

SHF Domon is a dream come true
It's what I always wanted. The face plate looks new, but the hair is old I think. I hope Bandai doesn't intend to reuse old parts on him. He really needs to be entirely new. The old figure is very dated. The body looks great though. I came believe we're also getting Rising Gundam. I hope both are a sign of more G Gundam figures to come in both lines. |

Got some action bases in from HLJ the other week and finally had time to put some together so that I could display my RGs. I do have Exia but I have not put the decals on it yet so for now it'll be in storage.

So, the U.K. might be getting Gundam blu-rays before we do.
http://www.toonzone.net/2014/11/toon...ndustry-panel/ Come on 00 on blu-ray! |
I have no shame in saying I'll get this. I already have Rinko & Aila on pre-order and I need Fumina too.

I still don't like her outfit. I've never seen anybody in anyplace wear something like that. Even on television.
