My thoughts during the first episode of Den-O:
-Trains do not work that way. -Wow this guy has shitty luck. -Wait, what was his name? Rotary-can? Slow down, subtitles. -Is that Nasca? -Oh wow he's covered in that sand they put in stress balls. -Ha he just ran over that asphault demon. -That IS Nasca! -This poor fellow, he gets bullied and beaten to the point where he's literally scared for his life, then is forced to savagely assault Nasca. -So what did he do with the coffee cup? -Den-O looks nakeder than I thought he would. -So if the visor rolls on a track on his head... how does he see? -I wonder what happened to Nasca. I think I like this better than Kabuto since, while a bit silly, it is energetic and feels like it gives a shit about telling a story instead of setting up fight scenes that aren't all that great. Rotary-can is a bit pathetic, but he's just really got bad luck and his first transformation was preceded by some pretty heavy shit. At leats he doesn't literally think he's God's gift to mankind or is the sun. I'm going to try and find the episode where Gattack shows up, since I love that suit design, and if I can't continue watching Kabuto after he appears, I'm sticking with Den-O. It's not great, but it has my attention, at least. |

While on the subject of Kiva...I forgot to mention something about episode 5. When Wataru asked Nago to train him...I immediately thought of one thing... http://gifsoup.com/view1/3027978/ixxxxaaaa-o.gif |

Back tracking a bit to calling Den-O the best mix of comedy and drama.
How do you figure that? Yes, it has some dramatic story lines, but their role in the big picture of things are nigh and they all seem to pop up with as little warning like Kai. That, and while It does establish the Airi/Yuuto relationship, it's brought down by meshing in pointless melodrama and plot twists. That, and the relationship is stupid and takes up too much time and an entire movie. |

Actually I would call it the best mix :lol In my personal opinion at least.
Also the Yuuto/Airi relationship is one of the best subplots in the series. |
My thoughts on episode 2 of Den-O:
-That red guy is a jerk. -HOLY SHIT THAT MONSTER JUST HORRIBLY MURDERED AN INNOCENT WOMAN. -That red guy is funny. -Den-O's kinda really pathetic. -I wonder how they got the dog to pee on him. -I'm not sure I understand the monsters' plans. They change the past to change the future, and travel there through memories? And they cause destruction in the present by causig in the past, which is somehow the... what? How does knocking out a building's supports in the past cause it to crumble in the present? Wouldn't that make the building crumble in the past and just fade away in the present? Time travel does not work that way! This series is fun, but I don't know if it's my thing. The time travel doesn't seem very well done, and I'm not a fan of the Den-O suit. |

it's a good series, it gets way better when the rest of the imagin come in |

On the Kabuto side of things: Have I missed an ep? Drake has shown up and I still haven't seen Gattack. I thought Gattack was the secondary rider this series? |

I'm not asking for super-realism. I'm asking for some kind of logic. Also, does everyone in Kabuto make a point of doing really dumb, dramatically slow hand gestures? |

I'm utterly astonished at how completely unlikable they made Kabuto. I thought the idea was to make us want to root for the main guy, not hate him so much we want to see him get hit by a truck. Not that it would do much since he's written like an over-powered fanfiction character. |

I personally liked Tendou's point to the sky gesture. It's his signature pose like Den-O's Ore Sanjou pose or Faiz's...Stance.
And if you want to talk overpowered fan character, look no further than Kamen Rider Decade. |

It's like trying to argue that a character who can use all the powers of the Justice League isn't OP because they're stealing powers from other characters. |

Also Back to the Future was a fucking great movie, so you can accept it's rules on time travel, a made up concept already, when it presents them with an air of logic. Not like with Den-O where, by showing the cross-section between past and present, it literally has us believe the buildings and bridges stayed standing without support for years. Even the debris from him crashing into them had dissapeared. It's simple not-being-idiotic 101: if the bulding collapsed in the past how did it collapse again in the future? Back to the Future had rules, this does not. Quote:

When it's Gen behind the wheel he makes Ryuki look OP... |
Basically almost every Kamen Rider is OP at one point?
Actually, I don't remember double ever being OP. CycloneJokerGoldXtreme was really powerful, but he wasn't immortal or had limitless power(s). |

Kiva episode 6: oh man! That huge, tough guy is Garuru! His henshin sequence is quite different from other Fangire...I wonder why that is. I'm also really glad that the kid isn't Dogga like I thought. Alright the Spider Fangire...that dude needs to be rider kicked already...he just makes me really uncomfortable. I don't know if I hate him as much as Kai...but Kai never made me feel this uncomfortable...ugh. they switched between 1986 and 2008 a lot in this episode. |

I personally feel that Climax Form Den-O isn't that overpowered since there is a limitation they hit later on in the series, but I won't spoil it. |

But yeah, once you get to Decade's movie, you'll be able to see that Double's cameo really was a deus ex machina in both terms of power (He's ridiculously strong in the movie with his basic forms compared to the actual series) and appearance. Quote:
Perhaps Kabuto... |

I do believe what Jirou is is explained not long after his monster reveal. There is a reason he doesn't transform like a Fangire. Split Lip: Gatack is the main secondary Rider of Kabuto. There's just more than those two. You should've already seen TheBee too. Gatack'll show up mid-season I believe. |

If you're just holding out for Gatack, I really wouldn't recommend skipping around. You miss out on so much of his character development that way... As you've noticed, it really doesn't seem like Tendou has much of a character. I'm in agreement with the group who finds Gatack to be the "real main character" of Kabuto. |
To be honest, I never recommend skipping around in a series. When told "It gets better at episode [Blank]", while faster to just skip to that episode, it's easy to not like the episode where things allegedly improve by virtue of the fact that you're missing character development and introductions.
