In the most recent instalment of The Absolute Conspiracy, Andro Melos said he's with the Galaxy Rescue Force cause his old Andro Defense Force got some "reliable new members" and one of them was referred to as "Andro Area"! Is this a reference to the original Andro Melos magazine and show? Also, there seems to be something between Melos and Zoffy.
|
Andro Ares is a reference to the Voice Drama's I believe, where at the exact same planet the fight this episode took place (Planet Maijii), Taiga was saved by said Andro Warrior.

I do hope we see more Mebius and Taiga interactions in the future.

Only just got around to watching episode 8 of Absolute Conspiracy, but references to the Tri-Sqaud Voice Dramas make me real happy.
It makes me less happy hearing Mebius without Mebius' voice, but I understand that had to happen eventually. It's just, you know, man would that conversation between him and Taiga carry so much more weight with Shunji Igarashi saying the lines. It's hard not to dream. |
Y'know I've made peace with the fact that will never hear or see Shunji Igarashi reprise his role. Since I love the character and can't wait to see Mebius action again. It helps that Jun Fukuyama has his voice be less deep when portraying his character compared to when he voiced Mebius in the Ginga S movie. With the guy being Mebius permenant new voice actor much like how Taro voice and grunts have changed since his series ended hopefully Mebius would get more involved and have more stories to tell.

One day, Mebius and Hikari will be the ones to get a big nostalgic throwback episode in a current series like Z did for Ace and Geed. (Hikari showing up just to dispense a new toy doesn't count!)

TokuSHOUTsu will apparently now run Return of Ultraman as the first episode is up on their YT Channel.
http://ukiyaseed.weebly.com/ukiyasee...ing-on-youtube The irony for me is that I just started that series. I grew tired of UltraSeven and found it to be a chore to finish. It felt like a product of its time. Jack's series feels like an easier take with more care for character drama. There are times when I wonder if MAT is in the right when they live up to their name and attack Kaiju, but that's just a personal perception. |
Today on Heroes Odyssey, we take a break from Z and Tiga to focus on Dyna, Gaia and Agul in their battles against Reicubas, Super C.O.V and Super Pazuzu.

Was gonna talk about this in the Z thread but it's not even Z I'm about to comment on. If you've never seen Gaia, then at least watch this special for Gaia and Agul's wonderful maneuver and their victory gesture.

Finished Ultraseven

As for your question about Seven talking to himself. That actually Seven Superior who happens to look exactly like him. It's confusing I know.

Ep. 9 of The Absolute Conspiracy is up!
Mebius fans will definitely have some fun. Grigio and Yullian have a chance to really shine in battle. Zero wielding a Z Riser! Zero has another "new" form (if you want to call it that)! Z is a young upstart who hasn't figured it all out yet. |
Zero has become even more broken than before, and all it took was combining some old tricks.
|
Really stoked at how it all ends. That said, THANK YOU KOICHI SAKAMOTO:

My minor prediction/hope is that in the climax of the last episode of Absolute Conspiracy, Zero will toss that Z-Riser over to Z who will somehow use it to turn intl Alpha Edge for the first time, who will then blow up Zett (the bad guy) alongside Tri-Stirum. Two beings using the power of three Ultras, y'know?
|
Why Yullian? What is so specific that Yullian is the make-or-break for "The Kingdom"?

RIP those four generic guys in that spaceship with 80 and Yullian

They’ll show up again when they need a crowd scene in the Land of Light.
Also worth mentioning that the team ups during the battle with the Zetton army actually do have a theme. Zero and Taiga: Both sons of legendary Ultra Brothers Joneus and Titas: Both U40 Ultras. Ribut and Fuma: Both themed after Asian martial arts practitioners (Ribut is a salat expert, while Fuma is a ninja) Grigio and Yulian: Both female supporting characters who debuted as Ultras late in their respective series 80 and Mebius: The beginning and end of 25 years of peace for the Showa-verse Earth. Melos and Z don’t team up because they have nothing in common |

Couple semi-random thoughts:
Watching the Z/Tiga retrospective has really reminded me of how good those 90s shows looked. You can see the budget in a lot of those monster suits and special effects shots. I was thinking about Absolute Conspiracy just now and how it's brought back so many different Ultras from so many obscure sources that I can't even keep track of all of them. Have we gotten Nexus, though? I can't remember if he showed up somewhere in the first section or not. Also, am I mistaken or have Leo and Astra been completely MIA here? |

I'm also a little confused about Max and Mebius. Wasn't there a time when Max was based in the Showa-Verse originally, but this was quietly ret-conned and Mebius ended up being the Showa love letter? This speculation is mildly bolstered by the fact that Max's design carries obvious Showa connotations while the Mebius design is so unlike the Ultra Brothers. |
No Nexus and yeah the Leo Brothers aren't in this either.

Yeah, Ultraman Max is very much set in its own universe. It was deliberately a throwback to classic Showa-style Ultraman after Nexus was cancelled. Max was also the first show to bring back several iconic Showa kaiju which hadn't been seen in a long time, but outside of the aforementioned sequel episodes, it is in its own continuity. However, his guest appearance in Ultraman X established him as an Ultraman that can jump universes as well.

Apparently Tsuburaya was hemorrhaging money during the making of Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia. More loss than gains it seems.
|
I've had two years or so to mull on my feelings on the matter, but Tregear kinda sucks.

The first teaser for the up-coming live action movie has been dropped.

I will watch it, I have high hopes that it will be good, but I cannot help but think how much money they spent animating these monsters only for them to turn out way worse looking than the real suits.
Like, Ultraman Z had freakin’ gorgeous suits, miniatures and effect work. Why can’t they just further enhance that with a bigger budget? Instead it’s CGI that looks serviceable now and godawful in a decade. |
Can't help but go back to this

So, we have this leaked pic of Ultimate Life Form, Absolutian, Absolute Tartarus along with some other people.
I'm thinking the blue is actually Tregear and the big horny one on the top is Belial. Not sure who the lady is, though. |

It actually reminds me of Tiga's past life when he was a villain and had three partners, one female and two male.
|
I thought of Tiga's old arsehole friends as well. Does this tie into the rumours that Ultraman Trigger is related to/is a sequel to Tiga? Hmmm.
|
Re-watching Ultraman Saga reminds me of just how talented, underrated and amazing Akimoto Sayaka was in her time in AKB.
