How come the AC figures of Sigurd & Marika are not retail? Are they not popular enough with kids? I mean Duke is getting a retail AC figure.

I'd venture a guess in that they didn't expect the line to be so popular, so when they found out it was, they decided to release figures as exclusives as they couldn't find a quarter to fit them into a retail release

Not quite. AC Duke has Duke's symbol on the Lemon arms, while Baron has the Baron symbol on it when he's using it. Show-accurate Baron LE arms isn't going to happen without paint.

No one's really explained to me the difference between gashapon and candy toy, but I know it's probably not DX:

That's the Gashapon. Here's a pic that can explain which is which (note that the most recent Gashapon's hinge appearance now matches the Candy Toy's hinges)

Note that in the belt, for Gashapon's and Candy Toys, you have to keep "slicing" to get the sounds out, as they go in a cycle. Also, neither contain LEDs unless they are the special Rider Lock Seeds. Gashapon's announce the Rider and the Arms they have after you do the Finishing move slash, while Candy Toy says a phrase. For DX, there is a switch to turn it on and off at the bottom, the sounds are locked in so that when you put it in the belt, 1 = squash, 2 -

Alright, so it looks like the CT version has a brighter plastic. Good to keep in mind. Honestly I'm not too concerned with the belt right now, I just think it'd be neat to stand the SHF/AC figures next to their Arms' respective lock.

I'm just going to assume it's a steal for Blood Orange, but what do you think about the price for Banana?

Problem is that if you wanna install an LED in the Candy Toy version, the plastic is Opaque.

I'm gonna guess the Blood Orange is a Gashapon too, after taking a look through the seller's items.

At some point in the future I may try to grab one of the DX Driver sets off of CS Toys, but right now it's not a huge priority.

Well, I'd say just wait for the Driver if you don't mind waiting for Banana. Blood Orange, you can go for. Especially since trying to get the DX for anything less than $50 is pretty much impossible now.

Hey everyone: AC05 Zangetsu on Mandarake for only 3000 yen.

The blood orange sound version is a lot of fun and totally worth getting for its cheap price.

Jungle has two DJ Guns up for ¥2,916 each. I was very, very tempted, but I still have pre-orders to cover for the month.

So I decided to check out Arms change with Shin Zangetsu and now I also own the first armor pack, Baron and Gaim with the mango and kiwi armors on their way. Dear god the arms change figures are a blast to play with. They feel like a solid representation of the show characters and have more articulation than what I was expecting from a non figuarts line.

I haven't had such a fun toy in ages. Just the Arms themselves are a blast to play around with. Case in point:

They remind me of the old Ronin Warriors figures in a manner, except the articulation doesn't completely suck. I'm really hoping my AC Duke preorder goes through, and then grab Baron and the Arms packs.

Haha good example I'll have to try that out with my figuarts. I'm just sad I missed out on the Bravo preorder and its looking like I'll miss out on Siguard and Marikia too. Hope they won't be impossible to get when they come out.

Just a heads up to UKers that Amazon have pretty much all of the Arms Change figures on there in the marketplace, with a whole pile of other Gaim merch, and although not "cheap" with some of the insane scalping going on on Mandrake lately, the prices seem pretty reasonable.

Most of the Arms Change figures listed recently on Mandarake have been pretty close to retail. I think the infusion of re-releases have driven the prices down. Baron, Gaim, Ryugen, Shin Zangetsu, and Kachidoki have all been running about ¥3,000. Granted an old Melon Arms is still sitting at a horribly inflated ¥8,000. But, in general, the line has gotten more affordable of late most places.

Oh my B then. I was pretty heavily into the AC game at the start, but when ACs started going for 8000 yen on Mandrake I bowed out. It stops becoming fun when shit like that starts. Didn't realise that bubble had popped so soon.

I definitely get where you're coming from. I stopped when the prices hit those insane levels, too. Despite the price drops, I haven't been able to remuster my enthusiasm. I'm just waiting for the SHFs at this point.

Triumphant is a decent figure, but unlike at the start, I've been quite happy to skip releases. I don't own a single Energy Rider or the vehicle Rider twin packs and unlike at the start, I don't feel the desperate need to go out and grab them.

I had a pretty good run at getting the first four cheap via Mandarake/Amazon UK but I'm glad I bowed out when I did. However after seeing the Gaim/Wizard movie I'm finding myself wanting Bujin Gaim to go with them.

When's he due out again? (Although I'm kinda dreading the prices he'll go for on the aftermarket)

He's supposed to release sometime this month, but I'm not sure exactly when. It can't be too much longer though since it's already the 18th.

I really enjoy the Arms Change line, but I stopped with them once they started becoming exclusives. I do have Bravo preordered, but he's the last one I plan to get. I like the Energy Riders well enough, but I'll just wait for the Figuarts since the Arms Change Energy Riders are already going for Figuarts level prices as it is.

I am seriously considering grabbing the Sengoku Driver from Amazon. I also spotted Knuckle's Lockseed, I may grab that too.

Lockseeds are just the best gimmick, they work really well by themselves, hell I bought them alone for the unlocking mechanism because it's just so satisfying!
