I heard there's an argument if why Toei should help since it's not their product, in which I would like to counter is that they should, because PR's success helps Toei. And sadly this is why Sentai is kinda struggling. Because Power Rangers is being perceived as a joke, Sentai is kinda less popular because of it even though it doesn't make sense.

Honestly Power Rangers just needs to be amazing that it draws the general audiences to it. If Captain America was meh but come The Winter Soldier he's now the most badass superhero ever, surely Power Rangers can do the same.

That is why I am cynical and worried towards Beast Morphers, because while they have a lot of effort, they also have that cheesy factor that makes the franchise a joke. I'm not saying we should remove the cheesiness, because that is the PR's dna, but rather evolve that cheesiness.

For example, look at Kamen Rider, the belts' jingles are so ridiculous that people love it. Power Rangers needs to make a sort of cheesiness that people woukd love, not embarssed at it. Like how Fast & Furious knows how stupid their franchise it but embrace it. Though there are people who hate F&F for the same reasons.

My original idea is that Sentai/PR should be more like the action-adventure movies and tv shows from Hollywood. I heard that Fast and furious are popular in Japan.

That's because TMNT did started off as a dark and edgy comics for adults while Power Rangers is based on a fun and silly live action show for Japanese kids.

But I'd argue that the franchise got its boom with the 80s show which is light hearted.

I know it will be a reboot but, i hope they don't follow the same concept from 2017 version.

I think Power Rangers needs to try appeal to a general audience than just kids if they want it to be more popular and view less of a joke. Most Marvel and DC superheroes were created for kids, but they appeal to everyone than just kids. Not to mention, they have more going for them. Meanwhile, PR is still being aim just only for kids which is why most of the non fans outside of MMPR nostalgia don't care to watch the newer shows.

You're not wrong! Even juvenile cartoons are more enjoyable... like Transformers Cyberverse (which slightly surprises me)!

I have heard rumors that an animated series is in the works, and leaving that on Nickelodeon is fine (unless Cartoon Network is more receptive).

The live-action material should change direction and station and maybe there should be more than one live-action series running at one time! One new team and one nostalgia show which run concurrently.

A kids show doesn't have to be a melange of cheap gags and simplistic plotlines. Hasbro has commissioned good shows before (Transformers Prime comes to mind). They can find a way to make their new property equally good if they put some serious thought into the process.

This. Nothing wrong with being a kids show. Hell look at Boom comics and even general comic readers know that Power Rangers can be good to general audience. Yes, the movie was meant to have that role of appealing to general audience, but they did it wrong, with trying to be MCU instead of embracing Power Rangers and make them work for general audience (which ironically is what makes MCU successful).

And I don't know, maybe I just got ultra cynical, but people loved Beast Morphers while I'm like 'meh' towards it, though I admit there's some good stuff from that season.

It's mostly because there's improvement after Neo-Saban set the bar so low, really. If we're to judge it as an individual show, then... it's not a trainwreck, but it's far from what I'd be comfortable calling good or great.

This is the other danger when something falls to the utter pits. It lowers your standards a ton, so that the moment something that's even a slight improvement comes along; you'll shower it with praise as the next messiah because it wasn't the worst thing ever.

Exactly like Dino Charge. People praised the shit out of it because Megaforce dropped the bar so low, when in reality even Dino Charge by itself is just an okay season. Though I admit I enjoyed Dino Charge more than Beast Morphers.

We should all be really careful. Beast Morphers season 2 could very well be like Dino Supercharge, where the first season is a step up, and then immediately fall down hard.

Saban needs to stay away from the franchise period. I cringed that the franchise still retains 'Saban' s Power Rangers', like he's Marvel or something. Greedy bastard.

Given what you have said here, Levy is at fault, not Saban! Their long-time partnership and Levy's involvement during the OG Saban Era makes this concerning, but Haim is another person entirely as I see it right now.

I wish Levy could had work with PR again but after hear that, is never gonna happen.

Wild Force episode "Forever Red" decided (for the sake of having 10 Reds) that he was. Similar questions could be said of Lauren from Super Samurai.

He is red or a shade of red, and even though he never led the Time Force Rangers, he did command the Silver Guardians in Time Force.

Not sure if this detail counts, but in Gaoranger VS. Super Sentai (not Power Rangers), V-Rex (Time Force Q-Rex) was used as a "Red-centric" Mecha, which makes some sense as V-Rex became Timeranger Red's Mecha in the Timeranger finale!
