I keep forgetting Cyborg 009 was made by Ishinomori. For some reason, I constantly associate it with Go Nagai (And it's not because of Devilman vs Cyborg 009. I've been making this particular mistake ever since Cyborg 009 first aired on Toonami :lol)

Does anybody know how well the Shout! Sentai releases are selling? Zyuranger has 138 reviews on Amazon, Dairanger has 37, and Kakuranger has 7. I'm kind of worried that that means the sales aren't nearly as strong and we won't get more releases..

Well, in Kakuranger's defense, it's not even out yet.
Concerning sales, I'm unsure. I don't know how many DVDs need to be sold for Shout! to see it as a success (Or at least successful enough to bring the next season over).
With Kakuranger being the last series to make up part of MMPR, I don't know if we'll see anything past, but I like to remain optimistic~

What is your theory of Bird Man's hatred toward Zyuland

On this week's Zyuohger episode, Bird Man refuses to give the Sixth Champion Symbol to Zyuohgers and call Zyuland "A Rotten Place"

But what cause him to hated the land he was from?

My theory is Zyuland did something to him that drove him hated them

Bird Man will have a reason to hate them than Kaixa who hate Orphnech because he just hate them

I hope we get more Sentai shows on DVD. I just remember when Shout! release the G1 Transformers shows, everyone was expecting the Japanese Beast Wars shows and the Japanese uncut release of Car Robots. However we never did after Transformers: Victory. I hope that does not happen with Sentai. I do plan on Kakuranger with my birthday money.

Consider the stuff Shout! puts out is generally aimed at a pretty niche audience to begin with, its probably quite hard to determine what would define a "success" with those sets.

I think Zyuland, or at least some rogue Zyumans, tried to destroy Earth at one point, which is why Kaixa turned on them and gave Yamato both a cube as well as his Zyuman powers.

I mean this one got a very serious moment, a good comedy (NOT IN YOUR FACE-TYPE COMEDY or having Old Man doing a weird face that is trying to be funny but it's not FUNNY!), The Teammate get to show off themselves more than Red Ranger and lastly, Red Ranger is not very annoying after all! Yay!

I think the reason of why people initially thought this show will suck because the gimmick. A mine-Craft gimmick and their Zord is not gorgeous-looking design

But hey, Kamen Rider Gaim got a pretty criticism about a Kamen Rider being a fruit guy! Who thought the show about a Fruit Gimmick would be so popular?

Well, judging a book by it's cover is exactly what you got with with Ninninger. The designs, weapons, and minor blurbs all pointed to it being a wacky fun series (Keep in mind that people were actually REALLY hyped up for the silly zany series). They got exactly what they were told.
Shockingly, people got sick of the zany stupidity after 2 episodes.

Since everyone got what they were expecting with Ninninger, they thought they'd get what they anticipated with Zyuoh.

Concerning people's judgment on Zyuohger, it's not like anyone is wrong. Mario is cringe worthy in the first 3 episodes, Lio is pretty loud, their designs are still super basic, and ZyuohKing is still godawful (It's not even until the reveal of the unreleased Rhinos that made me consider buying one). It holds up rather well in my (And some other's) eyes, but it's not like the early detractors don't have unfounded problems.

Which Sentai that made you stop watching it?

For me, It's Ninninger because I can't stand at Red Ranger being annoying way too much and I felt Ninninger got a great potential but end up as a disappointment show. I think Kento Shimoyama wasn't ready to take as a head-writer of the show. I think Naomi Takebe is not a great Sentai producer because her first show, Go-Busters was too boring and little kids doesn't care for Spy Sentai show.

This Show almost made me a former Sentai Fan but fortunately Zyuohger brought my love for Sentai back again. :)

Ninninger made me stop watching for a while too because of how the sentai gave me no reason to care about anything. Against my better judgment, I decided to watch the entire thing. And Boy, did i regret. It turns out that my reasons for dropping it early still applied to the end. But ninninger is an impressive feat of a sentai in the case that literally NOTHING happens in the sentai. Im not even kidding when I say that 85% of the sentai is filler, and that you only need to watch about 6-7 episodes to get the full story. Its a sentai that has a story, but no plot

We are probably not going to get something big for Super Sentai this year. We had the crossover episode in Ninninger which celebrates the 40th anniversary of Super Sentai (It air around the 40th anniversary of Goranger) last year. If we get a Sentai project, it will probably be another smaller crossover. Another big scale crossover like Gokaiger probably won't happen again for a while.

I'd be happy with just another Vs. Super Sentai movie.

Its such a disappointment that the 40th anniversary aspect of sentai was wasted on a sentai that literally did nothing to take advantage of it. They got Hurricane Red and Ninja Red to come back, alongside Akaranger......and.....? They did nothing with it and as a result, it felt wasted. I didnt really cheer or feel happy about the franchise because there was no context to have them there (just because ninja and hurricane red are ninjas doesnt automatically give them full context. They needed to build up to it). also with the magi yellow cameo with aoninger's magic schtick, that meant nothing because yakumos magic thing had so little depth that it was pointless. They shouldve saved the anniversary stuff for zyuohger because then, they would be able to have homages to previous animal or animal-like sentai in the past and build that up to have a real, interesting anniversary special. My 2 cents though

For me it's ToQger and Ninninger. I found both shows to be dull and I didn't like the characters in them that much. Same what happen for me with Kamen Rider Drive and Ghost.

ToQger for me. It was just too silly and dumb for me to desire watching it.

Maskman. I'm going to come back to it in a few weeks but it's boring, nothing happens and it just isn't interesting at all.

I got fed up with Kyoryuger around ten episodes in, got bored of ToQGer around the halfway mark, and dropped Ninninger like a hot potato after the episode with Sasuke and the dude from Hurricanger. I also never finished the Let's Watch Wednesday of Magiranger because it was fucking terrible de gozarimasu desu.

I'm liking Zyuohger a lot so far, but I have no idea if I'll make it all the way through. I'm not a huge Sentai fan, so I have a much lower tolerance level for it than I do with Kamen Rider.

I wish I made the call to drop Kyoryu 10 episodes in. For some reason I stuck it out, and that turned my tolerance for OP red rangers down a couple notches.

The Ninninger episode with Sasuke was one of 3 Ninninger episodes I actually watched (I almost watched the one with Jiraiya until I learned it wasn't Ninja Black).

If you were a head-writer of the show and Toei give you a character description of 5 Sentai Heroes. What do you make the character less generic and more unique?

Focus will always be spotlighted on the red ranger, even if his story isn't that important (See Ryuuranger). It's just a fact of life. It's nice when they give fair share, but it's just how it goes.

Kyoryuger did work. It was popular, energizing, and excited. I hated it, for focusing so much on Daigo that his nickname of King was too on the nose, but that doesn't change it's success.

Western fans opinions don't matter. At all. Toei thinks Gekiranger was the Toku equivalent of the Hindenburg despite it being an explosive hit in the West. I don't know how well ToQ did in Japan, though.

Ninninger didn't work because they basically distilled Sentai into a formula and went from there, rather than do anything interesting.

Zyuohger isn't anything different. We see a red focus already (Though not as overwhelming as Kyoryu), common Sentai staples, and basic characters (They can grow, don't get me wrong, and I do like them. But they're not anything special as of now (That being 11 episodes in)). You could even call Zyuoh as disappointing because it's playing everything safe. There's also no collectables which means toy sales might not skyrocket, which could spell out "Failure" in Toei/Bandai's eyes.

But I still watch Zyuohger because they got the best red ranger and he doesn't annoy me like the last 3 did
