Hmm...I guess when you put it like that, having a split release makes more sense. Ryuusei'oh would definitely be at least two boxes, the lion would likely be two boxes, and the other parts would be a box each.

The elbows are what I worry about. It looks like the shoulder pauldrons would block a bit of their articulation.

Houoh forming a set of waist skirts would mean that the wings would have to have some very curious hinge placements to ensure the legs aren't hindered, either, though.

Mmmm, I totally overlooked that. The "obvious" answer is to have a hinge along the line where the "feathers" connect. Or, they could have each [-shaped side of the skirt be separate and connect right above the leg via some type of ball joint (did that explanation make sense?) but I'm not sure how that would look...

I feel like that'd be easy for SMP. The joint setups they come up with for skirt armour and stuff is pretty intricate sometimes. I really don't think it'd be an issue.

I guess, lacking SMP's that feature skirt armor, I don't have a good perspective on how it'd be set up. I would like to see how it'd be done, though.

Yeah Bandai has done some impressive stuff to get posability into these minipla kits. I'm confident Dairen Oh will be no different.

Even Muteki/Shogun had impressive articulation when they really could've gone with less.

Theoretically speaking, I can see them maybe having the pauldrons slide up a bit to allow for elbow articulation in the Megazord arms (Red Dragon arms would handle shoulder rotation just like the original toy). As for the skirt armor, possibly having the Phoenix Zord break apart, connecting each wingpiece to the sides of the waist might do the job? Either way, it's likely going to be much more partsformer-y than the original if they want to add any decent articulation, especially in the lower body. I can definitely also see them breaking off the upper leg armor and connecting that separately to allow for functional knees.

I just finished assembling GaoHunter and immediately got the Ligator Blade hilt stuck inside the tail. I wish Bandai made it easier to remove with something like a PC part but alas. Is there any good method to remove it? The hilt is easily the most fragile part of the kit and I wouldn't want to break it at all.

Sorry for it being a bit dusty. I was so excited to take a picture that I forgot to finish cleaning off the dust from sanding.

Anyways, I've been wanting this kit for a while and finally found it for a super reasonable price. The only caveats are that a few of the sprues were attached in hard-to-sand places, and the transformation has a bit more partsforming than I would like. Still, I'm really happy with it.

I'm a big fan of Ideon. The kit looks great! Great job!

Thanks! I love the design. My only complaint is that a few of the nubs were put in hard-to-sand places. There's two white marks on the back that I can't get rid of :\ Other than that, it's great.

It's great Shout Factory picked up Aba. At Mystic Force - RPM you lose a lot of the story proper. I'm a story guy when it comes to Ranger shows. A lot of important details get lost in a Saban I , Jetix , Saban II and Hasbro era adaption. I want to see the full story start to finish. This is a big part of why I bailed on Power Rangers.

For non Toku SMP, how is the SMP Draias? It's a design that I always thought looked cool, so I'm curious about how that one is.

This is a long shot, but BBTS has a listing for preorder that says it is sold out. In my experience sometimes the sold out preorders end up coming back in stock when BBTS gets the items in and is ready to ship them out.

It has to be the onitaijin minipla because there is a listing for each individual zord including Oni Sister.

If you order from them, try using paypal. When I first ordered from them I tried to pay with my credit card and my credit card company instantly rejected it. Happened to me one other time when I tried to buy $50 worth of casino chips at a casino in California. My credit card company does not want me to have fun, I guess.

Sahra is their online location, so anything you see there you can know for sure they have the item in stock and you will be able to see shipping cost when you check out. All the other store locations you will have to put in the order and wait for them to send you an invoice if they were able to find the product. As far as I can tell, you can?t combine orders from different locations. So try to get what you want from the same store if you want multiple things. For shipping I always use DHL and it is surprisingly quick.

Hope this wasn?t redundant information. I think mandarake is pretty great.

Ok. Tokullectibles has the same SP02 listing as BBTS with the november release date, but they say it is for possibly Don Dragoku?s mech. Or at least it is not Onitaijin.

The nice thing about BBTS is that you can cancel pre-orders very easily. Because you don't pay anything until the item comes in stock, definitely hold onto the pre-order until it's more clear what it is.

But yeah, they tend to get things a lot later than other retailers, especially toys from Japan.

The Don Brothers minipla line started with Don Momotaro Alter as the 01 release. Onitaijin was 02 and Dragoku is 03.

Which makes me think SP02 is a special coating version of Onitaijin. We've seen SP used to indicate a special version of already released minipla sets like Glister Injection version Kiramaiger or the Metallic version of the Zenkaiger robots in the past.

Thanks for this info. Maybe it will be an Onitaijin where you don?t have to put on as many stickers onto Onisister Robotaro, lol. I have the minipla Onitaijin and I just know I am not ready to make that thing yet. I could never be a surgeon with how shaky my hands are when trying to apply a sticker to a piece of unpainted plastic.

I hope we get minipla versions of Zyuohger Alter, Ryusoulger Alter, Ninninger Alter, Don Murasame Alter, Omikoshi Phoenix, and Black Onitaijin Murasame.

Just got my hands on the gaoicarus and giant lion sets and as always, amazing. The wingspan is something that shocked me even as I was building it, and the lion is just so dense and heavy for a kit like this. I had to really shave down the hinges on falcons wings though, they were stupid tight and the figure nearly broke, so that wasn't ideal but its fine now. For now at least. Can't wait for gaogod to come in and round off the cast.
