They are chocolate bars that are filled with milkcreme and different sorts of wheat. And yes they are really damn tasty.

Samurai Flamenco 03.
Minus some horrible animation, this episode was a lot of fun. I'm really, really enjoying this show. It's firstly a show for tokusatsu fans, using a good knowledge of the tropes to make really hilarious jokes I think only we'd get but I also love that whenever this show seems to be treading familiar ground, it takes it in a completely different direction. I know such a drama, dialogue heavy show won't be for everyone but I find it really refreshing. I laughed so hard at 'Money Rangers', how on the nose can you get?! Also, now I really want to watch Red Axe - he cut Japan in half! Haha. |
To be fair, I never expected meh. I usually have medium to high expectations for an anime and with Clannad I had high expectations. but with the "what i got" that's how you will feel.

So I went ahead and watched the fourth Strike The Blood episode anyway.
The animation hasn't gotten any better but so many crazy ideas were thrown around this episode that it was still really enjoyable and it looks like it's only going to get more interesting as we go. Plus the action is still a lot of fun, especially now Kojou has found his inner horny badass. |
Ippo 16.
Man I really love this show, and these characters, it's just so much fun. This is just such a fantastic anime in general, I was worried while rewatching this that it would have either aged horribly or that my tastes would have moved beyond this, instead I'm just reminded why I loved this show so much when I first got into anime. Although it was cool to see Miyata fight again, he is actually pretty boring to watch, as he's so skilled he just chumps every opponent. Then again, Ippo's next opponent is deliberately boring, with a surprisingly clever fighting style for an underdog. Hayami looked so much like Oda, I got really excited for his return, shame it was just some show off asshole - although Hayami's Shotgun was pretty fucking awesome, even if it was ridiculous. |
Ippo 17.
Ippo goes to the beach! And also begins work on his footwork, he may be a decent dasher, but only in straight lines and that just isn't good enough in the pro ring. It was amazing to see how far he'd come by the end of this episode, I just love the pace of this show. I also like that Aoki and Kimura may not be as big a joke as they've been set up to be, I hope we actually get to see them box at some point. |
Rewatching Pokemon Advanced for nostalgia.

Ippo 18.
Ippo's new opponent is just so boring, and although the show tried to do its usual 'feel more for the opponent than Ippo himself' game, his character was so weak it only turned me off him and made me root for Ippo even more. Ippo has grown a LOT in these 18 episodes and has become a genuine, skilled and exciting fighter, I love watching him box and if this was real, he'd be the kind of fighter I'd support. The match itself on the other hand was...surprisingly intense. Although Clinching is annoying, there was always a sense that you were never quite sure what Kobashi would try so it gave the illusion that Ippo might lose. |

Apparently I'm missing out on perfection here and I was told Fuko holds little relevance after her story arc is over... |

So my plans for RIN have been put on hold for the time being so I'll be watching Negima! for awhile.

Right.. As I don't feel like tackling another rider/Sentai show just yet (I'm waiting in a wizard batch so in and get that finished...) what Anime would you guys recommend?
It's something I've never really payed attention to, beyond stuff that's been dubbed (the usual DBZ,Pokemon,Digimon,Yugioh, bit of full metal alchemist) and I'd hardly say that they count. Oh and tiger and bunny, loved that! But yeah that's as deep as my rabbit hole goes. So what should I watch? I see Madoka and Clannad popping up a lot around here. Should I go for one of these, and if so which first? Or should I go for something else entirely? Pitch away folks =] |

Another thing I'd personally recommend would be trying out some shows that are currently airing, you can find lists of what shows are airing online, so picking out a few that look interesting and giving them a try is a good way to start. |
If you want a currently airing recommendation, Samurai Flamenco! I think that is the best anime of this season by far.
Ippo 19. I dunno how to feel about this match, on the one hand it was ridiculously intense and Ippo basically lost but as for story reasons, Ippo couldn't lose. So the way he got back the victory was...pretty weak. I mean they'd planted the seeds for this 'twist' but it still wasn't that well realised, really. I'm really excited to see Takamura's match next episode though! |
Madoka, Gurren Lagann and Eureka Seven are all solid choices. I'm gonna throw Steins;Gate into the mix as well though.
As for currently airing shows, you can't go wrong with either Kill la Kill or Samurai Flamenco. |
Sweet, cheers guys. I guess I'll go Madoka first then =]

Ippo 20.
It may have been short, but Takamura's match sure was sweet, he's on a totally different level to Ippo. I can't wait to see Aoki's match as well! But of all of Ippo's victories, Kobashi is going to become a regular character? Damn... Still, at least his next opponent at least hints at a more exciting match than this one turned out to be. |
So I just watched the first episode of Kill La Kill....the fuck did I just watch?

Does anyone remember the name of the horror (I guess) anime that Adult Swim, or maybe Toonami Midnight Run, played one year for Halloween? I remember it was about a group of kids going to a neighboring town and one was missing his sister. And they had to escape the Takers. Liver-Taker, Heart-Taker, and on and on?
