I'd definitely be careful with it. Depending on the type of plastic they use for the advertised "soft plastic" parts, leaving him in a dynamic pose for too long might lead to cracks or creasing, which is also why I never support figures that use rubber torsos, which is another trend that's been slowly on the rise lately.

Which is frustrating considering that's the exact reason I bought it for.

The chest doesn't seem like something that would have this issue since it'd onlCin an ab crunch, bending that soft plastic, nothing good could come out of it. Crotch could also suffer with this, but assuming it's the same material Figma uses for their soft crotches as well, there might not be a problem.

Other than that, possible discoloration on the entire torso cuz of different material is possible. Not gonna cancel my pre-order, but these possibilities sure do make me feel down a bit.

Here's the thing though, in that very promo pic they have a guy holding the arms in place. What this tells me is that yes, you can force the arms to go forward more, but that soft plastic is just gonna springs those arms back. Makes me wonder why they didn't just go for a bigger range butterfly joint like they have some some of their Dragon Ball figures. Like, yeah it'd lead to gaps if you pushed it too far, but the range would still be there for people who like their figures arms to go way out.

Handle your figure with care, especially at delicate areas like stretching soft goods.

And don’t freak out about one picture of a broken toy. They all break, at every single part. A widespread issue is something else, and even then it is a warning for you to know what to look out for, not a guarantee that you will face the same issue.

As much as I want SS Black and as low as the QC issue reports on him are atm, I think I'm fine with my 2.0 Black for a bit longer if I can't find him for sale right now.

Soft plastic is typically fine in my experience, long as you let it dry off naturally.

Cloth goods though? Yeah never soak those.

Out of curiosity how exactly do you clean cloth goods? With a brush or something? And what if something accidentally stains those things? That must be a nightmare for collectors.

I don't have any high end figures with soft goods, only smaller 3 and 6 inch stuff with cloaks and capes. I would just use powder soap and scrub very gently, either with an old tooth brush or with the actual piece itself. After rinsing I'd just let it sit, I wouldn't try to squeeze it dry or anything like that

SHF Upgrade at one point sold a kit that came with one. Not sure if they still are though.

I gotta admit... X-Swordsman is a design that's slowly been growing on me. At first it was a suit I was just alright with but now it might just be top 3 saber suits; an impressive achievement in a series that also has Calibur, Dragon Alangina and Dragonic Knight! Will probably have to pick up his SO-DO at this rate

It won't top Saikou Shadow for sure, but I'm buying it on the pure basis because:

1. It'll stand out in my shelf with how ridiculous it looks (which is a sea of normal-looking riders and mostly anime girls in badass armor lol)

2. It's Saikou.

3. It's his most prominent form now, had an awesome debut, and while not the most interesting character development, definitely was meaningful to the character.

4. It's Saikou.

My only wish is that it came with his Vol.1 WRB for the sword, but I'll live. I'll probably just get Shadow too, depends, or find a way to get the gashapon one.

I definitely want to get X Swordsman because I want to support Saber products that I can and want to afford.

That's never really a problem for SHF beyond super obscure/minor suits. Just isn't really a priority I think

Oh they will do it eventually, I just mean they're prioritising the other guys first. They've straight up said they'll be showing them at the upcoming event

Considering we're still in the mist of releasing characters and forms from Zero-One I wouldn't expect to see any of those guys from SOL released until next year. With Covid and 50th anniversary celebration going on this year there's so many releases of any and everything being thrown around that the main line is taking a back seat

Ah those are some fair points...and I will have to wait for my SHF Buster later down the road...just like waiting for the SHF Tsukuyomi, it will happen at some point darn it though I won’t be surprised if Geiz Majesty is released before her :p

I would be surprised if any more Zi-O SHFs happen at this point honestly, these days they save the final form for the last release of a given series

The upcoming event is Tamashii Features 2021 at the end of the month; basically a smaller Tamashii Nations and is promised to mostly feature Rider and Ultra SHFs for their anniversaries. They've given hints that they're showing all the Saber riders, original colours Rider 1 and a new Seihou amongst other things

Well, I mean. I'll assume all the main in-show guys up to this point and not special ones like Falchion and Solomon. They've said they're gathering all the northern base swordsmen so Buster, Slash and Kenzan for sure which is what matters in this context

Agreed that if any Saber figures are to be shown off at this event then Buster, Slash and Kenzan will be shown off for sure though I do hope that we’ll get to see King Lion Daisenki and/or Jaou Dragon.

A new Seihou figure huh...if I had to pick which Rider I want for a Seihou release I would want Kamen Rider Faiz but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was either an OOOs form or a Den-O form.

The text hinting at it was coloured green and silver/white, so a lot of people are guessing V3 or Shadow Moon. There should be Seihous of other series there but this was talking in terms of like... a BIG new one rather than just another form or rider from an already-existing seihou series

The blog doesn’t specifically call out this SS announcement being a Rider, and after that surprise SS Tiga I think all bets are off. Could you imagine an SS Metal Hero or even Sentai ??
