I said this at the beginning of Saber: At least the aftermarket for KR Saber will be cheaper like Ghost, based on the posts from around the web/social media. It is not that popular in Japan, just like Ghost. I will be surprised if they make every main figure in this Rider-heavy series, unlike Zero-One, which was better received in Japan...I still want my Tsukoyomi goddamnit
|
The focus outside of the 50th anniversary related stuff this year seems to be more about Zero-One than Saber and I honestly don't see Saber getting much annoucements this year...do I see the Zero-One figuarts line being done this year too, not really but man are they going hard on the many characters....personally I think some of this stuff was meant for release last year...there's been a lot of announcements lol

NinninComic is an utter anomaly of a release, as well as technically being a different character. Genm X-0 was just a reissue with a different belt and weapon. SS figures typically play by their own rules.
Could we see Shadow? Sure. But with Saber's popularity being not so hot, and us already getting X-Swordman and his other "form" in a set makes it's odds not great. |

Esu/Hideaki Ito has a message.
Excuse my loose translation. As a toy-collecting geek, I was very excited and pleased to hear that the character I played, Kamen Rider Eden, is being made into a figure. I was able to become the Kamen Rider that has been my hero since I was a child, and I thought that my dream had come true, but now that it has been made into a figure, I am even more delighted. I was able to see the seriousness of the person who designed the figure. And just thinking about the fans and children playing with these figures makes my heart beat faster. Please love Kamen Rider Eden for many years to come! Hideaki Ito as S/Kamen Rider Eden Please, LOVE Eden for a long time! |

That's awesome, I can't imagine how cool it would feel to have a figure based off a character you played
|
I really like how Eden came out. The prototype was a bit lacking paint-wise but they overhauled it thankfully. Like, even though the lighting isn’t the same, I'm pretty sure the color of the undersuit is different and the shoulders are definitely a proper glossy black now as opposed to the matte dark gray they were before.
https://i.imgur.com/GuPuSwr.png I'm happy with the accessories as well. Yes, in Tamashii’s golden accessory days we would’ve gotten some really cool blood effect pieces, but I'm satisfied with what we got: A designated Thousand Jacker with the time display and the Hellrising Key. Quote:

Er, is it just me or is Figuarts Eden's hips a bit too wide/far apart?

At least I think this is that one? Admittedly don't keep up with Ultraman, so... Regardless something's not right with the abdomen. |

I seriously hope this is an issue on the prototype only, broken parts and paint chipping is nothing new on early display pieces.
In retrospect, I am not surprised though; new technology has always been a bit of a bumpy ride in this line. First cloth capes? My Omegamon had a pink cape instead of a white one, and you needed clear plastic arms to articulate it. Swivels inside the elbow joint? "Ankh, my arms hurt". But once they get the hang of it - we're in for something great. Just look at the capes they're doing today, multiple stitched layers, posing wires - and their new elbows aren’t as prone to breaking anymore either. It takes time, and as much as I hate being the guinea pig it cannot be avoided unless you’re willing to pass and wait. I wasn’t. Quote:

Not having the SS Black figure in hand yet, I feel the tears come from overextending the shoulder joints. Just having the arms down stationary shouldn’t be an issue
|
The tearing is what's worrying me about SS Black. Since I love to take dynamic shots of figures when I get them, I'd want to put him in really fluid and action-y poses. But I'd also be worried about over-extending the limits of the rubber overlays and causing fractures.
It's one reason why I think I'm alright keeping 2.0 Black for the time being. Even side-by-side with the SS it still looks damn good plus I don't have to worry about ruining any overlays. |
I just got the Lights and Sounds Sevenger the other day. It uses soft-ish plastic for the joints, and yeah they are pretty underwhelming. They look good in a neutral pose, but like others have mentioned before, the pliable material pushes back against the joins and makes it hard to hold a pose.
Additionally, while posing the figure, the forearm actually popped out of the socket but stayed in the shroud so the arm was just dangling there. You actually have to pull back the cover, then pop the arms back in and tuck the cover back into place. It's not fun to do. I later found out there is an extra piece of paper in the box (separate from the actual instructions) with a guide showing you how to do it which shows Bandai knew it was gonna be an issue. Soft plastic and rubber sure is exciting, but it will be difficult to do right in any manner that will last long. |

Geez... Imagine going through the trouble of pre-ordering the guy and this happens. Literally unacceptable.
|
I mean I wouldn't say it's unacceptable. It's just an inevitability when you're doing something new. It's one of those things where it really sucks that it's happening but at the same time, was it something they didn't catch when testing how it worked? Did they not consider extreme poses potentially damaging the overlay if pushed too far? Did the materials change during production?
It's hard to say. Say what you want about Bandai but I doubt they'd knowingly put a product like this out if they were well aware of the QC setbacks already. I'm disappointed to see it happen and am wondering how gentle you'd need to be to make most of the articulation AND keep him in good condition, but I'm not gonna bite Bandai's head off over it yet. |
can't wait for them to do a new tiga years later using the perfected soft plastic and call it ss renewal

Me: I wish I had gotten SHF Ultraman Titas, I wonder how much he costs on the aftermarket
*checks* Me: HE COSTS JUST ABOUT $600!? now i really regret not springing for him when i got shf zero-one shining assault hopper |
On mandarake he hovers around 28,000 Yen. It's INSANE and I don't know why he goes for that much; I get he's popular, but... Zero doesn't even come close to that amount! There has to be a story behind this

I'd assume it's because less people ordered him initially, therefore there are less out in the wild.
|
|
Well, I think I'll try getting a Ultraman Titas SHF on Mandarake after I preorder the SHF KR Buster that I hope will be revealed at the Tamashii Features event (at the very least Buster will be the priority for KR Saber SHFs for me). That cannot came any sooner.

Truth be told my patience for companies like Bandai and Hasbro could not possibly be lower at this point considering how willing they are to rush things out the door at increasingly exorbitant price points, only for things like this to happen. They could just... not do that. That is an option they have. Don't take these kinds of risks when you're still recovering from a massive blow to all aspects of your business. But here we are. |
Has anyone received their Alpha Edge upgrade effect parts? It was supposed to be released on April but my order on Tokullectibles hasn't been shipped yet.

You guys want some transparent clear riders? These are Ichiban Kuji lottery riders. Would be neat to play this, each ticket is guaranteed a winner of one of these guys.
A prize - Saber B prize - Reailizing Hopper(?) C Prize - ZI-O D Prize - Build |
Depends on how much they are. That Zero One looks kinda good.
|
That Zero-One actually somehow does the Realizing Hopper look better than the real Realizing Hopper figuart.
|
Oooooh, that transparent Build. Hopefully it won't be impossible to get on the aftermarket eventually!
