Beast Morphers definitely has alot of good things going for it. It was clear that Saban wanted to go out with a bang, and Hasbro was there to help.

Oh yeah . Just like Wild Force. I Finish first season of Beast Morphers yeasterday. Something happens with Devon father. Blaze and Roxy woke up . So excited to season 2 with more batles, power ups and of course the return of Jason, Keeper, Dr K, Dino thunder and Dino Charge Rangers

Got tired of waiting for the final bit of it to drop and began watching Dino Fury. Binged the first six episodes tonight and so far it's not bad. Probably the big things I noticed off the bat are that the soundtrack is very 90s/early 2000s videogame and that this season isn't as good at hiding the stock footage as Beast Morphers was.

Those aside, I do personally get a kick out of all of the little nods that the show been doing. Such as J-Borg being from Hartford Robotics and Izzy making a reference to Kimberley when first getting into the Megazord.

As the early episodes are mainly just meant to introduce us to our cast and how they'll play off eachother, there's not much else to say? The Morphing Sequence is cool, I like how Warden Garcia is portrayed as a dude who's just trying to earnestly do his job, and the posing being a legit part of the training was pretty funny. Heck, there have been a surprisingly decent number of lines that I've gotten a kick out of so far.

Probably for the first time ever though, I'm not really feeling the new comedy duo? Like, they're not bad per se, but just kinda whatever? Maybe they'll grow on me.

Hoping the rest of the show drops by the time I get through what's already there.

As of last night, I finished re-watching the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and it's just as fun and enjoyable as I remembered it being from the last time I watched the season several years ago.

That's not very nice. J-Borg is totally serviceable, despite Hartford androids somehow regressing in complexity.

Also, now up through episode 12, and while I don't think the show is really doing anything to super stand out as of yet, it does have a few more things going for it.

Namely, I've noticed that the overall theme of the show seems to be about lies and deception? Alot of the plots so far have been centered around things not being as they first seem, and in a variety of ways too. Seems like more often than not though the default is stories about how things that seem too good to be true usually are.

This also might be the first season where I like the villains more than the Rangers? Void Knight being Mr. Freeze was a great twist, Mucus is consistently funny and has a surprisingly good win record for someone constantly being told to shut up, and Boomtower and Slither are just fun to watch.

Not to sell the Rangers short though, as so far I'm really digging Javi in terms of both personality and storyline. Episode 11 especially was a good highlight for him, and the Mood Beam lead to some great character humor across the cast.

I also gotta imagine that the staff really liked Ninja Steel, given that not only is there a semi-crossover episode in the form of Mick coming back but also a few references to the season itself being sprinkled about. Which, hey, as someone who liked that season, I ain't complaining.

I thought the move to Netflix was going to solve the hiatus problem, but where before we were waiting until late August, now we have to wait until September. It's frustrating for sure.

While I'm not a big fan of the OP, I do think the background music during fights has this cool cosmic techno feeling that I enjoy. Also during the Morphin' sequence is pretty epic!

As you may have realized from Episode 7, Warden Buzzkill's major flaw is that he's a little too earnest in his job, to the point of neglecting Javi and talking trash about his hobby.

In addition to the chivalry of knights, yeah, you make a good point about the theme. It's important not to judge a book by its cover, which I think is a moral they took from Ryusoulger and expanded on that in various ways with each episode. I feel like this gives the show a more mature and conscientious feeling than previous seasons.

I like how the comedy is spread pretty evenly among the Rangers and villains, instead of just relying on the typical comic relief duo. Mucus and Slither have a sweet friendship and Void Knight has this dry sense of humor which is great.

However, there is one piratical villain appearing later who I basically hate. He annoys the hell out of me and he's just a total a**hole to his allies.

I think all the Rangers have their own appeal, but I have to give the favorite position to Amelia. I love how she believes strongly in things that seem impossible and foolish to others and she's not afraid to speak openly about them.

It's really confusing to me too as to why exactly they're still splitting each chunk so far apart. Like, I get that turning each season into two does good for toy sales, but I can't imagine that then taking each "season" and stretching them so far apart does good for keeping audience interests, especially given it's not exactly like a Netflix-exclusive show is gonna have reruns.

Yeah that was a surprisingly real thing for the series to depict, especially on part of parental favoritism, which is something that kids far too often have to deal with unfortunately. I welcome the writers being willing to portray and talk about it for sure.

I could see that. While there are definitely still some MMPR-esque elements sprinkled throughout, so far it seems like Dino Fury is more trying to focus on being something more akin to a season out of the Disney Era. The general tone very much reminds of seasons like, say, Jungle Fury. Which I imagine alot of fans must be happy about given the biggest complaint usually thrown at the Neo-Saban Era.

Oh absolutely. Whoever the lead writers are, you can very clearly tell that they love lampshades and dry reactions, as there's plenty of those throughout the show so far. One of my favorite exchanges being:

"Hey, you're not supposed to be here!"

"Yeah well neither are you!"

Each episode has atleast one bit that gives me a good laugh, and it so far hasn't become obnoxious or overstayed its welcome like how MCU-style humor has for me.
