So I signed up for Smash boards to give my input on why no customs should be the standard in the Smash 4 meta. I wrote two paragraphs that I felt were really great writing and added a personable touch to it. And then one guy replied to me and destroyed my argument with two sentences.

Welp there that argument goes.

Any of you want to know what 20XX in Smash is?

Sure, I've heard of the term before but if you could clear up any misunderstanding about it I'd be quite happy.

Okay, c'mon now, its not his fault a lot of crap has been going on in the gaming industry. He's just reporting it.

It would be the perfection of the Smash Bros Melee metagame as described by a high tier Smash Player. Essentially, everyone would play frame perfect, make no mistakes and Fox would be the only character left. Since everyone plays perfectly, the only way someone could win is based on something called port priority, where if two players attacked each other at the same time with the same attack as the same character, the player closest to the player one controller slot would win. So essentially, Melee battles would come down to very high level rock paper scissor matches over who gets the player 1 slot.

The first two stocks of this match show what 20XX play could look like. All essentially becoming Player 1 doing 0 to death combos.

Thank god I stopped giving a damn about Melee 10 years ago.

I have my own version of this for Smash 4 called 21XX. Where everyone is a biological clone of ZeRo, everyone plays with smooth lander equipment since nobody wants to deal with endlag anymore, customs on, Sheik only, on SmashVille. Once again decided by port priority.

So I picked up Shulk again when messing around with Smash 4 outside of my usual Marth/Roy training and man I don't even know why I dropped him months ago. Great aerials, the monado mechanics are cool and he feels good to control.

I've also been trying to unlock customs mainly through trophy rush. And holy fuck they are hard to get. I think I got maybe 10 new customs after casually playing a lot of Trophy rush and Classic mode.

I have almost all the customs already after spending 400 hours on Smash 3DS. I'm missing a few and that's burning me up inside since i can't seem to find them.

There's a customs in particular burning me up too. I was reading on Smash Boards about a custom Marth setup involving Iai counter, when I turned on the Wii U version of Smash 4 , I found out I didn't have it.

So I was playing For Glory today and I just got straight up wrecked. I got two stocked everywhere, by two different R.O.B.s and a Zero Suit Samus

I'm currently training my Pikachu amiibo, ive had a ton of names in mind for this little guy but i finally settled on one, i'll show it off once i'm done training him.

Still getting my butt kicked in Smash 4 by my friends, but hey, I learned some new tech today! It's where if you hold down while doing your character's Up special, they don't snap onto the ledge and go a bit past it.

So I'm watching TSM Zero's stream and it's fucking hilarious.

Found my old copy of Brawl and man, Wolf is pretty cool to play as. His Forward Smash has some ridiculous range. Or at least moves him pretty far.

Wolf was always my Star Fox go to. Shame he got the cut, considering he wasn't just a clone, with differing normals to set him apart.

I still can't wrap my head around why they decided to cut Wolf but keep Falco.

Yeah. Unfortunate. Hopefully he's back as DLC as I can't see him being left out of the roster by the end of Smash 4's DLC dev cycle.

So I found out today that Fox has a custom Side B that makes it like Wolf's.

The new things I learn about Smash 4, man. Also, I didn't have that custom unlocked.

I just wish that the custom moves weren't randomly gained.
It's rough enough to grind them out, but then you get ones you already had? Argh, so annoying.
Anyway, even if Fox has Wolf's Side B, Ness had all of Lucas's attacks, and that half pint made it back in~

I wasn't saying it lessened Wolf's chances, I just found that out today from a Wolf support thread talking about how the custom gives a bit of credence of him being at some part of development during the base game.

And yeah, Customs are a pain to get. Why there isn't just a dedicated Customs shop or a "Pay X dollars to unlock them all" is beyond me.

If Customs come back in Smash 5, they need a major revamp.
