What is the point you're trying to make?

Simple, instead of ignoring the Pre-Zyuranger Sentai teams which were horrendously incorporated into Super Megaforce, adapt them for P.R., preferably in a separate, stand-alone series that attempts to answer long-standing continuity questions. Surprisingly, there seems to be some resistance in this position of allowing Changeman, Flashman, Maskman, Fiveman, and Dairanger to live in P.R., but I'm not trying to start something, just suggest it.

Who would fund this sister series? How would it make a profit? What is gained for Saban Brands and the Power Ranger brand by doing it? How cheaply can it be done; can it only have voice actors or are face actors needed? Would anyone watch it? What commercial appeal does it have to the target audience? What stock footage is useable? Can these things be toys? How successful would this sister series toy line be? How much in sales would the sister series potentially take from the main toy line?

These are just a few questions that would be asked before Saban Brands even considers doing this. It is a good idea to explain things to the adult fans, but the kids don't care. In those episodes they saw Troy and that is all that really mattered to them (red is the most popular). Although this could be a great fan project and present it to Saban for them to sign off on making it cannon (don't know how possible or likely that is).

It should be officially produced and handled. It's profit would be from older viewers and younger "toy happy" kids. Lot of different questions in the franchise that the fandom has never gotten answers to, so there are tons of reasons. Cheap is a relative term. Some episodes would focus on costumed stuntmen and voice actors, and others might have an actual person appearing; I'm thinking something like "Goosebumps" here. Commercial appeal is that kids and adults who like P.R. would be interested despite initial fears of failure, but I would like to see it put on the air when the primary series is on break, so that the ever-prevalent Nickelodeon gap is not so glaring and devoid of product. Anything that has not been used up to this point, from Shinkenger, to Goseiger, to Gokaiger. There has always been footage that doesn't get used and that does help justify some of this. Of course there will be toys-galore, it's the only way this can survive. Pre-Zyu teams getting American toys, as well as those who should have gotten toys from a previous line like Super Megaforce can get one here. The line will succeed depending on what figures are produced and whether there is enough diversity to call it "respectable" merchandising. Wouldn't there be people who would like a 5 inch. Brajira/Vrak or even Emperor Mavro? How about a little Ninjor? The line can appeal to young and old alike as young likes toys and will flock to the newer characters, especially the ones they remember, the older ones will flock to more classic interpretations, especially the ones they remember. The fandom has debated franchise questions which I'm sure they would like to see get a worthwhile interpretation of. That and the nostalgia factor help to validate such a project and its worth. I honestly believe in the idea.

And yet sadly the idea won't get made. Saban only has a certain budget to throw out at the different a shows the company does. There will only ever be one current season of power rangers, no more. Your point of seeing this past series isn't going to go any where in reality. There is VERY little market and value in doing it, Saban Brands will continue to focus on the current series and plan for future adaptations of recent Super Sentai Series. Also the kids and more than likely the majority of adults either forgot about it or don't care. It's the past it happened move on, make fan fiction,,but writing up long posts isn't going to change a thing.

I think the mech designs for the Pre-Zyu teams mentioned are too blocky, but that is just me. I also don't think word builder would look great on them, but they could still sell. Now with the sister show airing during the hiatus...I think that is a bad idea. That is the prime time that Nick promotes getting out and playing and if the same time slot is kept (noon on Saturdays), that is optimal time for kids to be out playing/being with their families. It would be weird if PR told them to stay inside and watch a show with a bunch of characters they are being caught up on. The nostalgia factor doesn't apply here in the US though; these older teams are not part of the first audience's childhood, nor did most of us know of these teams until fairly recently. And the kids that these teams would be marketed to have no idea who they are. Now what you are describing would probably be pretty popular in Japan, but you can't tug on the nostalgia strings when those shows didn't air here, nor did their stock fight footage.

I still don't think Bandai is dumb enough to put out a competing toy line when their main line would still be on the shelves. Releasing new toys of the show is how they keep kids interested in the show during the break, so why would they compete with themselves? What little sales they might get from the sister show would be money taken away from the current show.

I understand your reasons for wanting this show to be made and I agree with them, but there is nothing for Saban Brands and Bandai to gain by making it. You are looking at this from an adult fan's perspective and not a business perspective; Saban and Bandai would lose more than they would gain from doing this. The fans would gain more knowledge of the Power Rangers legacy, but that could be supplemented with online shorts on the official website. It doesn't need a show.

And the footage would look terrible on modern TV's. Imagine old Flashgun footage on a 70 inch plasma...horrible. Lol
