I felt a bit like that too. It sucks because the show is so much better when Kirino isn't around or the root of everything (I felt the OVAs where she was in America were the best part of the first season).

three days until the premiere of RWBY!

We watched C Control today. We saw the first 2 episodes at NDK last year and thought it they were great. It was like a mix between Shin Megami Tensei, Speed Grapher, and Tron. The following four episodes were just as great as teh first two, but by the end, I was left disappointed because it was just another anime without a true conclusion. I am glad to have watched it, but I am glad I did not buy it back in Oct like I was planning on doing as it is not something I'll probably watch again.

As excited as I am for that, I don't think I'd call it anime, seeing as RoosterTeeth is based in the US and all.

Well, the show is really about her... But I do agree. The other characters are just more interesting.

But I read some spoilers (on Wikipedia of all places lol) and Kyosuke apparently won't be alone for long..

I'm really enjoying Shingeki so far, great animation, interesting characters and a fighting style basically built around grappling hooks should not be this awesome.

Gurren Lagann episode 3, it was pretty good. I hope they explain how Gurren and Lagann were able to combine. That was interesting how they took Viral's Gunmen's helmet.

I watched the opening episode of Suisei No Gargantia. Great animation, beautiful women, space opera and mechs. Yes please!

About the only bad thing was the mech proportions were bizarre, Chamber looks so small on the outside compared to what we see on the inside.

So I'm all caught up with Shingeki now, I actually stayed up til about 7am yesterday to watch the majority of the series, I was that hooked.

Much like Gantz it is very depressing and heavy in places, as they've chosen a sort of melodramatic realism for the series and as such triumph is always bittersweet with much death and heartache to get us there.

But at the same time, the fact that the show pulls no punches, that characters aren't safe simply because they are the good guys or protagonists provides such a deep level of emotional investment and makes each action sequence so thrilling and intense to watch.

I understand why more shows don't do it like this, but I love it when stuff like this and Gantz provide real stakes to truly make your watching worthwhile.

I just got to episode 13 of Shakugan no Shana, i want those twins to die so badly not because they creep me out but because they're annoying.
