I agree; it would be nice seeing Susan again. |
I don't, if only because it'll make one of (if not the) best Doctor Who audio stories ever produced essentially non-canon unless it drops a ton of references no one will understand.
So basically, you should all just go listen to the fourth season of Eighth Doctor audios and enjoy the finale instead. |
That was hands down one of the greatest Doctor Who episodes ever. I think I like it almost as much as Blink and The Girl in the Fire Place.

Yeah, I'm talking about Heaven Sent. It was awesome as they never really stuck him in a time loop before with a castle that came out of Legacy of Kain and featured the Scissorsman from Clock Tower. |

To be honest, Dimensions in Time could be a good special and it would still pale in comparison to the genius that is The Curse of Fatal Death anyway :D

... I'm going to hold off on posting my opinion for now, until I can both organize it into words and wait to see if you guys all agree or not

I liked it. But I like to think that at the end Ashlidr/ Me took Clara back down her time-stream to face the raven. I was saddened by Clara’s death―I cried―because she is my favourite companion and I wanted her to have a happy ending, but I was also content and satisfied with it.
Capaldi and Coleman have great chemistry together; I’m really going to miss her. Anyway, this year’s Christmas special looks fun. :D |
Was a great episode until the massive predictable cop-out where Clara didn't die (yet). Her going off in a TARDIS with Ashildr was just the ridiculous icing on the cake. Really let the episode down for me.

Another great Doctor Who finale. It was strange there wasn't some big boom going on in it, but that was a nice change of pace. I can't wait to see what they do with the Time Lords from now on. As a whole, the season was absolutely fantastic even with it featuring one of the worst episodes of the entire franchise, but that was off set by one of the best episodes ever. Calpadi is just as good as Baker and Tennant.

I liked it. It wasn't as good as last week, but that's honestly an incredibly high bar to set. I think I had my expectations set a bit too high, because I really feel the need to see this again to fairly evaluate it. I'm liking it more and more just sitting here thinking about it, though.
I didn't expect that Gallifrey's long-awaited return would be such a red herring, but I'm kinda fine with it; I've never been a huge fan of Gallifrey stories. The episode was really about the Doctor and Clara and I liked it a lot. We've written Clara out three times now and this was probably my favorite ending - off having adventures with Ashildr (can I also just point out that I loved the reveal of the diner being the one from The Impossible Astronaut; that was adorable). It leaves the door open to see both characters again, but it still feels like the Doctor and Clara have come to a natural parting. A good companion, like Donna, tempers the Doctor; Clara's become more and more of an enabler and they both realize it. It was a good ending, even if Face the Raven is going to lose much of its power in hindsight. |

What? Where did I say the season was bad? If anything this has been the most consistently good series in a long time, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy every single episode and for me the finale wasn't that great. It took a hugely powerful moment and completely undid it.

Heaven Sent and Hell Bent are a great pair of episodes. The ending, especially, to Hell Bent was just.. It was perfection. Now the wait begins for the new companion, and the victory party starts for the end of that running sonic sunglasses joke.
That new screwdriver is just epic. |
Finished Series 4 and I really really liked this one. Donna is by far my favorite of the Companions. I loved how she and the Doctor interacted. The Storys in this season were also pretty cool for the most part. Some were better than others but none of them really bored me at any point. I am mixed on the finale. On the one hand it was pretty grandious and action packed but the ending and the whole Time-Lord/Human Metacrisis thing doesnt really sit well with me.

Huh. I guess I am in the minority for finding this episode... not very good. Clara being brought back kinda killed anything relating to Face the Raven, and considering how I've grown to dislike both her and Ashildr, that ending... I'm just going to say I've read fanfic that made more sense.
But yeah. Not a fan. But still, the scenes before Clara came back were pretty much all gold (except maybe Rassilon, but I guess the Master really wrecked him before making off with the nethersphere) and the ending in the Doctor's TARDIS (especially that new screwdriver) was cool. It doesn't ruin the rest of the series, which is easily one of the best run's there's ever been since 2005, but I found it a dissapointing end. 4/10 But, I have to ask- anyone else reminded of Eight and Terra Firma when it comes to the ending? |
"Clara and Me need their own show!" *Straightens papers, clears throat* No. Go away and live in the dark dank pit of snakes where we threw the Smith fangirls. No one wants you.
That is all. |

Smith is one of my favourite Doctors. I luffs him♡ |

I’m not sure how I feel about an Ashlidr/ Me and Clara spin-off, either. I liked Hell Bent―though I liked Face the Raven and Heaven Sent better―but, as I said in an earlier post, I like to think that Clara was taken back down her time-stream to face the raven. |
