I like the actual robot to be practical/real, and I like it when CGI is used to make the practical effects look cooler.

Would be possible have a retro sentai ?

What exactly do you want? Again, it sounds like you've never watched Super Sentai. |
More homages to the 80's and 90's like the mechas, villains, monsters and plots.
|
Like what?

I mean, robots and villains/monsters could reminds the 80's and 90's designs.

http://rs47.pbsrc.com/albums/f182/Bo...4uisg.jpg~c200 Callback to this guy from Zyuranger. http://www.cultureblues.com/wp-conte.../Pudgy-Pig.jpg And guess what? Speaking of Zyuranger: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...53/Ryuuwon.jpg Designed to look like DaiZyuJin. And his footsoldiers? Designed to look like DragonCaesar. http://www.morphinlegacy.com/wp-cont...va-Lizards.jpg Or do you want them to be incredibly simplistic and made with the same materials like back in the Showa Era? Because a lot of those looked like crap compared to modern design techniques. Especially mecha. Have you seen most Showa Mecha? They all pretty much look like the same big blue and red boxy robots. Modern mecha stand out far more as unique designs with obvious design cues. Seriously, do you even watch this show? Your questions sound like something a person who only knows about the most basic parts of the franchise, it's like if I asked in the Doctor Who thread if we could have another Doctor with a "middle aged British man in Thatcher's England" fashion sense again. That's not a very relevant aspect of Dr. Who and it also is just pointless. At least on the few occasions I do post there I make it relatively clear that I don't know Who and my questions go into actual concepts in the show that I have heard about, not "Maybe we have a Dalek as the Doctor?" |
The mechas could be less pokemon/digimon.

Or what exactly do you mean? "90's" mecha is a pretty broad distinction containing cars, jets, mechanical animals, rescue vehicles, space ships, mythical Chinese animals and a Walking Ninja Fortress. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/bf1mYZPM-3o/maxresdefault.jpg 90's mecha didn't have a natural relaxed stance, so do you want something like ZyuOhKing where it's a solid straight all the way down leg? Perhaps if you elaborated on what it is you mean there would be an actual discussion. Like, say, "Anyone else want another rescue themed Sentai? How would you do that in this day and age with collectable gimmicks and heavy use of accessory mecha?" (I want another Rescue Sentai.) But all you do is just say some really basic and meaningless quip about something and we have to try and figure out what you mean. What IS a 90's mecha to you? What IS a 90's villain design for you? "Something like X character?" What exactly about them are you drawing upon? |

I wouldn't mind Cartoony Animal Mecha for a year. |

Insect Bikers Bushido Fish Fantasy creatures Robots And they were all effectivley under the command of a Space Pirate with footsoldiers that all look like little orange pirate deckhands. And Go-Go-V's villain cast was literally a big demonic empire of evil batwinged horned demons. That's a pretty damn varied pool of design influence that is barely comparable with eachother, especially within Gingaman itself. What exactly do you want? What are you specifically reffering to in each show? Just saying "like this Sentai" is meaningless. |
Seeing as Toei completely and utterly (and thankfully) dropped the ball with not making ToQger have knights as a secondary motif, who here is in agreement it's high time it happen...
And be based around planes. The tagline writes itself- "Heroes fly by knight." |

I don't think the pun works in Japanese but a Sentai that's basically Jetman sans the birds? Sure. |
Keita Ameimiya could work like a designer ?
|
Since GoseiWonder already started the ball rolling... :lolol
Dude, you have to contribute more than asking random questions. You're asking things that NO ONE has any more insight into than you do. "Could Keita Amemiya work as a designer again?" Sure. Anything could happen. "We could have objects like the infinity gems and chaos emeralds in sentai ?" Sure! Again, anything could happen. "Should sentai could had cosmic beings like marvel ?" See above answers. "Would be possible have a retro sentai ?" OH MY GOD, SURE! ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN! I hate to be hard on you, as English is obviously not your first language, and you seem pretty young. But you have to post more than just one-sided questions if you don’t want the rest of us to get frustrated. Like, maybe contriubute reasons why you think each of those things would be cool, why you want them, what specifically you mean, etc... :lol |

Or even better, there are no tragic events IRL and it's just naturally followed up with goofy comedic antics! |

And did I miss something -- was ToQger supposed to be knight-themed at some point? |
Quote:
But there is a certain romantic interpretation, particularly in the early days of aviation, of fighter pilots acting as modern day knights upon thunderous, flying metal steeds. No, but the visors suggest it would've been perfect. Also, certain types of older trains tend to be very big and bulky. Perfect for a massive armored robot, not to mention the existence of armored trains, railway guns, etc. But trains are boring, so better not to waste a theme on them. |
Pretty sure Engine Souls are SD Cards.
|
Would a knight theme really work for Sentai, who are designed to be lightweight and fast?
Our Knight style characters all had more armor than usual (Black Knight, Wolzard Fire, and GoseiKnight), which isn't Sentai's usual base style. |

Also, remember, samurai are typically pictured wearing armor, and they only form on Shinkenger that was actually armored came from Power Rangers. |

Not if you go with universal chainmail undersuit with destinguished tunics for each Senshi. "But Gosei! That's a Ninja!" http://pre08.deviantart.net/3631/th/...85-d5mbrr2.jpg Real knights didn't always run around in full plate armor. In fact, that's not practical in battle because it limits mobility. Most knights wore chainmail, a thick woven tunic, a helmet and maybe some light plate armor akin to Dino Steel Mode or whatever Kyoryuger called it. |
Concerning samurai, not really. I've seen so few armored samurai images (And so many in robes and the like) that I'm partially convinced Samurai never wore armor :lol
And fair enough about the knights, but mild counter point. You established that Hurricanger already did that. Why reuse the same design? |

Unless you want to make the "chainmail" to look more like grey scales, it's not something you can change too much to make it look all it's own. But fuck it. Let's just make a team of 5 HurricaneBlues with lines across her visor, since you're apparently so desperate for a knight theme that it's irrelevant that she's literally done exactly what you already want. |

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KD3aCIw6A_E Hey if they could have several different characters all with some level of unique Rescue feature, Kinkyu Sentai ResQger should be possible. But I suppose you could mingle Magi, Hurricane and ToQ together make make Sentai Knights. In some way at least. |
Gingaman was a knight themed too ?
|
You could say that, but their suit design doesn't really lend itself to a knight, at least in my eyes (Sans, well...Black Knight).
Who knows, maybe Charlie Brown stripes is something knights are famous for. |

Dude, chill out. The chain mail/scale mail pattern in Hurricanger is far from the defining element of that uniform, and there are plenty of ways to execute the same idea differently. Look at the sleeves on the Kyoryuger costumes, which did a unique spin on a similar concept. But even ignoring the possibility of a different take, if your argument is that Sentai designers are averse to using the same costume design element more than once, you're being willfully obtuse. You can't imagine a cool knight-based Sentai design. Fine. But that doesn't give you a right to mock someone's enthusiasm. |
Maybe if someone described what a knight ranger would look like, because "Chainmail arms and legs + tunic" is exactly what HurricaneBlue is. Perhaps something more useful than that can help my apparent caveman brain into imagining what you people want.
And I would argue that the chainmail portion on the Hurricangers is their defining feature. Sure as hell isn't their completely standard suits. |
