Alright, I think I put this off for long enough so here goes. Guncannon109's top 11 episode of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic! Why top 11? Because I just couldn't narrow it down just ten!
Now for this I will be lumping all two parters into one episode, just so they don't take up half the list. Keep in mind that this is strictly opinion based and if your favorite episode isn't on here then by all means, make your own list. Also, to avoid spamming the forum I will be posting each number one at a time over the course of the next few days. Now then, with out further a due... let's jam! Number 11: Sisterhooves Social http://media.screened.com/uploads/0/...h56m04s197.png Sisterhooves Social is the fifth episode of the second season and the thirty-first episode overall. The episode follows Rarity and Sweetie Belle who have a crisis in their relationship and it reaches its limits when Rarity has to look after Sweetie Belle for the week while their parents are away. Let me just say that for the longest time I absolutly hated the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I found them to be absolutely annoying as all hell and hated when I reached an episode that focused on them. Though I did reach an episode that made me change my mind about them... Sisterhooves Social was that episode. I swear this episode is probably one of the best examples of sibling relationships in animation history. Having two siblings myself I can say that it can get rather stressful and its not always “siblings = bestest friends forever!” that you sometimes see in movies and television... or see with Applejack and Applebloom in this episode. Now while that does happen occasionally, I find that the former is more common then the latter. Not all conflicts need to be big conflicts. That said I can say that anyone who has ever been a sibling will not only recongnize the conflict in this episode, but will relate to it one hundred percent. Sure the ending is a bit cliche, but it is still genuine and really I can't think of a better one. Sisterhooves Social, it made me love what I thought I hated. |
Oh man, Sisterhooves Social is an amazing episode. It showcases the sibling rivalry excellently and has awesome moments from every episode. Easily one of my favorites. I liked that they didn't force any one character to be an antagonist in the episode. While Rarity was more of one, it did well enough to show that siblings clash, and, more often than not, neither one party is entirely to blame.
Also, interesting that Sisterhooves was what won you over to the CMC (Like I said, they'll always win you over...Eventually :lol), despite Scootaloo (Most popular CMC character) being absent entirely, and the episode focusing more on Sweetie Belle than Apple Bloom or the group as a whole. Aping your idea, though, I'd have to say my 10th favorite episode was Secret of My Excess. It was the kind of episode Spike needed and it was a rather touching one. The moral of giving vs. receiving wasn't too heavy handed and the antics of controlling Spike was fun. Spike admitting his crush was a touching moment, Rarity choosing the Fire Ruby over her life on the basis that Spike was the one who gave it to her (Note: Rarity didn't know the dragon was Spike and no one else could hear her. Everything she said in that moment was the truth) was heartwarming and the episode overall was a mix of smiles, action, and heartwarming moments. Spike isn't the most popular of characters, but it was a massive step up from the typical Spike story of "He's just a baby" being the driving point (Like in Dragon Quest or Owls Well that Ends Well). |

Yeah, I like Secret of my Excess too... but as for what number ten actually is, you'll just have to wait and see. |

Number 11: Sisterhooves Social
Alright I just want to get this one out of the way because it might stir up some controversy. Number 10: Suited for Success http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...sure_S1E14.png Okay, honestly do I even have to summarize this one? I mean come on, this is one of the most popular episode in the entire series... I still have to give the episode breakdown? Okay fine. Suited For Success is the fourteenth episode of season one. In this episode, Rarity wants to make party dresses for her friends for the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala, but has trouble satisfying all their requests. As a designer myself, I know for a fact that you can't please everybody and the solid fact that there are people that are just hard to work with. I know that wasn't the message in Twilight's letter at the end of the episode, but hey that's what I got out of it. As many people say, this is a really good episode with lessons that you don't normally get upon the first viewing especially for a kids show, it was the first appearance of many stables of the series and... Yeah I know what you're thinking “Why is it only Number 10?” Well to be honest, the episode has one major issue. Why was Rarity rushing herself to get everything done in one day when the Grand Galloping Gala isn't for another twelve episodes? Yeah sorry to say but that one little thing makes the entire conflict and rush of the episode kind of... unneeded. Unless there was some reason that I missed. I'm not saying that Suited for Success is a bad episode, it just has one little thing that keeps me from calling it a great one... I'm going to go hide from the fan boys now where they can never find me! |
>65 episodes
>Suited for Success is top 10 How could anyone be angry? It's one of my all time favorite episodes. Rarity's generosity shines through (Creating 11 dresses, one being a suit of armor). And it was Rarity's own ambitions that drove her to get the dresses done so quickly. |

Perfect ending theme for Harmoranger, just because i can imagine some of these shots with the Equestria girls gang. |
Number 10: Suited for Success
Alright, lets get back to the top 11 with number 9! number 9! number 9! Number 9: A Friend in Deed http://images.wikia.com/mlp/images/f...ish_S02E18.png A Friend in Deed is the eighteenth episode of the second season and the forty-fourth episode overall. When a newcomer, Cranky Doodle Donkey, moves to Ponyville, Pinkie Pie attempts to befriend him, however it doesn't exactly go as well as you might hope. Upon having her friendship rejected, Pinkie tries countless times to win Cranky over but keeps causing him even more problems as a result (all of which I will dare not spoil for those who haven't seen it) All things considered, A Friend in Deed is surprisingly mature episode considering the age demographic. I know this show reaches a wide range of audiences, but its still targeted towards little girls people. With that said, A Friend in Deed is on here not because its an entertaining episode, but because its just a good one and one that I don't really see people talk about that often. Which is a shame because it really deserves more attention. Truth be told, this is one of the only episodes that I actually gasped while watching. Again, like Sisterhooves Social, the ending is a little cliche but in a good way. I've seen this episode about two times already, and I pretty sure I'll be seeing it again soon as it is truly one of this show's finest. |
You know i figure since at my pace it would take me like 2 years to get to this i might as well post my quick idea for the rollcall bit in Xyger Vs Harmoranger.
Discord summons up dead generals that were defeated by the Harmorangers plus grunts from both Ranger team enemies, of course it's all just a game to him to see the rangers weaken themselves by fighting that many enemies. Then they yell they're morph call. "Harmony change! Xyger evolution! Xyger Eeveelution!" And they morph. Then the rollcall. Honest power of the Earth! Harmony Red! Laughing power of the Earth! Harmony Pink. Loyal power of the Sky! Harmony Blue! Kind power of the Sky! Harmony Yellow. Generous magic power! Harmony Noir! (Twilight's rollcall line that i haven't thought up yet.) Friendship is Magic! Equestrian Sentai Harmoranger! Evildoers hear our cry! The Blazing Fennekin! Xyger Red! The knowledgable Froakie! Xyger Blue! The Elegant Chespin! Xyger Green! The Crimson Whyvern! Xyger Crimson! The Navy Deer! Xyger Navy! The Rookie Eeveelution! Xyger Fairy! Pocket Sentai! Xyger! The two red:We are! All together:Super Sentai! |

I want to see if people think this is at least decent, this is a part of Lesson 1.
Meanwhile just outside of town, the dog monster was eating some of hi's stolen apples. He was really enjoying them until somebody just yelled out to him. "Diamond Dog! What are you doing?" The dog looked back and stood up. "Sunset Shimmer! I just having a snack!" He took out one apple and held it out to her. "Want one?" She looked at it for a bit and smack it out of hi's hand. "Didn't i tell you to eliminate the Elements of Harmony!?" Yelled Shimmer with a blazing fire behind her. He stammered for a bit. "Well it hard to find them when avoiding those stinky humans!" "Then don't! Just straight up destroy them until you find those elements!" She then snapped her fingers and many smaller dark monsters appeared around her. "Just take these and get out of my sight." She then disappeared in a puff of flames. The Diamond Dog then looked around at the monsters and then looked at the city. "What we waiting for? Go!" And he walked into that direction with the monsters following behind him. The wait for negative criticism gets me like this. http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m17ryx6IEu1r00gie.gif |
A mild tip when it comes to dialogue is that, when multiple characters are speaking, to move the paragraph down a line. It keeps the flow. Some writers will separate dialogue completely, but I don't think it's entirely necessary. However, if you have long stretches of dialogue with little actions, it might be better.
Anyway, I don't have any real criticisms, but there are some minor errors. Quote:
It's decent. Try to avoid starting a sentence with a conjunction like "And", though. While I'm not going to deride it, it has to carry a certain sense of flow, and the preceding sentence doesn't lead into it. As for the excerpt at hand, there are points where I'd make revisions in terms of wording and sentence structure, but for what it is, it's not bad. |

Number 9: A Friend in Deed
Number 8: Magic Duel http://images.wikia.com/mlp/images/3...ffect_S3E5.png Magic Duel is the fifth episode of the third season and the fifty-seventh episode overall. In this episode, Trixie returns to Ponyville within seemingly stronger skills in magic and defeats Twilight in a magic duel, banishing her from Ponyville. In Twilight's absence, Trixie takes over the entire town after encasing it in a bubble force field. The mane six attempt to reach Twilight in exile while Twilight prepares with Zecora for a rematch. I've praised this episode many times before so I'll make this one short. Obviously this is a Twilight episode (Favorite one by the way) and one of her best. But that's the thing though, I have trouble saying this is a “Twilight episode” because an episode for Twilight is an episode for all. All the characters are at their best here and each get to shine, even Pinkie Pie (her role is something you'll have to see for yourself though, because its too good to spoil here). From the comedy, to the conflict, to the resolution everything about this episode is truly briliant. I've stated that this list is strictly opinion based, but I can honestly say, much like A Friend in Deed, that Magic Duel is one of the best that this series has to offer. Magic Duel, truly magical. |
I swear i must have a big imagination because when i posted that scene i wrote earlier here i imagined it completely taking place in one of those reused sentai sets. Like the one that's a hill overlooking a town.

You seriously need to separate your story from Super Sentai.
You're trying to treat it as if it's an episode to a show, and that's holding things back. |

Just saw Equestria Girls... It actually wasn't that bad, not great but not awful. Its still the same lovable characters just in a different setting and look. As for my favorite part, well Alicorn Twilight is proving to be better then the fans make her out to be and Sunset Shimmer is actually a pretty good villain. Her motivation makes sense and given her surroundings, she's pretty damn evil. Also watching Twilight adjust from being a pony to human is pretty hilarious to watch.
But who am I to judge, go see it for yourself and make your own opinion on it. Although I'm pretty sure there are some people that wish that this was how the whole thing ended. http://derpicdn.net/media/W1siZiIsIj...rtist-dm29.png |
Oh and if you need any further motivation to see Equestria Girls I have one thing to say...

Though, my problem now with EG is this: Are Twilight and Sunset Shimmer (and possibly Spike) singularity points? For that matter, if Celestia says only Twilight may go due to the danger of all six going, implying the "You can't meet your alternate self or else the universe goes boom!" thing is in play, HOW DOES CELESTIA KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THAT WORLD? Oh, wait... Celestia... I forgot, she's a troll. |

Yeah, I saw this movie. It wasn't the worst thing made by humans. |

A singularity point means that they can affect events in the past but still exist in the present.
I don't think EG involves time travel. Unless it does. I just don't think it does :lol |
