So this is looking to be part of the Revice wave 1 line that they can't announce the name of yet. Which is good for me because I'm at least interested in these figures, especially Senki, and I'll be buying the wave anyways for Revice's base form.
|
I also want the SO-DO Revice base form and I hope they don't try to shoe-horn in their... uhh combined form gimmick.
https://news.tokunation.com/wp-conte...ce-Remix-1.jpg I also wonder if we'll get another first-half-of-the-series disappearing mecha. I've basically committed to collecting the SO-DO mecha. |
They never added the transformation to Lion Dai Senki so they’ll probably won’t do it for Revi. Feels very much like So-Do is to give you figures and leave the transformation to its own dedicated line
|
Twice in Saber G-san mentioned that they more or less prioritize articulation and sculpt over mode changing gimmicks like that. Not to say they won't have that feature, but if it's in the way of articulation and sculpt they most likely won't have that feature.
|
I could see it being the sort of thing they include in a later wave as at least the T-Rex combination might be requested a lot; like King Arthur or the Gatriker. The figures themselves doing it I doubt, but we'll probably at least see a separate T-Rex combination figure
|
I could see them maybe doing an accessory set to make the t-Rex if it's used a lot, but not doing them all.
|
Zenkaiger Yu-do wave 1 was up on Mandarake again, and I hopefully got it, as long as it doesn't turn out it sold in the physical store already!

So then! Yup, Lone Wolf and Justice Serval got revealed (and Revi teased). Not an awful lot to say about them other than they look great and Justice Serval got new parts for her claws!
But that's not all they come with! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0826230325.jpg When they made MBJR, they hadn't actually seen the film yet so didn't know what weapon he'd be using or what he'd be like; which is why they tossed in the last form of the Attache Arrow. But now the movie has been out, and they do know, so a little bit of catchup here! As shown above, he has his "GO TO UTOPIA" hand, and perhaps more excitedly... https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0826230446.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YxZlw4J.png https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0826230500.jpg The katana!! They went pretty all-out here with both the katana and the sheath, AND a special piece where it's half-drawn! Just some really cool stuff here. Lone Wolf and Justice Serval are going to be part of the same wave as Super Hero Senki and Kamen Rider Storious; which at this point I'm guessing is the same wave base Revi and Vice will be in. If that's true, while it was a bit weird for Saber's first wave to have so much 01 stuff; I think a variety of past season stuff is VERY appropriate for the first wave of our 50th anniversary rider! |
Hi folks, just wondering where people tend to pick up full boxes of SODO stuff? I did it during the Zi-O days but it was from all over (Mandarake, eBay, the usual suspects) - Is there anywhere especially good for it now? Thanks!

Nothing super unexpectd this week, but we have an interesting announcement:
https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0903184634.jpg Revi and Vice are first! There's a lot here about how they've redesigned the body to increase the range of motion, make it more proportionate, with a nice comparison shot of all the main Riders since Ex-Aid. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0903194033.jpg But anyway, that surprise? Well, Revice Wave 1 isn't just Revice... it's including Saber. And Zero-One. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0905083505.png After that bombshell, there's some nice shots of the Shodo Den-O wave, releasing tomorrow. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0902113039.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0902124521.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0902221213.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0902222859.jpg |
In honor of So-Do's 5th anniversary, behold this amazing commercial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-Ca4tQyVP0 |
While not quite as impressive as Saber's improvements - if only because there's not much higher they could go - there's still some impressive stuff going on with the yearly improvements here!
The big thing is that a LOT more focus is going into hiding joints than before. In particular there's a new type of hip introduced that completely hides the balljoint - these may as well be RKFs now! - while also allowing more outer movement; to the point they can do the splits! The gaps in the elbows have been reduced; gaps in the back of the arms and legs have been filled in; the outer shoulder movement introduced with Saber as been improved for Revi; they brought over CHRONICLE Ryuki's seamless ankle joint; the new style of legs allows for a sharper knee bend... it's nothing completely revolutionary, but it's a lot of small improvements that adds up to an awesome advancement all around! The stickers also remain very low from last year; most impressively to me, Revi's chest is completely painted and looks downright beautiful! His stickers are really just for his face, belt and some other minor details. Wave 1 is looking pretty insane, kinda fitting for how crazy Revice as a season is and this being the 50th anniversary! I'm guessing the other reveal for the wave are Revi and Vice's weapons since they weren't shown off here, but either way this looks great. Here's to a fantastic 5th anniversary for SO-DO!! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0905085100.png |
The engineering feats on Revice are no joke. I'm happy for them. The hips have always been the dead giveaway that these are cheap figures.
It's a shame that SO-DO improves so much every year because it does feel a little shitty to hang on to the previous year's molds. |
The first wave is named By 1
Check out a familiar face in the commercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxs6i-7IIWU |

Hey so they're not implying with this image that they're expanding the box size right? Kurona said it was probably the weapons which makes sense. Quote:
Yup. |

So according to rakutan it looks like they're upping the amount of boxes in a sodo wave to 14. |
Up on AmiAmi now confirming the case is 14.
|
Good lord... though y'know, actually; given that any new form in this show requires four boxes instead of two given how Revice works, that does kinda make sense!
|
So I guess boxes 13 & 14 are either a lot of accessories or 1 extra character.
Edit: Btw, I don't know if I should ask this here but, does anyone know if DHL prices vary too much for each country? |
My guess for the last two boxes is that it's either Solomon or non-rider Vice. Usually non-rider stuff happens way later in the line, but Vice is a unique enough situation that I could see him happening early and even as early as this
|
Hey friends I'm considering buying 2 lots of SO-DO Saber figures off of Yahoo Auction/Zenmarket. Problem is they both come with book 6, which I already have. Would anyone want to take them off my hands?

Yume yo odore
Kono hoshi no moto de Nikushimi wo utsushidasu Kagami nante kowasuhodo! SO-DO Kamen Rider Ryuki https://i.imgur.com/LsPrKoE.jpg https://i.imgur.com/F2IleQT.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tQoh494.jpg https://i.imgur.com/FrFzGLx.jpg Most of the time when I paint Ryuki related stuff, they don't require as much paint as other Heisei riders and the SO-DO figure is no different. The only sticker I used is the belt and the sword blade. The head is a soft plastic and fully painted right out of the box. Very nice but the mask part has a tendency to fall off when moving the head around on the tight neck joint. Also warning: The top part of the DragVisor is very small and likes to go missing. I almost threw it out with the bag because its so small. This SO-DO figure is made from a very nice red plastic. I was expecting the cheaper red found a lot in the recent Saber SO-DOs. The included soft-plastic hands were a nice touch but in effect they hold the sword very poorly. It still beats the old SO-DO style swords in the past. We also get a closed fist and it really makes you wish SO-DO came with more closed fists. The arm articulation is really good with pull out shoulders inside a hinge. I don't know if it was just my figure, but the waist joint is very very loose. As a result, Ryuki can be a little floppy, especially with extended arm poses. Even though we've previewed the new thigh joints in the Revice SO-DO, these older style joints actually work well with Ryuki's suit design. I wonder if the SO-DO Chronicle line will adapt the Revice joints? Anyhow, it's a great figure. I'm a big fan of the Ryuki design. I can hear the sound of glass breaking! |

That feeling comes from SO-DO Chronicle being a 14+ line while normal SO-DO is a 3+ line. G-san mentions the safety requirements SO-DO has to do that SO-DO Chronicle doesn't many times. Also pretty sure Chronicle costs a little more.

Minipla vs Super Minipla (now known as Sokugan Modeling Project) also has a similar distinction in quality. |
Even though the So-Do Kiwami body has those Fruit Jesus pecs and abs, it is still compatible with other chest armors. So I made a quick head swap with the only long haired figure I had ...

A bajillion reveals today! SHODO Imagin are cool to see, I think this finishes the Ryuki show Riders, and hey, Evolto!
|
The SHO-DO Guardians are BEAUTIFUL. Something I absolutely adore about SHO-DO is how gorgeous the mooks are. It makes me super happy since these guys tend to not look good as SO-DO figures, and Figuarts either doesn't cover them anymore or covered them during a period where Figuarts looked like garbage.
The SHODO Imagin are...very interesting. Pretty much every suit they covered so far with shoulder pads has them attached to the torso, but they're not being very consistent with these guys for some reason. Momotaros' shoulder pads are independent on the actual suit, but they're attached to the torso in SHO-DO. Urataros and Ryutaros all have indepedent shoulder pads on their suits and remain independent in SHO-DO. Kintaros' shoulder pads are attached to the torso on the suit, but are independent in SHO-DO. Did they do something like this before? Odd. I figured anything with shoulder pads would be attached to the torso in SHO-DO. |

- That's incredible we're getting Durandal's very long spear. Knight Survive was one of my top 10 suits for a very long time. Glad to see it in SO-DO. Meanwhile Ryuki Survive is my least favorite Heisei final form! The exaggerated proportions of Converge figures really makes you notice how big tall the Revice helmet is. |
