Just managed to hand in an assignment to my uni literally a few seconds before the deadline. The amount of adrenaline pumping through me right now is phenomenal.

I had a okay Halloween because I didn't do much other than sit around the house and watch movies. I did my own 31 Days of Halloween where I watch a horror movie every day in October like I do every year.

For Halloween I saw Split and Colours From Space, I have mixed opinions on Split but goddamn if Colours From Space wasn't great

I loved Color out of Space, but I can see why some people don't like it.

My past experience in food service made me hate Halloween forever.

You are very fortunate. Halloween was so bad at my Wendy's that skipping the day got you auto-fired. It was always one of, if not the worst day to work there the two years I spent there.

Thinking about it though, this year might've been different thanks to covid, but either way, Halloween can go to Hell after those past years.

Seeing how the Mandalorian got rid off their green screen and opted for LED screens instead to create a more realistic visual experience makes me wonder what would Kamen Rider and Sentai and other toku look like if they invested in giant LED screens to replace their green screens.

I know that Toei already switched to Unreal engine for Kamen Rider Saber, maybe if they could train the VFX department to master it? I'm definitely curious as to the look of it.

Of course it's a costly investment so who knows if they're going to be willing to actually jump on board.

My business partner Patrick and I were in Memphis a few years back for a conference. We had one night to get dinner in town, and Patrick's a huge wrestling fan (I'm a fan, but he's a HUGE fan), so he wanted to hit Jerry Lawler's restaurant.

It was terrible. The service took forever, the menu was super-limited, and the actual food was bland and unimpressive. We had all of Memphis to get good BBQ, and we were at the worst joint for it.

(The decor was interesting, a lot of wrestling paraphernalia, but not nearly enough to make up for the awful food.)

The best/worst moment was as we were going to order dessert. Every option was crossed off the menu except for the Brownie Sundae, so we ordered that. The waitress looks confused, and then says that she has to check to make sure they have brownies. Takes forever, comes back out and says No, they're out of brownies. We say Okay, fine, we'll just have the ice cream. *Beat* She says they don't have ice cream, either.

Do not go to Jerry Lawler's restaurant in Memphis.

I am so sorry you had to put up with that annoyance but man did I giggle at that ending.

Yeah, it's more of a Here's Something Dumb We Did funny story than some harrowing debacle or anything. In homage to the late Sean Connery's best film, we chose poorly!

You know it's weird, I dislike Power Rangers right now, but I'll defend them against haters. Mostly considering that the haters are the kind that views the franchise as a joke and doesn't know there are good seasons. Or maybe it's just childhood trauma defense mechanism thing from being bullied at school for liking Power Rangers.

Blind hatred is a silly thing for sure. I have nothing against those who tried the series out and decided it wasn't for them, but I can't agree with those who simply go "Well it's PR so it's crap by default and nothing good could ever come of it"

I am well aware there are a handful of people on this board who have that viewpoint. Inwhichcase I can only say that I hope you all don't have a problem with people directing that sort of attitude at things that you love.

I never could get into Power Rangers as a kid. I don’t know why because I took to Sentai and Rider immediately. Even now I still haven’t bothered to give Power Rangers a proper watch. Despite my original dislike and current neutral feelings, I don’t detest the franchise and have no desire to see it crash and burn. I want it to do well.

I don't, but being derogatory towards someone else for liking something society deems obscure or childish very much doesn't suit us well.

Which is exactly why I would never think lower of anyone for watching Power Rangers.

Sometimes I'll just randomly think of USA-branded DragonRanger saying "You think you can take our American Powerful Rangers, and turn it into your Super Sentai?" and it'll make my day a little brighter. We didn't deserve Akibaranger.

Also this is your friendly reminder Powerful Ranger figuarts technically exist but they'll never make the other Jetmans.

I like that the parts were just included with Tyrannoranger and Dragonranger's normal releases and were simply removed from the eventual MMPR releases in the west. It's just very funny to think about the alternate universe where they were included and PR fans who don't know about Akibaranger are just baffled.
