Saikou under natural lighting just looks so much better to me than all the product shots we got.

To me seeing it under a natural light and seeing it in a natural space really gives me a better idea. With figures like this it's often night and day!

Honestly, Saber's designs hits all the right spots for me. I thought Ex-Aid was great (don't get me wrong I still love the designs) but as an avid reader of books since childhood and a sucker for knight-themed stuff I'm really tempted to buy what they offer.

Right now I might just settle for Dragonic Knight and Jaou Dragon to represent the classic archetypes of a 'good knight' and an 'evil knight'. Of course I might have to wait a few years to get the price down and I might even lose interest then.

I think Saber's designs are really good. There's a few I don't like but what series don't have that, you know? All in all they're mostly a lot of fun

It's 2AM where I'm at so before I conk out I'm just gonna say that I'm a bit terrified at how they're gonna do Xross Saber. That paintwork is so intricately detailed I don't know how they'll be able to capture it. And I wouldn't be surprised if they jack up the price to 9000 JPY or something to justify producing such as intricate figure.

I still think they might go with something like the SOFVICS figure that MrWilliamGraham shared.

Maybe with a bit more 'purple' in some spots, but I think this would be a pretty good compromise in my opinion, right? This is still a pretty great color palette.

As for the Saber designs, they're all so very, very, very good. I remember when people said that they were so overdesigned when they first appeared, especially on the heels of Zero-One. But I think that was relative TO Zero-One's appearance. When you get down to it, Saber designs, while more complex than Zero-One's in a lot of ways, are still kinda on the simple side of things, especially when you compare them to designs like Ex-Aid, Gaim, and Build (all three which I love very much still). I mostly remember this 'cuz I got into a 'Twitter spat' where the person I was talking to seemed to misunderstand what I was saying about them and called me out for saying 'contradictory' statements like how they were 'complex but still simple'.

It's honestly at the same sort of complexity that Ghost (ironically enough) had. And honestly, I'd argue that OOO has more complex designs than Saber.

XCross Saber also just kinda screams Tamashii exclusive doesn't it? With such an intricate painting process needed, I can kind of imagine Bandai deciding to just make very few copies and break even.

Even with the made-to-order format of P-Bandai, I can see them capping the number of reservations even more; so why not just release it during a convention ?

I imagine that in 5 or 10 years time we'd have the proper technology needed to fully replicate Xross Saber's intricate artwork onto a Figuart.

Again, they don't NEED to 100% match the suit. They still are, and always have taken artistic liberties when it comes to SH Figuarts - especially when it comes to paintwork.

Different topic, how do you guys think they'll go about with Durendal's Kaji? I imagine that they'll make one base handle and have it be swappable with the long trident mode and short sword mode with a hexagonal/square peg, with a special blade to show the 'activating time powers/swapping weapon modes'. 'Cuz like, I don't think they'd make a short version of the trident blade, and I also don't think that it'll be possible to do the side-switching gimmick at that size.

I'd agree but I also doubt they'd spray paint him metallic blue and purple, add some stars and call it a day. They've done artistic liberties, yes, Ghost's compound face and Hazard Build's carbon texture (which I'll argue is part of suit. See: Detail Of Heroes), but not the point where it's a drastic change. The paintwork of Xross' suit is its whole identity.

Xross is a unique situation, but we're long past Fourze Fusion States. I've no doubt we'll see the cloud paint of the suit someway somehow. The obtainability of a Xross Saber SHF is the question, though.

There'd only be one Kaji and you have to swap between the long spear or the shortsword version. Simple as.

Tho, I won't rule out the possibility of them including two versions of Kaji, much like how Burning Jin was handled.

But what if you want to have Durendal posed with the Kaji blade out when he's using his time abilities? 'Cuz like, I don't think they'd be able to make it work the same way as the DX toy.

Like I'm imagining them using a peg instead of the actual 'blade tip' parts to make it more secure and to avoid it wiggling around. Would they have that sort of accessory, and a version that's more accurate to the actual Kaji when Durendal's pulling the blade out and reinserting it?

Then you really only need three parts. The handle with a cross-shaped hole, the short sword version of Kaji, and the trident version with a sizeable enough cross shape at the end to attach it to the handle.

The hole is cross-shaped so that the shortsword version can insert itself in without having any sort of sculpt of a peg. I worry about paint chip tho.

Xross Saber SHF will probably just use stickers like Drive Type Formula! Problem... solved...

Oh my goodness that's gonna be an absolute nightmare! I really hope not! But if they actually ended up doing it, please at least make it water slide decals so it won't look as terrible.

I was just thinking about it, and it kinda surprises me that Seihou Rider #2 didn't come with an alternate black helmet. The 'new' Rider #2 design with the black helmet is what was used in both Movie Wars Megamax and all of his Showa crossover appearances from V3 onwards, so it's a pretty big one to leave out. A rerelease with that added accessory would be ideal, I think...

I agree, and would not be surprised if they release Shocker Rider,(I REALLY want a SS Shocker Rider personally) since it is literally a color swap on boots, gloves, and scarf. They will one day release Kamen Rider Nigo”original colors” or something like that for a cash grab….and like a sucker, I will buy it…

BBTS is doing an incredibly bizarre sale, called the "Special Find & Import Sale", and it includes a bunch of Kamen Rider Figuarts at deep discounts. Mostly just some Blade and Fourze stuff, but it's all available for preorder? I guess they've found a cheap source for unopened, like-new Figuarts from years ago, and they're expecting to have them in soon? Or they are now ordering direct from mid-2010s Japan? Either way, if you want a reasonably-priced Garren, or a dirt-cheap Fire States ($12!), take a look.

Wow good find! I'm picking up those Mask Collection sets in the hopes I get Kabuto and Gatack. However, the listing and description says its Vol.3 which is different from the picture. So who knows! But its a great price, because these things went out of print and are pretty rare.

I also threw in Fourze Magnet States because why not. What a whacky figure.

It was the weirdest thing getting up this morning/afternoon, checking my email, and seeing a BBTS email that had Figuarts Raia in the promotional image. I've no idea where they turned up a quantity of any of this, but the fact that they're promoting it all as imminently available makes me think this is really going to happen. It's one thing to turn up some old listing that's inaccurate; it's another for them to send you an email alerting you to the news. Super weird day!

Yeah I assume they got a hold of fire sale stuff that was sitting around somewhere considering last month or so they put up stuff like Cosmic States and Scorpion Zodiarts for super-cheap along with some other older figuarts.

Was missing the 3rd Fourze switch set so for $15 shipped, why not.

A year or two back they put up a bunch of preorder for some 2007 Transformers Movie and Japanese Tramsformers Animated stuff. So it looks like they have some sort of contact who gets them old finds once in a while.

Not SHFUpgrade! From what I can tell they've done a fantastic job here, and even go beyond the necessary 'fix the soft plastic' thing with extras like a light-up head. But it's just so, so sad that you straight up need to replace so many parts on your figure to make it work, and at an extra price.

That said, this gives me hope that other fix kits will be made for Tiga and Shadow Moon

I mean nothing there even fixes anything. It's all aesthetic-based.

All the shoulders seem to do is size them up a bit while everything else is easy take-or-leave. Honestly those effect parts are probably the best things there.

Yea, I would've gotten this set if they sold just the effect pieces. But I have no real need for light-up stuff

I saw they had the SHFs of the main characters of Tiger and Bunny. I remember really liking that show back like 10 years ago, but wasn't collecting SHF at the time. I should really rewatch it
