RSAL will only seem "twice as expensive" on the smallest orders because of the additional cost of tracking, which is like 980 yen, and isn't felt as hard on bigger packages.

And no, AmiAmi isn't going to compensate you for a lost package if it's not registered. It's unlikely to get lost anyway, but if it does, maybe they'll give you a token discount if you complain enough.
