I enjoyed Eiji from the start, he just couldn't carry the show through the bland and boring first half but when he was joined by Date and Brotou who was developing into an awesome character then the three of them could carry the show even while everything around them was either generic or just shit. OOO 39. I was kinda worried that now the trio has been broken up, the show would go back to the same suckiness of the first twenty or so episodes and it turned out to be a great episode anyway, it just had so much energy and life, it was hilarious. There were some problems though, Brotou has got his own style of Birth transformation which is cool but he's clearly too tall for the suit actor so he awkwardly drops down about a foot of height in the middle of the transformation sequence, you don't notice so much once in the suit but during the transformation it looks sloppy. And the orca helmet changed powers. |

And Gotou was too tall? That's a new one, I honestly don't remember him being too tall, but it has been a while. And what power did the Orca helmet get now? Was it the water gun? |

Just watched Kiva 25-28, all I can is Oh my god what revelations! what a trip and love Rising Ixa and Emperor Kiva so much. Such a fun series. I cannot believe that is Wataru's mother, I mean I can but what a shock.

Also a lot of the helmets kind of just have "whatever" powers aside from a few specific examples. I think the Orca helmet was supposed to have underwater sonar, not infared like the hawk helmet. |
Well, the Taka and Orca helmets' powers are woefully underused, anyway. Hell, Eiji himself forgot he could use the Taka helmet's powers during a movie.
Besides, outside of Lion's flash of light, I don't think Eiji ever used the helmets' powers outside of combos. |
Well either way Brotou's transformation was very sloppy and looked like edited footage rather than a transformation.

I'm surised really that Kamen Rider, since it usually has custom transformation each episode rather than stock footage, keeps the transformations as consistent as it does. Especially series like Wizard and W where it's not a flash of light and then they're in the costume, but rather it forms around them gradually. (Especialy W where there's no real obscuring of the effect by any light or energy)
