You want self contained, you will really like Shin Kamen Rider and Black Sun.

While Black is a very good series, it's sadly not all that great and I find RX to be more enjoyable.

Faiz is just okay. The show pretty much lost me during most of its second half.

Den-O is an alright series though its comedy can be very hit or miss for me.

I find Dragon Knight to be a better series than Ryuki.

I've noticed some interesting patterns as of late. And this is the only thing that makes sense to me.

Kamen Rider fans (other Toku fans too but I noticed this mostly with Rider fans) are burning themselves out the more they watch Kamen Rider and not admitting that they're burning themselves out and need a break, thus placing blame on the shows instead of wanting to think it might be something else. It's an unknowing destructive path, that's for sure.

It's hard for me to choose the best of them, but I think that Black and RX should have been different shows, not connected by a common hero Kotaro Minami. Perhaps then the riders would have managed to last a couple more years.

I agree that it's a good show, more kid-friendly and with better action than Ryuki. But at the same time, it is quite primitive. That is, even the unpretentious Fourze, in comparison with him, demonstrates complex characters and conflicting situations.

I agree that this happens, but due to the nature of the storytelling, they may simply not like a particular show. They can also get tired of repeating specific paths, as in the case of the Wizard. I'm sure if it had started after Decade and not Fourze, the reviews for the magician rider would have been much nicer. So there can be many reasons for criticizing the show, and not always the reason is burnout. Although personally, I'm always in favor of skipping a year if the aesthetics of the plot do not appeal. However, I must admit, I am annoyed by the fans (or already "fans") who stop watching the show, but regularly come into discussions to remind them of this.

It's definitely a thing, I noticed it happening to myself and have been taking a break from modern Rider, instead going to Sentai or Showa Ultra when I'm in a toku mood. Keeps things refreshing

I don't think that's really... Appropriate, for lack of a better word. Those two have a lot of reasons why one could like or dislike them, but being standalone doesn't really change the quality at all, I believe one of the people who criticized the big canon crossover aspects here did not enjoy Black Sun much too

Kamen Rider Revice is a perfectly fine show. People are just mad that it wasn't the show they built up in their minds in the early days.

I think I'm borderline doing this to this to myself, so I have been watching Geats in multi-episode batches instead of weekly and plan to take a break once it is over. Still totally going to see Shin Kamen Rider next week though, can't pass that chance up! Watching weekly can be fun, but it is such a toss-up. I don't think I'm going to do it again any time soon.

For my controversial opinion I will say that I think Rider is cutting too many corners lately. I know these shows cost a lot of money but there have been a whole lotta reused props and lack of new monster suits in the Reiwa era especially. C'mon guys, this series makes a bajillion dollars, I feel like we deserve to be treated at least a little better.

sometimes when I watch Kamen Rider...i feel like i'm watching Sentai minus the mechas and cheesy intro explosion scenes.

we have a whole team of kamen riders against a SINGLE villain. Yet, you cannot just beat up the guy??? Saber literally was 9 against 1!

sorry not Sentai...but is this freaking Power Rangers? Using your powers only for defense???
