After listening to it without the on screen opening, I like it a bit more, so I guess it's really the opening clip I don't care for.

Never watched the show, though. It's never really caught my attention, I guess.

I have a soft spot for that dramatic sort of ballad, and the heartfelt-staring-into-the-sun-teat-in-the-eye sort of moment such evokes. I won't, of course, tell you to watch Hibiki if you have no inclination to do so, as I think it's something you have to approach on your own terms, being a very different animal to other shows of its ilk. I will, however, look into the aforementioned sun with a tear in my eye, and tell you that I love it. :p

I didn't care much for the Hibiki opening theme until I started watching the series, and it really really grew on me. The title sequence itself might not be something to write home about, but the music itself perfectly encapsulated those early episodes. I loved when they would remix the music with guitars or horns depending on who the focus of the episode was. Variety and individuality in openings is always appreciated

That said I always, always skipped the second opening haha

Speaking of Hibiki's openings. Always did enjoy the instrumental nature of the first one, gave it a nice flare.

Hibiki's second opening though, my least favorite OP in all of Heisei Rider. I just cannot stand any of it.

I like it! I like EVERY toku opening and ending I've listened to actually; there's not been a single one I've actively disliked so far.

The issue with Hibiki OP 2 is just... well, it's not really Hibiki. Same issue with almost everything in that back half.

I'm smiling at the way this thread has evolved, as I genuinely couldn't remember what Hibiki "Season 2" (episode #30 onwards) did with the opening, and everyone seems to be complaining about Shounen Yo! by Fuse Akira, which was originally the end theme, and, ah, well, that's what I linked to, that's what I was talking of as the main theme, as that was what came out as a CD single at the time. :p

Then I'll be the odd one out! Hibiki's second OP is WAY better than the first!

I have no idea what Hibiki's second OP sounds like, unless it's Shonen Yo, which I actually like quite a lot.
